      Amusingly an anagram of Creality is literacy. Amusing because a consequence of literacy limitations is choice which appear as patterns. Patterns being one of, if not the biggest tell there's something fishy going on. Almost certainly explains their printer line-ups naming convention, too. Ender, Max, Neo, Plus, Pro, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 & a hyphen. :p And Creality, don't take it personally, I'm messing around (and ordering one of your contraptions this afternoon ;)

    Full Klipper control is something all companies should release to the users!

    • @ThePrintHouse
      @ThePrintHouse  Před 9 měsíci +11

      Beyond releasing source code, klipper should also implement a requirement to allow FULL control to the user. I understand having an "easy" mode for new users which is a more locked down klipper version, but every manufacturer should have an "advanced" mode which is simply a fully unlocked klipper.

    I also wonder about all these new corexy printers and how the maintenance, support and repair experience will play out over time. Parts are going to wear, fall out of alignment, and/or break as time goes by. I would be interested in another K1 update video in the future after your K1 has more "miles" on it and you have a more long term K1 ownership experience. Thanks for the videos.

    Exceptional review. After several communications, they responded that they will be sending replacements for the original parts "very soon". What do you mean by open, as in open source? Does that mean it's better than the bambu in this regard since I heard everything they do is proprietary. Sorry still new to these.

    • @reasonablebeing5392
      @reasonablebeing5392 Před 8 měsíci

      @@rodiculous9464 Yes open source. If you are OK with closed source and their cloud-based information rights, Bambu is a great printer. This is a new generation of consumer printers (ultra-fast coreXY with AI features) that Bambu gets the credit for creating. If you do some searching - there are many 3D printer companies announcing or releasing printers like this so your choices will become even more difficult. I like the K1 and Creality because it is open source and third-party aftermarket products are beginning to emerge (Micro Swiss Flowtech hot end for example). It also has the lowest price point for entry for a volume-produced printer. There are many of these printers out in the world now and community-supported. You can dip your toes into this water without spending a ton of money.

    Hello. I am going to buy a K1 soon. As this will be my first Klipper-based printer, I don't understand some of the aspects.
    1. What benefits does unlocked Klipper give?
    2. Will I lose any functionality compared to the stock firmware?
    3. If Creality changes something in their original firmware, will they implement the same change in Klipper?
    Could you answer my questions please? Thanks in advance.

    • @ThePrintHouse
      @ThePrintHouse  Před 9 měsíci +3

      Sure!
      1) There is too much to mention here. You will need to look that up separately. The BLUF: The firmware itself is physically designed better. The team designing it seems to be more focused on quality. There are advanced cutting edge features.
      2) You will lose nothing. You will only gain features. Likely as a first time klipper users you wont use them until you understand them, which could be a long time, but until you get a klipper machine you will never be able to learn.
      3) Creality will likely not be modifying the original one anymore, but if they do, I suspect it will also be in klipper version.

      @@ThePrintHouse good to know. This is my first 3D printer. microcenter had a 375 coupon for it. it was also the updated version with the upgraded parts luckily. My only grip with it is the software like you said and the way it feeds filament into it. I like to use a dryer because our house is humid and the angles from filament from a sunlu S2 isnt great. I had, just today, issues with Inland Twinkle Rainbow pulling away in the extruder or it snapped off inside the tube because of how the run out sensor is placed, its a sharp angle. I wish they gave us options to mount it other ways.

    I mostly print toys in PLA to sell. So If I was going to buy another machine to up my production with the idea that I would likely need more in the future what machine would I get? Of course the K1 and P1S are at the top of my list but Im kind of wondering if its worth it to buy those for the speed alone. The AMS is an attractive option too. I wonder if Creality will come out with a multi filament system in the near future? Youd have to think they would but nothing being said about it yet. Anyway, Think its worth it to spend the money on a speedy printer or just buy more enders? P.S. I have had quite a few issues with my 3v2neo that has cost me time and money but Im sure thats ever printer at some point.

    • @ThePrintHouse
      @ThePrintHouse  Před 9 měsíci

      I also operate a 3d printing business. I used to use E3 V2. I had my machines dialed in but even still, it was slow and print quality wasnt great. I would 100% get one of the new core XY printers. If you want to print color then of course go bambu, but if you have anything you sell in single color I would just get the K1. Printing in color is definitely something you need to consider NOT doing. It will slow production and cost more money. In order to make it worth it you likely need multiple machines with AMS as well as an increased price tag which customers are willing to pay.

Also maybe the Anker can be easier to either resell or give away to a less technicall family member in the future when i am probably upgrading to a more advanced model like a Bambulab with multicolor etc in the future.
      But then again maybe the K1 will be a more intresting steppingcurve to bite into as a beginner and wont leave me wanting more as quickly as the Anker would.

      @@BayCon632 The fan is obviously turned on by gcode, so a few things are at play here: If it is firmware operated, then in my testing it never triggered on. I find this to be an unlikely scenario. If it was not firmware operated, with the recent updates it could NOW BE firmware operated, which would make it work with cura now but not a few weeks ago. Again I find this an unlikely option. The most likely situation is that the fan is operated by gcode that is generated in the slicer which is why creality print works and cura doesnt. Creality print can be customized heavily by creality where as cura is not a product creality can modify. Without ragging on my fellow creators, I typically find my videos to be significantly more in depth and take longer to produce for that reason alone. It wouldnt surprise me if that is a detail left out by all other creators. As creators, we are used to having 5 - 10 slicers to use at all times, so it could just be numb on everyone at this point, so it is not something others would mention. The last option is that Im entirely wrong and it did activate and I just randomly vividly remember it never turning on with Cura. I will never discredit the possibility of being wrong.
