  • In this edition of Why You Should Fly we take a look at the SimWorks Studios Daher Kodiak 100, an awesome single engine light utility plane capable of hauling people and cargo to the remotest of destinations.
This is a really great high-fidelity glass cockpit airplane, you get good compelex engine management and systems depth with great visuals and a really fun flight model, especially for STOL work.

Just got it, and cannot wait to get some stick time with it. Unfortunately, my line of work is working at an MRO, doing heavy C Checks on single isle aircrafts, which Unfortunately leaves me very little time these days, for my favorite passion, virtual flying. Thanks for the review, mate. 😅

Bought it just this past week. Already one of my favorite planes. Really nice plane with lots of flexibility for many runways. I did touch and go for an hour plus yesterday on a grass strip. Getting a good feel for the plane so I can check out some more difficult landing locations

I've racked up alot of hours in the Kodiak. Especially since the update. Simworks did amazing job. I fly Pacific NW into and out of Alaska alot.

I just discovered you and I enjoyed your video. Good stuff! I used to live in Sandpoint, Idaho, where these were built. Great plane made by great people.

    Nice video.
This is much nicer than the one from Tandra for X plane 12 and also cheaper!
I'm really starting to consider switching to MSFS, but the new version!

This will be my next addition to msfs. Typically fly airliners, but want a good solid bush type for some of the more remote areas. Cant very well land an a320 into the rangers station 😂

@VFR Simulations Thanks for the review. I'm looking for some top quality payware to fly and wondering what other aircraft would you say fall in the same category as the Kodiak in terms of flight dynamics?

Agreed on landing speed. With minimal time in the plane I like mid-80s give or take. Once into mid-70s the plane becomes a bit more unpredictable, and when I had to power up for a missed approach the plane torque hit pretty hard. I tried that again later and at 85kts or so it wasnt nearly as pronounced.

Please let me know if you know

Does anyone know how to silence low oil pressure chimes? It's getting very annoying having a constant beep during flight planning and before actually starting the engine. Think it may be a bug

Had to buy it and try it but this little buzz box is not for me, managed to get it started but could not get it to move off the parking bay, this is way too finicky for me. There are other similar planes that I will stick with.

Just bought it, having throttle issues on take-off. The throttle goes up and down by itself making it impossible to fly.

Is there; or will there be a float version? Should I buy now; or wait for float version?

Nice video. Not to be critical or anything, but you are operating the aircraft as if you have a piston powered aircraft and not turbine.

      explain

    • @Wannabe_Aviator
      @Wannabe_Aviator Před rokem +4

@@Voltomess Like I said not to be critical, but first the terminology used is incorrect, there is no mixture it's called a condition lever. There is no throttle either it's called a power lever.
And you don't "crack the throttle open a little " for starting the aircraft ect. You can start with the prop in feather or full forward. A few other things are done incorrectly for startup as well, but like I said I don't want to be critical. It was a nice video that I enjoyed.
