yep. Great teacher. i actually learned from you man love it
Let it rain is my favorite Clapton solo song. In concert I shot the sheriff 6-28-75 from Crossroads 2 Lp. Also from Fillmore east 1970 Lp, Got to get better in a little while and Let it rain.
Finally got back around to this one. Really good lesson, I like how you add the lick v. chords (harder but we need to be challenged as well as make it sound musical). I'd love to see some of the outro solo examples.
Great lesson Jon, thanks!
My number one song by Eric Clapton is the 1988 0r 1987 version of After Midnight Michelob commercial. it shows the true talent of Mr. Clapton.
Thanks Jon! Your song selection is killing it lately.
Both Eric and Duane were so good at bringing out melodies
In really great chord progressions. Some of the best rock ever played.Love what you do John!
Like Promises just because of the memories it invokes but Bell Bottom Blues is the main number one for me

Thank you so much. You're an excellent teacher. It will take me awhile but well worth it. Your seventy three year old pupil. Tedđ
yep. Great teacher. very explanitory. no rushing.
Awesome!!! Thank you for breaking down the chords. You're a great teacher. Keep it up. God bless you
You had me at âEric Claptonâ. đ Thanks Jon!
This is your best lesson to date! Hands-down! The most complete lesson too! Clapton lesson requests: after midnight, itâs in the way that you use it.

Outstanding. Thanks for doing this! My favorite Clapton song.
great choice - Thanks Jon
You're rather talented at teaching and breaking songs down for us to make playing fun and informative. Well done Jon. And of course you have the chops too.
This is just the way EC plays it on Derek and the Dominos in Concert. I've always wanted to learn this conversion, Thanks!!
D2
love the chord work in this song. on the recording I think the main riff is three guitars playing single notes harmonized (of course).
thanks, man. some juicy info in there
Great song! I use to play Leon Russellâs piano parts⊠Leon, Eric and Jim Gordon on drums!?!? hard to beat!
love this song and this tutorial too
Thanks you very much for this excellent tutorial. Let it Rain, Jon. Greetings from England đŹđ§
Great lesson
I'm a new subscriber and loved this! Thanks so much, as this is one of my favorite EC songs. I would love to hear your take on "Anyday", as I'm also a huge fan of Bobby Whitlock... one of the most underrated rock vocalists of the era. Thanks again! I look forward to learning from you!
This is a great lesson. There is so much going on in this song.
My favorite Clapton song..thanks Jon..just beyond awesome
Thanks so much. I subscribed! đ
Great lesson on a classic Clapton tune! I like the studio version on his first solo album but really love the live version from Derek and the Dominos live album from the Fillmore East! Oh yeah, my favorite Clapton song has to be Old Love which you recently had a great lesson on, thanks Jon!
GREAT!
Someone listened to the Derek and the Dominoes live version of Let It Rain. Fun fact Stephen Stills did that short solo on the studio version.
Thanks Bell bottom Blues is one of my favorites
I like that this is just the way I play it as I am usually in just a 3-piece band. The recorder version is hard to do without 2 other guitars .... Thank you for this !!!
add D2 if you haven't already done that playing
One of my faves thanks Jon!!
Bringing all those great songs. I would love to see you cover Malika Copelandâs version of âThe Battle is over, but the war goes on.â Great version and song.
I always did the opening with an open A chord, but your approach captures the melody.
Love it
Hey Jon, another great lesson. Could you do a lesson on a classic Doobie Brother's, Another Park, another Sunday?
Anything by EC
I love my fathers eyes can you please do a lesson on it
Clapton must have known Harrison, this strum pattern is like It Don't Come Easy by Starr/Harrison
"Who is the real Layla?
Eric Clapton's song Layla was supposed to win back his love ...
Pattie Boyd
The woman in question was Pattie Boyd. She was the wife of one of Clapton's closest friends: former Beatle George Harrison. Neglected and betrayed by her own husband, Pattie had grown close to Clapton, but in the end she could not bring herself to run away with him."
Jon -- great lesson; was wondering if you've every broken down the guitar parts to Somebody's Baby by Jackson Browne
