LYRICS:
We three kings of Orient are,
Bearing gifts we traverse afar,
Field and fountain, moor and mountain,
Following yonder star.
O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright;
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect light.
Born a king on Bethlehem plain,
Gold I bring to crown him again,
King for ever, ceasing never,
Over us all to reign:
Frankincense to offer have I,
Incense owns a Deity nigh,
Prayer and praising, all men raising,
Worship him, God most high:
Myrrh is mine; its bitter perfume
Breathes a life of gathering gloom;
Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying,
Sealed in the stone-cold tomb:
Glorious now behold him arise,
King, and God, and sacrifice!
Heav’n sings Alleluia:
Alleluia the earth replies:
( Words by J. H. Hopkins)
Christmas Star
The Cambridge Singers' debut recording - a universal favourite. This recording was the first to be made by the Cambridge Singers, shortly after the choir's formation in 1981. Featuring classic carols and carol arrangements, it is one of the label's most popular Christmas releases. Highlights include John Rutter's arrangements of such favourites as 'Three Kings of Orient', 'Away in a Manger' and 'Silent Night'.
John Rutter, English composer and conductor, is associated with choral music throughout the world. His recordings with the Cambridge Singers (the professional chamber choir he set up in 1983) have reached a wide global audience, many of them featuring his own music in definitive versions. Among John’s best-known choral works are Gloria, Requiem, Magnificat, Mass of the Children, and Visions, together with many church anthems, choral songs and Christmas carols.

There is no better arrangement than this one....!!
Family Radio brought me here for this Sacred arrangement. What a Christmas blessing
watched this before i performed it with my choir a couple of years ago, now im rewatching it to re-live the beatifulness that this song is
Was trying to remember who did this amazing, Eastern-tinged, haunting arrangement. Finally found it.
John Rutter.
Of course it's John Rutter. It's always John Rutter.
I love this arrangement too! I’ll have to look for more John Rutter compositions-I just learned of him thanks to you. Although, it says JH Hopkins is the composer, so maybe he’s who composed this eastern themed version. Does John Rutter compose also?
@@PeaceIsYeshua JH Hopkins is the person who composed We Three Kings. John Rutter was responsible for this specific arrangement. Rutter is an incredible arranger (definitely look into his Christmas stuff), but he also has some great original works.
