i would love to see a TV show series where all these celebrity chefs have to eat the frozen dinners with their names on the box,,and not just their own
With a pair of chopsticks lol❤
I tried some. Mediocre at best and overpriced.
I can't believe they're selling these for $6. They look like $2 meals which would sell for $3 because of name recognition.
Name recognition? I have no idea who he even is haha
I tried the meatloaf, I liked it and everyone makes their meatloaf different. My mom used rye bread or white bread in the meat loaf.I tried the turkey dinner by Andrew needs more turkey.Want to try a couple of others by Gordon Ramsey.
Andrew is known for eating anything. So, a dinner that's awful is not a huge surprise.
my first thought
Exactly what I was thinking, lol.
The funniest roast I've ever seen was under some clip of him eating sushi "Andrew Zimmerm would go to a 5 star restaurant, waggle his fingers and say Don't mind if I do!"
Right? LOL
That's funny
They should have called these "Andrew Zimmern needs a quick payday frozen entrée's"
Andrew Zimmern's pre-masticated meals, saves you the trouble of having to chew your food.
_... pre masticated ..._
GOLDEN right there!
@@josephgaviota it's giving me flashbacks to the old Saturday Night Live, from like the Bill Murray days. "pre-chewed food" restaurant skit, ?
@@idjtoal HA! Pre-Chewed Food ... the ultimate laziness for the slacker in your life ...
😂
Seeing those liquid mashed potatoes brought back memories of all the two dollar frozen meals and canned beans I ate as a teen. I can't imagine people willingly paying $6 for that.
Looks like a dinner you’d give to a toddler getting to get them used to solid foods ..
not so solid , is it now?
I wouldn't give that to my toddler
Times must be tough for celebrities if they’re ok with putting their faces on absolutely awful frozen food. Thanks again Larry for taking one for the team. 🇺🇸
All about the Benjamins.
Greed.
It's quick cash grab
They are having a tough time affording their 8th vacation home 😢
Go woke go broke zimmern obv sold out serving this up
As a former worker a large frozen giant your description is pretty spot on.
I don't get the problem with the meatloaf If you found it delicious the way should you care if was like meatball Free your mind a little
@@nicktaylor2657 I agree. Plus a lot of people use meatball mix (ground beef, pork, veal) as the foundation for their meatloaf. And vice versa.
Lmao, he must've started drinking again if he think $6 is an acceptable price for his 10g slop bowl 😂
the KFC famous bowl looks more appetizing
When frozen meals are like this I skip the mixing and microwave for the full time, it turns out much better.
I find that adjusting the microwave to half power and cooking for double the time in the instructions works best. At least for my microwave. Because usually when you adjust a microwave's power it is through inputting a percentage like "50%" and does nothing to the actual power output to cook, but for how much time the active cooking takes place. So the cooking process is more like for every thirty seconds the microwave is cooking, it is taking a 30 second break. This kind of off/on cycle tends to cook everything more evenly while also preventing other side effects of microwaving some foods like how breads or tortillas tend to dry out. Depending on the wattage of your microwave, or how cold you keep your freezer and fridge, you may want to adjust either the time or percentage on your microwave if you choose to experiment with this. Mine is 1,000 watts, and I've found that 50% for about 3 minutes is good for leftovers in the fridge, and roughly double the time for most frozen food heating instructions works well enough. I've never had that much luck with the presets or other heating instructions provided by my microwave. It's also good to read the food heating instructions carefully too as they may be based on a certain wattage of microwave. For instance Ikea frozen meatballs come with instructions based off a 700 watt microwave. They include to either cook on high (if you have a 700w microwave) or to cook on 70% power for higher wattage microwave's with a time of 3-4 minutes depending on if you're using a 1000w or higher. 70% at 3.5 minutes worked fine for me.
Any frozen dinner with out a partitioned tray is going to look like this. Your right it should be called a bowl, a little pricey too.
It looks like complete and utter garbage
You're.
