Eagerly looking forward to see how Hayden Christensen applies his saber skills in Kenobi 💪
Original video belongs to Movie List - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Hayden is probably the most skilled lightsaber fighter out of all the actors who have held a lightsaber. He is just a natural.

Second place must be Ewan defo.
Dude is literally my hero when it comes to lightsaber fights. A true fan of his craft. Love to see it.
The techniques on those padawans were extraordinary.
Jokes apart, he is my Hero for being patience
I wanna see Hayden and Ray Park in an epic lightsaber battle with prequel level moves.
Hayden trained for 11 weeks? God damn thats dedication and why the prequel fights are so good.
And he's still got them, if Ahsoka S01E05 is any indicator...his fights with Ahsoka in the World Between Worlds definitely included stuff he learned 20 years ago from Nick Gillard for RoTS. Didn't hate the saber battles in the prior 4 episodes... but episode 5's fights were a new level just from Hayden getting to use prequel trilogy saber choreography moves 😊
@@generalilbis Yeah, not that the fights are bad, but man the first scene with him when he does the twirl I was just like JFC I miss this guy.
@@generalilbisEntirely agree. disney needs to bring Nick Gillard back
This is for the ROTS movie tie-in game
Now a days they do 2 weeks and it looks like garbage
Hayden's acting was great
I don't disagree
Coming from the creation himself, Anakin Skywalker, that makes me say, "hmmm"

@@theblasteffect4499 I hope so too , I shall seek obi wan's help ASAP
@@anakinskywalker6347 hi
0:50 I really get this, I remember every time I watch the duel on Mustafar or the shooting of it, training etc., I get goosebumps at how Hayden/Anakin really _goes_ for Obi. His aggression, his self-assurance, how quick his steps are, it's magnificent embodyment of arrogance and the Dark side, I always dig Hayden's performance and commitment to this particular scene
Seeing this now and learning that Hayden really put in a lot of direction of how Anakin should be the aggressor during the duel, and the way he portrayed it, gives me so much more appreciation for him on top of what I already had. The whole fight Anakin has Obi-Wan back pedaling. He's trying to cut him down the whole way through. Knowing Hayden understood this and made sure to portray this as much as possible makes the fight so much more rewarding. The final duel is literally the best thing in the prequels, and knowing Hayden had some creative freedom to execute that is so cool to hear.
And now watching him in action in the Ahsoka series once again, we can really really appreciate what he brings to the table as far as lightsaber dueling. Anakin is supposed to be the greatest warrior of his time. Hayden does it justice. No one really matches up to him when it comes to his lightsaber choreography.
I always consider Hayden/Anakin as my childhood super star when it comes to star war. Never understand how people could hate the guy.
The legend has returned and his power may have doubled since the last time we saw him.
Good, exponential power, exponential fall
Do u still love him
He has returned again tonight and WOW
@@yachiyous9110Great one
People really gave him the gears for his performance as Anakin, but it seems that a lot of that truly came down to the dialogue aspect. Actors don't have a say in what lines they are given, cringe or otherwise. Haydens true performance is in his physical acting, which tells a far deeper story than his words. One of the best.
Hayden's physical performance was Vader in the flesh.
Hayden is a really good actor... But as you say, dialog and more importantly, direction (the director that is) definitely contributes a lot. Let's face it, George Lucas is a horrible director. Most of the best of Star Wars he no hand in the direction (Empire?).
@@WHJeffBLet's be real Empire was the only good one.
Came to say just this. All this behind the scenes has given me such an appreciation for Hayden that wasn't there back in the day. He was clearly enthusiastic and dedicated to it. Man was given dud dialogue to work with though.
Hayden's wooden dialog was him trying to replicate the way Vader speaks in the original trilogy. think about it
Hayden is the absolute king of lightsaber fighting. He's completely unrivaled among all the other SW actors. Seeing him wield a lightsaber again as both Anakin and Vader in the latest Ahsoka episode was incredible. Really highlights how skilled he is that he makes it look so natural, elegant and flowing.
Also highlights how little training Rosario did. Hayden completely carried her and did all the work.
@@Biscuits645 I think she did a decent job but it really highlights how far apart the prequel duels were from all the more recent stuff. They were on another level and especially any involving Hayden. When Rosario or other current SW actors in recent works, I've enjoyed their lightsaber scenes but put them with a pro like Hayden? And the difference becomes apparent.
