No because it is a legitimate worry. The thinner something gets the more you worry it will break. This videos purpose was to show you that it’s not an eggshell, you don’t have to be overly cautious when using it.
You have no idea how durable this device is based on this test. It could break from a 1 foot fall and you'd never know from this video. That's why it's a stupid test.
did we watch the same video? an ipad pro which is the most expensive tablet currently - should be able to bend at ALL with the use of hands lmao - the host has sticks for arms lmao .
Let’s be real. That is still crazy good enough durable and genuinely impressive engineering. It’s performed may better than I expected and no one is putting that much force on their iPad.
well, if you pick it up and start twisting it with as much force as you can muster yeah... it bends. as a lot of other piece of electronic that thin lmao
If you call a grown man trying to bend it as hard as he can easily bent, then sure it bends. If you treat it like a £1300 device and give it the care it deserves, that bend test is very reassuring for such a thin device.
Just a heads up, I know you know more about tech than I do, but please make sure the battery is removed or at least fully drained before you do this to prevent a puncture then fire or explosion next time
I mean that's still impressive that it held a bend like that and was working. Generally speaking most people have the keyboard cases or something for these so this would never be an issue for 99.99% of people.
I like that they make it thin, like they don’t know people will immediately put a case on it because it’s far too expensive to not protect and too thin to properly hold.
bruhhhh thats soooooo far thioooooo you could easily sit on it 100 times and still be fine. im so happy with the results yall had. take my money tim!!!!!
I think it's actually a good thing to show under which stress this product can and does fail. Knowing that it takes really a lot of force to permanently damage it makes me think that Apple did enough to strengthen it
That raised my respect for apple even further. Obviously you should never treat your device like that, but the fact that it was still working bent that far is SO impressive
zack from jerryrigeverything has bend tested it. the failure point metal frame on the usb c port creates pressure point that crack the screen. iPad isn't bend resistant when you bend it the other side
"iPad Pro comes in two great finishes - Silver and new Space Black. The durable enclosure is made of 100 percent recycled aluminum in the enclosure." This is the text on the official website. I would change it from "durable" to "breakable" for the 13" model. Now everybody is buying Ipads just to destroy them. 😅 Great video!
The same point of failure as JRE, the USB-C port seems to jut out and crack the screen, and the thin metal that surrounds the USB-C port gives out easily. Luckily the chance of bending the device in vertical orientation seems less likely. That being said, even if it didn't give out, a horizontal bent is very easy to happen as the device sits inside a backpack, or somwthing of that sort.
I'd like to see a drop test with these new ipad pros and the older M2 vr. I've already seen so many others doing this but hav not come across any drop test, as dropping your ipad is a very common factor as it's likely bound to happen to most of us carrying it around...

Don't bend your iPad
Imagine buying one and your kid breaks it by stepping on it😭