I’m trying these meals a few at a time. I haven’t had one I really disliked yet. The quality is good but the price is a little high for what you get. I’m enjoying seeing different reviews on these. You, of course being my favorite reviewer! 😊
Try the Healthy Choice power bowls and you'll really realize how overpriced these celebrity meals are.
Mercy.... over priced... false advertising, lol unhealthy... thank you. Seldom buy frozen meals.... will know not to bother with these. Thank you!
And the overwhelming serving of sodium!
Larry , this is too expensive , here i can buy an 8 lb. Boneless double turkey breast & 2 fridge real Bob Evans mashed potatatoes & feed 6-8 folks for $ 20.00, & the turkey is pre- roasted so only needs to be heated up as do the mashed potatoes, just as easy & delicious
I have been cooking for 60 years and I have never made/eaten mashed potatoes that were as good as Bob Evans! They are delicious!
Bob Evan mash potatoes is good 👍
This dish looks like it was put together in an Army chow line.
An Army chow line would probably slop it on a tray with a lot more finesse. That looked like a dog puked it up.
Looks like it had thawed out completely, then was dropped on the floor and re-frozen.
Well, it's Walmart, so...
I don't know why they won't create dividers to keep everything separate. Others have done this.
_I don't know why they won't create dividers to keep everything separate. Others have done this._
It seems so obvious. I guess they saved 8¢ per meal by selling a slop bowl instead of a nice meal.
That would raise the price for 6 dollars to 8.50 a box.😂
Thank you for convincing me that making my own is a far better bargain!
You can't blame Andrew Zimmerman on the presentation of the dinner. That lies on the laziness of the manufacturer.
He got paid to put his name on it, didn't he?
It would be more appropriate to name this meal, "Turkey and Green Beans in a Mashed Potato Soup".
Maybe they could doll it up, call it Turkey Green Bean, Mashed Potato Vichyssoise ... makes this slop sound a little "fancy."
It looks like the giant robot at the factory plops a couple of scoops of mashed potatos into the bowl, dumps in some slices of pre-cooked turkey and squirts some gravy on it, finally throwing in a handful of green beans.
These reviews are amazing about this stuff
Good review, thanks for sharing, God bless !
I agree. Banquet meals look much better. I used to get the Banquet 10 for $10 back in the day.
Thank you very much!
Never heard of this guy nor seen his products on store shelves. Based off what I've seen so far, I'm glad.
Same. He looks super smug too.
He's known for tv shows where he travels the world eating "local cuisine" of bugs, slugs, brains, balls - anything you'd consider disgusting.
Interesting guy, and actually intelligent, but I'm not sure who he knows to get "famous" status.
@@frankrosemeck9898 well he certainly doesn't look like the type of guy who'd do any of that. He looks more like some pri*k who'd go the extra mile to score easy money. I mean no offense to the guy, I've never heard of him before so mine's is just a first impression lol
I get why people would want new kinds of TV dinners, but Stoffers has the home field advantage on turkey😊
Man, I get stuff freezes over due to the process of getting it ready for shipping and long term storage but man, was that watery.
Thanks great video
Aside from the watery mashed potatoes, that actually looks really good.
It would have to be moist. Its swimming in watery potatoes.
Ah roasted rurkey. My favorite!!
I agree with your comment about the Banquet Meal.
While working in a soup kitchen, one woman screamed at me because her food was touching each other. Told her 'Seriously? Why? It all gets mixed together in your stomach'. She never spoke to me again-after cursing me out.
Exactly what my grandpa said………he passed from a bleeding ulcer, btw…
That's what my dad told us, too. Plus, "if you don't like it, don't eat it. I don't care if you starve."
@@mousiebrown1747 your grandpa didn’t develop a bleeding ulcer from his food touching or getting mixed together, come on now.
Sounds like a comment Laverne once made on the tv show Laverne & Shirley 😂
You take some chocolate and some lobster and some eggs and some pie and then you mix it in your body, and *shit* it all out
It made me work EXTRA overtime for #2!
