Just UFC MMA Champion Alex Pereira casually breaking the worlds strongest punch record. Mike Tyson trained Francis Ngannou is no longer the king of power.
It needs to be in a controlled environment and it needs to be using the same equipment. Alex is in boxing gloves Francis used mma gloves. You can punch significantly harder with boxing gloves because there is a lot more padding and when hitting one of these machines, the glove being larger will help the machine read the punch. It's more so the placement and position than the power or force alone in a high level fight. So technically his right hand being his rear punch would more than likely generate the most force regardless of timing or position when measuring his exact power level.
My guess is that he has more power in his right hand, and might be more dominant in that hand, but the key to his left hook is the angles he can hit with it. Pereira usually is standing orthodox when that left hook lands, which is probably most comfortable for him and left him get the angles he needs for those KO's. My bet is his right hand is stronger but its way harder to hit those angles the way he stands so straight, even with his reach it's still a challenge.
@@troofhurts I don't think he wants to see the left hook if it's more powerful or not, just how far off it is from his right hook. His left hook puts people to sleep because of it's speed mostly, and the follow through, causing the snap on the chin, and therefore a hard concussion.

Its the way you shift your weight that raises the score by as much as 5 times. So as you make contact you have to turn your hips during the contact which ads kinetic energy to the machine multiplying your score. Tom is just using his upper body strength, even the trainer tells him this but doesn't articulate it very well. Punching power comes from the feet to the hips which is very awkward for some men since a male's center of gravity is in their shoulders. If Tom worked as a brick layer or construction work he would have major back problems since he doesn't have a good center of gravity, but being a heavyweight fighter he can make up for that by pure size and strength. 40,000 PSI for an ARM punch is quiet scary now just imagine if he could pull the energy from the ground. @@S.O.A_Zero no, the more the force is concentrated in a small area, the more power you will get. We're not talking about damage but power by square inches, let say. But maybe the way the machine is built it transfer more force with a wider impact, that I don't know.
Poatan has perfected throwing that left hook. As Bruce Lee once said, “Fear not the man who has practiced 1000 kicks 1 time. Fear the man who has practiced 1 kick 1000 times.”
Is this even surprising ? Alex Pereira has a frame as big as Ngannou though he lacks some muscle. But still ... this is not surprising since Alex Pereira was a striker since day one and is a 2 division Kickboxing World Champion before he even stepped in to the UFC. Kickboxers punch more per training session than MMA fighters. Kickboxers punch less per training session only compared to pure Boxers.
As someone that used these power punching machines before, they are quiet flimsily to say the least. I wouldn't read much into them. For example the hardest punch I recorded was a right hook, even though I could feel my straight right was easily harder. Yet the machine was rating my right hooks easily header than my straight rights. I got a bit suspicious than and there...
Or Maybe your right hook was really stronger than your straight right? Your perceived strength and your actual strength are 2 different things. The hook has more of your legs and torso in it than the straight. And 80% of punching power comes from the legs and torso
Hooks are generally harder than Straights if you're name isn't Lennox Lewis or Conor McGregor. Straights are precision punches, while hooks are generally your brute force punches. I have a hard time believing any striking novice has a harder Straight than a hook just based on the biomechanics of the punch alone.
@@kennyhouser3467 Not a striking novice, been training for over 15 years. Also my straight right isnt just a precision punch, I put power into it and lean into it, where some padholders have had trouble holding the focus mints for it. I think the fact the machine clocked Ngannou punch at literally 3 times more than Aspinals, & Alex Perreira, as way harder than Ngannou's punch tells you there's something abit off with them, and they're not entirely reliable.
The weight of the gloves increases the load of the punch any one with a brain cell would know this. And Alex definitely isn’t wearing no 10oz gloves lol. That’s are 12-14oz gloves. Men his size dont wear 8-10oz gloves. That’s what 147lbers wear, not 235lbs.
Where can I take this test. My hardest punch was when I had a lot of friends watching me on my bday I closed my eyes and hit the punch machine, I’ve shut it off completely while the whole machine tilts up.
The machine does not lie. Look at Alex's bone structure. At 235 pounds, he looks like he need to eat. Pereira is one in a 5 billion type of athlete. I wish he would have showed up in the UFC years ago. He is getting old. We missed out on much of his career.