@@Vixin24 I probably would have liked it more if I didn't know Ahsoka as a character. She doesn't fight anything like the Ahsoka I know. She's slow and doesn't really use agility. No clever moves, she's very basic. You are right about putting anyone with Hayden though, he is just THAT good. It was nice to see he still has it. You're also right about how far apart the prequel duels are to anything else we have. They were on a different level. I wish they would hire Nic Gillard.
@@Biscuits645 animated Ahsoka duels amazingly but realistically that sort of stuff is almost impossible to pull off in live action (just like the length of her lekku/montrals). It bugs me a bit but I have to just separate the animated and live action stuff in my head and see the animated as taking more creative liberties. Like that scene in Ahsoka where she went outside in the space suit would be super normal in animation but many people thought it looked too cheesy in live action. It's a difficult line to cross. Plus I guess the character is in her 40s now she wouldn't be as agile as when she was a teenager.
I would really love for them to hire Nic Gillard and bring more of that fluidity back to the duels like in the prequels. Hayden is proof that it can look amazing if the person trains hard and it's choreographed well so I hope whenever they make another star wars movie, they bring that back.
@@Vixin24 To be fair when she fought maul in the clone wars in the last season they used motion capture suits and they absolutely nailed it. So it can be done. Also force sensitive Togruta can live for 200 years so she might not be that old. I do agree she wouldn't be as agile as a teenager but just some agility would have been nice or even just some better pacing on her duels would have been better. We don't need her to be flipping around everywhere but she could be a bit faster with some more creative choreography and it would have made all the difference.
Yea I agree not everything translates well to live action, that scene with the space suit was god awful, but I don't think it was because of her going outside, it just didn't make sense that the enemy ships would start doing fly by's on a ship that can't move when they could just surround it and destroy it or instead of shooting Ahsoka they could have shot the ship. If she had gone out to fight some droids on the ship that might have been better.
It would be awesome to bring Nic back and like you say, Hayden is proof that even in your 40s with the right training and choreography it can be done.
That he’s still making this look so effortless twenty years later is freakin’ magical.
It’s just muscle memory. It’s like playing an instrument, singing, dancing, doing a sport, swimming, cycling, typing fast on a keyboard, gaming, whatever, very simple.
“You lack conviction.”
And yet they got somebody else to do his voice for the computer game while they had him RIGHT THERE in front of them, seriously did nobody thing to ask him to say a few lines into a mic that day!!?!?!
Seems ridiculous they hired him for the moves but not the voice.
Maybe he was too expensive
@@infoluminux Yeah, movie actors are far more expensive than normal voice actors .
@@elfather2045 this was at the time of revenge of the sith, maybe Hayden was being payed a lot more than a current voice actor, even for doing voice acting. Never asked yourself why we didn't get the official actors to voice The Clone Wars series ??? Take a hint.. money. And yes, they voiced TCW movie, I know. Different budget (movie-wise).
@@infoluminux Im pretty sure the clone wars was voiced by another guy because hayden was keeping it on the low for a bit. He was most likely done at this point because of all the hate
Hayden returned as Anakin in the Ahsoka series and his skills with swordplay has not waned one bit. The way he attacks with the saber today is the same as it was all those years ago.
I lived through the early 2000's days of people panning the prequels for being "flashy" and lacking the substance of the Originals. Star Wars is supposed to be FUN. When I think of ESB, I think of the At-At battle and Luke vs Vader. To me, an actor putting in 11 weeks of training for a lightsaber duel is just as valuable as putting in the same 11 weeks training for a dramatic role. That's what's missing from most of Disney SW. The fun and imagination is gone. The fact that they aren't trying to recapture the frantic action of the prequels in any medium is infuriating. Well, we'll see what The Acolyte has in store...
It makes sense now, he is an actual black belt in Karate. It looks so natural for him both in the old movies and now in Ahsoka. You can clearly see he has talent in martial arts. I hope they use him tons more, he is still young.
He also played tennis and hockey in high school, so he's no stranger when it comes to using sticks.
@@SpFlash1523 gifted eye-hand coordination
He put in so much work, I’m glad he’s finally getting the love he deserves. I’ve always enjoyed watching him in the prequels, and I’m glad the older folks are finally coming around!
👍🏽 and let me assure you that a lot of us old people have always been there, we just didn't always have all the now-well-developed technology resources or skills to hook up and express ourselves to larger audiences. I say well done to everyone who kept the faith
My inner nerd feels so validated after all these years hearing that his choreography was right in line with his character during the fight.