I'm so glad he's willing to sacrifice himself for "us the people" and try these horrible meals! I'm glad I didn't try any of them yet and waited for you to do a review on them. Can't wait for the review of the next one.
Certified Gold!!!!!
Mari Callender has some pretty edible dinners. Most of them are very good
Man I've eaten some pretty terrible frozen meals, but I actually lost my appetite when you showed off the turkey & green beans one. I'd feel so sad eating that.
What's with people thinking 300cal is a meal when the see it on a box, and 850cal or something reasonable is "omg too many", meanwhile they sit down and eat 1200 all the time.
Hey Larry, love this series! You should check out Kardea Brown’s frozen sausage & grits, it’s one of the best frozen meals I’ve ever had!
Im sure a handful of cheese, a few tablespoons of butter and a ton of Texas Pete's hot sauce will have it tasting pretty awesome. Dont forget a 16 oz glass tumbler of whole milk and about 4 slices of bread and butter.
So change the whole meal
Why so much butter? 😨
If it sucks to begin with.... yes. If other options are around, i will choose them.
God I fucking love Texas Pete dude
@@boxelderinitiative3897 I work at a drug and alcohol rehab and we have Texas Pete in the little packets. If we don't ration them out we'd run out of a month supply in under a week
The watery food!
I think I've seen that before, on a pavement outside of a pub.............
lol
You do my guy! For my entertainment! I appreciate it greatly! Thanks.
It's interesting. These meals look like they are trying to be familiar and comforting, precisely because they aren't going to "challenge" your food tastes. It seems entirely off-brand for Mr Zimmern.
Turkey and mashed potatoes? I thought he'd be boxing up and selling Rocky Mountain Oysters or squid ink pasta.
Maybe next week's meal? 😂
The potatoes in both of his meals have looked like watered down instant grits...
What exactly _is_ a "grit"?
_My Cousin Vinny_
Here is how they make frozen dinners. I used to work for Blue Star off and on for a few years. I would stand at the start of the line. My job was to take whatever meat we were working with, hold the giant frozen chunk over my head and slam it down on top of the ones in the giant box to break them apart. A young woman would take the separated parts and put them in the tray or bowl and send it down the line where other women would throw in a handful of whatever veggie we were using in it. It was a long time ago, the 90's, but I'm pretty sure that's how they still do it.
My wife bought this, I go "did you see the video?" LOL
She bought the swedish meatball one too, that one was REALLY GOOD!
thanks for sharing I give it a 1 for presentation I've seen better at school lunches.
Thanks, Michelle Obama.
More than fair rating. That meal looks like somethe MRESteve1989 would pass on eating. And we all love MRESteve1989 and suspect he was Mikey in the Life Cereal ads from the 70s. :D
If you think the meal picture on the box is what you’re getting when it’s all said and done, then it’s on you. A lifetime of fast food commercials and ads has taught me that.
Didn’t think it looked too bad until you mixed it
I'm loving this villain arc
I'll usually add kettle potato chips to things like these. It's cheating but whatever gets me to finish dinner 😂
Or you could simply learn how to cook idk
Anyone else giddy with excitement to see Larry eat a flip-flop? ❤
Day after thanksgiving slop …that’s what we called it on our house .. only ours was pink cause we added cranberry sauce
The ingredient list reads "Roasted Rurkey Tender Medallions". Not sure what a rurkey is, but whoever wrote the list may or may not be Scooby Doo.
Thanks for this food review.....
I'll pass on this frozen food menu item. I own a couple cases of Hormel's Completes shelf stable turkey, dressing & gravy menu item that always hits the spot for me. I do add a few dollups of jellied cranberry sauce into the tray to give it that authentic Thanksgiving feast flavor.
Thank again!!
Aktually i always mix my food, fried hamburg, mashed potatos and corn. All mixed, gravy optional. Now im hungry.
luv your manicure looks fab what salon do you go to?
The one with Asians ladies........
Hey WP, when you said "bland as a hole" what kind of hole were you refering to?