If you look at the MAIN difference-- The two highest results-- the sensor was mounted very solidly. When Aspenall hit it, the whole stand was jumping around and moving. it's never going to have a real reading if the thing can move around.
Kickboxers/boxers in general always delivers more powerful strikes compared to mma fighters due to technique and the fight setting, This is always proven when mma goes against boxers. Coner threw a bunch of pillow punches and Floyd didn't even have to rely on his known defense due to how light the punches are compared to top tier boxers and Vice Versa because mma fighters are not used to receiving boxing tier punches so it always lead to being knocked out.
yeah, when Tom punched, the machine wasn't bolted to the wall plus his wall was padded, this would definitely absorb a lot of the impact. That would definitely take away the power of the punch. They need to rethink this test. Pereira is still a beast though.
Look at the elbow. Do you bench press with your elbows up, or with them closer to the torso? Tight movement will ALWAYS out-power the looping shots. The latter MAY have 'pop', but the sheer power is lost.
They should explain how the machine is measuring the force.. Is it just peak force.. or is it some sort of average over several mili seconds? Is there a plate pushing on a sensor? Or is it pushing on 4 sensors, one in each corner?? There are a lot of questions to be answered before this test can even be considered relevant. I want to see the actual sensor data on an oscilloscope and see how they are converted that to a number. There is some sort of calculation happening.. That's why it can be gamed by some but not others. If you really think Pereira can punch 6x harder than Aspenall-- then you're smok^n the good stuff.
Lets be honest 95 horse power for a punch is crazy he would knock peoples heads off we see what sludgehammers do to concrete and ur head or face is not concrete or cinder block
Yeh. Bigger gloves generate more concussive force due to the wider surface area, whereas the mma gloves are more concentrated. On top of that he has better technique. These machines are all different and highly likely have different sensitivities. Only an !diot would believe he actually hits harder than Ngannou, let alone hitting approx 6x harder than Aspinall.
The equipment they are testing on... Are they standardized? If not, atleast test the punching power of all people on the same day and on the same equipment.
Seems like the one Tom was hitting surely was shaking all over? When Alex did his strike, this one seems different and doesn’t move.. maybe this can help with accuracy of all data.. I am no pro in this field though , just an observarion
2nd machine is giving more space. The one where Gannou is punching seems to be close to the wall not allowing him to rotate fully. Comparison should be more fair to decide 😊
Alex hits hard without a doubt. But ngannou knocks people out from the strangest punches. He generates power from every angle it feels like. Alex seems to have his technique down to near perfection with his hooks though. I definitely wouldn’t want to be hit by either of them 😂
I am so baffled at how many people take such an inconsistent and inaccurate machine at face value. The only valid comparison of Ngannou, Aspinall, and Pereira would be on the same machine in the same room, one after the other, with staff ensuring the machine isn't off. What's more, a punch that hits the mark right of a small sensor doesn't measure power, but the delivery.
I feel like they tweaked the numbers to discredit Francis because there’s a new UFC cash cow . You can’t be the scariest fighter without getting rid of the old one .

craziest thing is he is wearing boxing gloves getting that high score
Doesn't mean anything, maybe it's even helping.
It's not a face, with bones, that you have to smash. It's a pad. You gotta generate as much force as possible in the widest area possible
@@S.O.A_Zerono its not helping bigger surface means less pressure aka more force distribution which wont hit the sensor
thats why its harder to knockout someone with bigger gloves than smaller
@@S.O.A_Zero no, the more the force is concentrated in a small area, the more power you will get. We're not talking about damage but power by square inches, let say. But maybe the way the machine is built it transfer more force with a wider impact, that I don't know.
@@mat..n.7061 That's what i'm saying
@@S.O.A_Zero but still unless the power cubes are all messed up & tweaks to different setting all I know is it definitely makes sense
You can see just by the impact that Alex is a different level....
@@a14567 Had pad holders say the same thing to be honest, that my straight right is hardest punch.
@@AlexHellene -agree, as long as they not punch on the same machine it is senseless to compare....
Fixing tires by hand and pulling out rubber from tires all days every day since you are 11 (which is very sad btw), but Alex is just built differently
Let's See AJ test that machine. The screen would fall off the wall.
I want to see what the left hook number is?