The transition from real hayden to video game is some fantastic editing. Nostalgic feel
But that game is almost 20 years old. Imagine what some 2024 mocap could do for those movements.
Yes that
His character is the choosen one
And he himself lived up that expectation
Cringe line isnthe script writer doing
But he deliver those line perfectly
The entire issue with the prequels was bad writing. From nonsensical choices to retconning or outright ignoring previously established facts from the original trilogy.
The performances were all fairly grand. Not saying everyone gave it their all or that they couldn't have used a few better takes, but I've no problem with the performances and never have.
He's become a true craftsman with the light saber. You csn tell he's been practicing and perfecting all his moves. A pure joy to watch for sure. So happy he's back and reprising his roles.
He's such an inspiration to all of us swordfighting affectionados
Yep. He's the reason I want to try swordfighting.

Wow, I noticed in Revenge Of The Sith Anakin’s Lightsaber form and technique have improved drastically to the point u can see the confidence of his move set. He is in complete control. Phenomenal!!! Just subscribed notifications bell on!!!
His skills are off the charts - truly epic light saber
I just got goosebumps watching this. Man im a geek for starwars 😂
His movements are so graceful especially when he was fighting Dooku.
I'm loving the Leafs cap!
He freakin killed it with the lightsaber tricks
Got this video in my recommended section. Hope this gets more views. Smaller creators don't get a lot.
It's really nice how much thought Hayden put into this, and how well he can tell a story with posture and movement.
Man, that game was Great, I still have it as my treasure. Really happy I still can play it in my xbox series x
Its crazy how enjoyable it is to watch Hayden doing anything But those movies.
Anyone seen Life As A House?
Hayden Christensen, Ewan Mc Gregor, and Ray Park are the best lightsaber duelist Star Wars has ever created. And other than the KOTOR trailers know ones gotten close.
Christopher Lee as well.
Those light saber battles were the best fight scenes ever! And Nick Gillard is an absolute master!
This is how I learned Hayden Chrsitensen is Canadian
He still looks exactly the same as he was 20 years ago
Nah... Definitely looks older, but yeah, the skills with the lightsaber are definitely still there.
It’s so perfect that Hayden is actually the best at LightSaber combat and techniques, like it was meant to be. And the fact that the ONLY person who could even give him an actual fight is THE Ewan??? It’s just *chefs kiss* perfection
The prequels were not perfect but my goodness were they awesome in many ways like this.
Everyone talking about Hayden's comeback, and literally no one is talking about Ryan Wieber in the beginning of the video? Bro made the best lightsaber duels on youtube.
The game was one of my favorites of the star wars games I remember screaming from excitement once it was put on xbox one because for YEARS I wanted to play it all the old original star wars xbox games were the GOAT and they were ahead of their time
Got this recommended and almost had a heart attack thinking it was from Kenobi..... anyway welcome lord Vader, we had been expecting you
He was born for this.
This game was a delight to play.
Dismembering those droid and troopers was so damn satisfying
Hayden and Nick are legends
This game was a forgotten gem, and the effort and impact of the love that went into it still shows. The combat is great, the characters are great, the body language details in the game and such. A great game
Hayden is sooo amazing actor star war would have been nothing without him god bless him for he's another anointed one welcome back hayden❤❤❤❤
Its great to have Nick Gillard to work on the sword fighting
that game was actually sweet for a movie tie-in hack n slash type thing
Hayden is truly the baddest bad ass with a light saber
I've been defending this man forever and now he everyones homie 😂
Then here comes Daisy Ridley walking in swinging it like a baseball bat 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
To be fair, that's what they ASKED for, bad direction, bad choreography, what is she supposed to do about that?
Also, her character isn't a trained Jedi. Which is like 90% of what she gets flak for, since Rey has impressive force powers... *too* impressive, in fact, as she accomplishes way more than any other untrained Force user should ever be able to.
Literally none of it is on Daisy Ridley. I would love to see all of the Sequel characters get a second chance like Hayden and the others have been getting, to really show what they can do with a competent writing team and prequel-level choreography.
They still have time to make a full live action clone wars series . Hayden still got the moves and he's not that old yet
I loved those games. Cool to know why they looked so good
This game was very fun, I remember unlocking this video in the extras on the PS2
I really love the Star Wars video game it was one of my favorite games of all time
I loved it as a kid too.