I'll keep my Banquet pot pies and you can have all that other stuff.
I must say though they are more expensive Marie Callender has the best chicken pot pie on the planet. Just make sure you get the 14-point whatever once one because you'll want it. Not a normal pot pie so normal size is not going to do it.
Why can't they use a partitioned tray?
Yeah ~ I'll make my own, as usual! What I will never understand is the thought process behind brown gravy for poultry. Why?!? Is it really so difficult to make turkey gravy? I grew up making chicken gravy to go with chicken, turkey gravy to go with turkey, beef gravy to go with beef, ham gravy to go with ham. For that matter, it was the same for all sorts of game meat. I've seen a lot of restaurants and even KFC that can't seem to manage this. In a way I can understand a restaurant serving various meats, but KFC? The place serves chicken. Just chicken! But the only gravy they have is brown.
What are turkey tenderloins?
If I recall correctly I saw a tiktoker point out that all these celeb Walmart exclusive meals are made by the same brand and probably have nothing to do with each actual chef.
Do the sausage and grits next they’re good and in the same freezer 😂
Throw a crust on top and it’s a turkey pot pie I might try.
Turkey and mashed potatoes :D
They charge $6.24 for this line of food here in California. I'd rather go eat at a diner already.
Hi ,we just got a white cheese powder for put backs in the pantie . I can't imagine not having cheese. GOD BLESS
When's the last time any food product anywhere looked like the picture on the box?
a handful of turkey, a handful of beans, a handful of potatoes?
Sounds like someone was drunk and hungry.
What is Roasted Rurkey?
Roasted Rurkey Tender Medallions?
4/10 seems a bit generous to me, but Ya gotta trust Larry's pie-hole...😁
Once again thank you for letting Scooter take the high road.
Like you said before Anthony Bourdain would be ashamed.
Whether I agree or disagree, it doesn't matter. Thank You for your opinion, Cause it matters!!!
Jesus Christ that looks absolutely disgusting. Iv never seen a tv dinner that bad. Even if you scored it you’re 0 score it would not be low enough. Thank you so much for all you’re videos.
Larry is a brave man, doing this for WE, THE PEOPLE.
👍👍👍👍
I wish Larry would recreate things he didn't like with a spin. Something that'd make us, the people, howl like a wolf in a pit!
is that soup ?
I remember when (TV dinners/microwave dinners) used to be segregated. Nowadays they call it a Bowl and act like they are doing you a favor....not.
You just saved me money! Thanks! I will not be buying any of these so called chef’s meals.
YUP!
That Andrew Zimmern 10.25 Oz meal at a $5.94 turkey mush dinner is $9.27 per pound. 😮
What’s RURKEY?
Ive never trusted those food network "celebrity" chefs. That they attach themselves to these shameless frozen "meals" only reinforces that haha
Well one could argue that it is indeed bizarre food.
You're a lot nicer than I am. I gave that meal a 2 out 10.
I don't mind cheap slop, but expensive slop I'd opt to pass on.
down vote to Andrew, Up vote on the video.
The product never looks like the picture on the box. Even with a divided tray, I have gotten some corn, green beans, or some other veggie in my mashed potatoes or in the dessert.
Even the struggle meals don't give us slop.
Meals like this are why we have school cafeteria food fights and prison mess hall riots.
with the exception of the occasional frozen pizza I've pretty much stopped eating all frozen meals
For those unaware. A meatloaf is a loaf of meat.
Great advice! 👍
I just saw this at the Grocery Outlet today for 3.99😂😂
When I see any foods with his name and picture on it I cant help but remember him eating a nasty stuff and gives me the willies. From a man that has been single since the 90's and ate a lot of frozen turkey dinners over the yrs, that one once cooked looks like most others except banquet. Have you tried them little frozen turkey roast at wally world (walmart), not too bad and with a bag of steamers veggies and a bag of mashed potato flakes and it's like being married straight out of high school (I hear).
Thank you very much!
