ChatGPT-4 Powered Bing vs Google Bard: First Look (Road to Artificial General Intelligence?)

In this video, I delve into the recent advancements in the competition for the future of search. The growing consumer app ChatGPT from OpenAI has reached 100 million active users in just two months, posing a threat to Google's ad business. In response, Google has developed LaMDA, its own chatbot based on a Large Language Model, while Microsoft has invested in ChatGPT and integrated it into Bing, its search engine.
I compare the features of BingChat by Microsoft and Bard by Google, both of which adopt a hybrid approach combining traditional search with a chat interface. BingChat serves as a research assistant, personal planner, and creative partner, capable of handling complex tasks such as generating meal plans, travel plans, and writing code. Conversely, Bard is an experimental conversational service currently in the external testing phase.
In the video, I also discuss the potential future of large language models as the AI race between tech giants is expected to intensify. The scalability of these models will be a crucial concern, given the vast computational resources they necessitate.
Additionally, I touch on the impact of AI on websites and knowledge workers, highlighting the expected changes in search engines as they transition into answer engines and eventually into hyper-advanced personal assistants. I also mention the rapid growth in the generative capabilities of AI models and the acceleration of training compute in recent years. I predict that in the near future, specialized AI models will interact with each other and data from robotics solutions, leading to discussions about Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and Artificial Super Intelligence. I believe that the democratization of intelligence and creative power is inevitable, and that the cost of intelligence will rapidly decrease to almost zero in the next decade. Despite the potential challenges for knowledge workers, I remain optimistic about the future of AI and am eager to embrace this change and explore new opportunities.

I did a session with my students about bing Chat. Being a teacher, Its really hard to see how we are going to be outraced, but at the end its the learning.. and if AI can help it, we should be the first one to familarize students with it...

@@mattiullah9676 completely agreed on this! Teachers will stay relevant for long time because learning is still a personal experience requires empathy and understanding of students’ personal needs. Therefore, I see AI as ‘enhancer’ for teachers. Not a replacer.