Alex uses 10oz gloves.. Francis used 4oz gloves… Alex power is craaazzzy
@@leatherman1484 it's shocking how little people know this, heavier gloves add more mass, so the sheer force increases
Ngannou hits a lot harder
I feel like these are about as accurate as the machines at the bar
How many kg is it(punch) ?
Just watch Alex's form his power comes from the hips.
Let's see Tyson hit the machine. Asking for a friend... Lol
Alex's punch is behind his shoulder Tom is all arm. Power comes from the feet through the shoulder and the arm follows.
"YELLOWW" 😂 I can't stop
Old heads didn't know" bone density"
They called it "heavy hands"
I mean isn’t it literally the same thing
And Alex was wearing a 16oz glove!!!!
Gloves only protect hands not face
@@CenkHoca thats bullshit gloves are to protect the face from cuts wraps are to protect your hands ✋
Where can I take this test. My hardest punch was when I had a lot of friends watching me on my bday I closed my eyes and hit the punch machine, I’ve shut it off completely while the whole machine tilts up.
Nick name Poatan is not bullshit. Alex is tall & lanky, really large fists, good technique and kinetic chain works. Perfect combo to hit hard.
the most feared hook in the actual times
The machine does not lie. Look at Alex's bone structure. At 235 pounds, he looks like he need to eat. Pereira is one in a 5 billion type of athlete. I wish he would have showed up in the UFC years ago. He is getting old. We missed out on much of his career.
Perfect analysis
Complete rubbish.
How come Izzy only got 60k on this machine? He is a kickboxer.
@@LDrift izzy dont have no power...hes a counter striker
Alex 's A Striker Alright..But Certainly No where Near Nganou.
yeah, when Tom punched, the machine wasn't bolted to the wall plus his wall was padded, this would definitely absorb a lot of the impact. That would definitely take away the power of the punch. They need to rethink this test. Pereira is still a beast though.
as accurate at bodyfat testing machines
lol probably less
There is an obvious glitch in the machine. Gtfoh.
😂😂😂
Not only power but he is so technical with the strike and twisting and hips add to it
Please.
Tell me more
The upper part of the machine wasn't fixed on the wall for aspinal no wonder the captor didn't work properly
That man is about to break the machine with that strength for real!
To be fair, the machine was loose when Tom punched. It was not attached to the wall as in other ones
OMG how do you stand up after getting hit with that
Look at the elbow. Do you bench press with your elbows up, or with them closer to the torso? Tight movement will ALWAYS out-power the looping shots. The latter MAY have 'pop', but the sheer power is lost.
Boom. Elastic recoil
Alex vs Hill fight is a wrap! 😂😂😂
Are those two 45’s weights on Aspinals video? 😂😂😂 He has to be at a UK gym
His left look is insane. I mean he just KO'd Jamahal Hill in R1
What does ones "lankiness" have to do with their Muscle density..?
Nganoo wear ufc gloves and Alex boxing 14" gloves is not comparable
That kickboxing ko clip was exactly the same punch he used against Jamal Hil. Guy is deadly!!!
can that bigger glove used by alex be a factor? just an honest question because francis used mma gloves.
Alex Pereira é o Rei dessa savana chamada UFC
The equipment they are testing on... Are they standardized? If not, atleast test the punching power of all people on the same day and on the same equipment.
The moment they said Joe Pyfer hits harder than Ngannou that machine lost all credibility
Bigger smile than when he won the titles 🤣
Alex hits hard without a doubt. But ngannou knocks people out from the strangest punches. He generates power from every angle it feels like. Alex seems to have his technique down to near perfection with his hooks though. I definitely wouldn’t want to be hit by either of them 😂
Very good hip acceleration, everything else follows
I am so baffled at how many people take such an inconsistent and inaccurate machine at face value.
The only valid comparison of Ngannou, Aspinall, and Pereira would be on the same machine in the same room, one after the other, with staff ensuring the machine isn't off.
What's more, a punch that hits the mark right of a small sensor doesn't measure power, but the delivery.
Ufc fans are not known for their IQ or critical thinking skills.
Francis did it with an mma glove. Gonna be different tbh
What do the numbers represent?
I feel like they tweaked the numbers to discredit Francis because there’s a new UFC cash cow . You can’t be the scariest fighter without getting rid of the old one .