The boomers are so wrong to hate this gem of a man. His Anakin is the GOAT!!!
I absolutely love ALL THE ❤ HAYDEN IS GETTING. He really deserves it. All the nonsense and craps he had to put up with originally was not fair.
Hopefully we will have MORE HAYDEN In future everything.
It's sad, but the more I hear about the work Hayden Christensen put into this and the passion he clearly had, the more I realise it was the writing that was the problem with the prequels, and the more of a raw deal he obviously got as a result of the negative reception the films got
This game is so slept on. They need to remaster it
He was very good on Ahsoka ❤
Well, he's the chosen one❤
0:12... Slowing this part down on the DVD was exactly how I learned how to spin my lightsaber like that.
A lot of people will reference his scenes from ROTS, but you also see elements of his influence and input in AOTC whenever he has a lightsaber.
He is indeed Anakin. Lucas was right.
He’s just so precious
There’s only one other actor I would want to see with a LightSaber…Viggo Mortensen. He was heralded by an actual Master Swordsman during his training for LotR as the most naturally gifted and best Swordsman he has ever trained. I mean, he deflected a freakin DAGGER that was accidentally thrown at him!! And they kept it in!! That’s always blown my mind. That that wasn’t supposed to happen and Viggo literally had the reflexes, reaction time, and actual SKILL to deflect it. He would be a monster with a saber.
imagine a duel between viggo and hayden.. that would be epic
@@Lyaagato unstoppable force vs immovable wall. round 1.
This just makes me wanna go back and play the game all over again. Good thing I have it on the PCSX2 Emulator. I love how it transitions from around 1:46 into the game's CGI intro. That's pretty dope!
Hayden as the next witcher?? Sounds pretty good to me the guy could pull off a great monotone persona quite naturaly like a witcher would.
Was just thinking this while playing Wild Hunt! He's got the pirouettes and overall style down, and the prequels choreography is so Witcher.
Hayden actually played a witcher-like character in "The Outcast."
As the next witcher? Nah. I'd rather there be no next witcher with how they butchered the lore at this point. Hayden gets a bad rep for his acting in the prequels sometimes, but I don't think that has much to do with him. He would be great for action scenes but I just can't see him carrying the story beyond that. The monotone part as you mentioned, yeah he can do it. But the rest of the entire persona? I don't know about that. Henry Cavill struggled to do it even though he was trying to remain as faithful as possible to the lore and books. Cavill did a decent job. I can't imagine who in the world they think can do better than "decent" with their script that is better used as toilet paper.
The you realize that the in-game lightsaber fights from then on (Force Unleashed, Battlefront, Jedi: Survivor) follow this pioneer.
0:16 same here too and I trained to spin a lightsaber
Ah yes, the ancient Jedi art of always attacking your opponent's guard and never going for the many gaps in their defence 😅
this was a phenomenal game, really loved playing it back in the day. played the crap out of it with my dad, glad they had multiplayer :)
what game was it
Anyone else think that Hayden was slowed down a lot so that Rosario could keep up in Ahsoka?
Considering all the training and actual saber fight scenes that Hayden's had, compared to Rosario, is it really that surprising?

If all the actors had lightsaber sparring matches theres no doubt in my mind that Hayden would win
Hayden was not acting to appear competent. He was just competent. And we were allowed to witness it.
It’s really inspiring
I great choreography in movies
i have hopes that Hayden will save the future of star wars🙌🏻
So underrated its C R A Y Z E E
Between him and Ray park they arr probably my favorite
Amazing
The synchronized padwan:master pirouette is pretty cute.
HAYDEN Christensen have best Videos. 😂
Anyone complaining about the current lightsaber duels in Star Wars…do you REALLY think anyone is going to match Ewan and Hayden??? They have unique chemistry.
0:45 Naah, we noticed, and he bossed it. 💪
We goes from these to what we have now.
Hayden just absent-mindedly swinging and practicing looks better than Disney's highly edited final product.
And that is a crazy detail. In life, you take a posture to convey power, but if you're in combat and just "Felt Evil, might retcon later", that's pretty based.
Love him ❤
I simply have no words. It's as if he was born to be Anakin.
Hayden, Ewan and Ray are probably the best lightsabre actors in existence.
Not only is Hayden stunning to watch but remember that during the filming of duel of the fates Ewan and Ray moved so quick they had to slow down the footage because it felt unnatural how quick they moved.
