After spending a few days in Xinjiang's capital of Urumqi, we decided to check out the downtown area and see what everyday life looked like here. Uruqmi is located in the north west part of China and happens to be the largest city in Central Asia. We were shocked to see the modern side of Xinjiang and would recommend adding this to your list of things to do in Urumqi, China.

[It's time for the world to move on from America's dictatorship on international order]
The US was created upon European immigration and colonization, African slave trade, genocide of aboriginal people, and conquest and forced annexation of foreign territories.
Rampant racism against minorities, widespread drug abuse, frequent gun violence, cruel exploitation of new immigrants as cheap labor, ridiculous gap between rich and poor, looting of global wealth through addictive money printing, economic and military coercion of "allies and foes" around the world, bombing and killing of millions of civilians in foreign lands under the cover of "human rights, democracy and liberty", are some of the key features of US led "rule based international order".
The US dictatorship on international order based on lie fabrication, economic coercion and military bullying will be broken up soon, following the outcry from the world against Israel and the US' atrocities in Gaza. A truely open, free and democratic international order based on UN Charter will be restored for all of humankind.

Seven years ago, I went to Xinjiang with an international student from Canada. In Urumqi, he was completely shocked by the modern urban construction in Xinjiang. In the Xinjiang cotton producing areas of Kashgar and Hotan, what you see before you are drones spraying pesticides on cotton fields. He said, "The Canadian media will never report such a fact. I studied in China for more than two years and went to many places. The reports on China by the American and Western media are complete nonsense." In the evening in Urumqi, I went to the streets with him to watch the night view. He said, "This place is more prosperous and modern than many cities in the United States and Canada."

The narrative of Western media about China often needs to be reversed. For example, if Xinjiang is not good, it indicates that Xinjiang is one of the best Muslim settlements in the world. For example, if China's electric vehicle production capacity is excessive, it indicates that China's electric vehicles are of good quality and low prices, and Western car companies are almost unable to sustain themselves.

That's exactly my experience with China. Whatever negative propaganda our Western media spread about China, I experienced the opposite of the negative when visiting China.
They say China is dirty, but I experience cleanliness. They say China is xenophobic, I experienced a 1000 times friendlier and more open-minded society than in the West. They say China has a police brutality problem, I experienced the most friendly, helpful police who don't even carry weapons, they say China suppresses Muslims, but I experienced great financial and political support from the CPC towards Muslim communities. They say the Chinese all have the same opinions, I witnessed people having rich and educated discussions with all kinds of different viewpoints whereas 95% of people in the West all have the same views which they've learned from manipulative Western "news", and superficial fake-education.
When the West says something nasty about China, you can be sure that the opposite is the truth and that the West is projecting its OWN systemic flaws, evil intentions, and atrocities onto China. Some old strategy of Western imperialism, in order to shape public opinion into something ridiculously stupid, while making the Western public feel "educated and superior".

Thanks again for the video, I grew up in Urumqi and I can explain that the buildings including the shopping malls in the video look a bit old because the city center is the old city center, on the south side of the city, and now the newer shopping districts have been concentrated on the north side of the city, so when you go to the north side you can find a much more similar city to the more developed cities in China.🎉

And if you see 8折, it means you are paying 80% of the price tag. So it's at 20% discount. At 3折 you are paying 30% of the price tag. Hence 70% discount. It is how Chinese speaking people applies their discounts....

At 17:38 The sign of “5折”literally means 5/10 discount, basically means 50% off discount in Chinese. In Chinese, especially when you purchase stuff in daily life, you always use decimal fraction (xx out of ten) instead of the centesimal percentages, shops have signs showing the deci-fraction after discounts of the full price instead of showing the xx% off.
For example, if it’s 30% off, the sign will always show it as 7折 or 七折, means you only need to pay 7/10 or 70%.

Way to go, Libby! 3:53 that's the best pronunciation I've heard yet. Taz has a bit more to go. You guys should definitely check out a KTV place while you are in China. Preferably find (or make) a couple of friends to bring along, 3-4 is a good size and there's usually plenty of interesting finger food to order!
