FAKE SHINY Pokemon Giveaways on YOUTUBE - How & Why Cloned Legendary Pokemon Sword Events Exist!

  • We are back talking about yet another video covering fake, hacked and clones shiny legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield: The Crown Tundra. In this video I will be taking a stab at a fairly... controversial... topic, which is Shiny Pokemon Giveaways on CZcams and Twitch. The reason I decided to tackle this topic is because a large number of my viewers have come to my stream mentioning they got shiny Pokemon from a variety of CZcams Like Blaines or 2DOS and the question they ask me is always the same. Are these Pokemon real?
    SO, as the guy who spends WAYYYY too much time looking at Fake Pokemon, I've decided to tackle this to help educate everyone on the legality of these giveaways as well as the risks. I also talk about a couple more advanced topics that I don't typically cover in my videos such a pkhex and Static PIDs. NONETHELESS, ONE THING NEEDS TO BE PERFECTLY CLEAR. I AM NOT MAKING THIS VIDEO TO INSPIRE ANY HATE TOWARDS BLAINES OR ANY OF THE OTHER CONTENT CREATORS FEATURED IN THIS VIDEO. The purpose of this video is just to demonstrate how these fake Pokemon are made and shed some light to the risks and rules surrounding these Pokemon.
    Part of why I'm doing this is because the poeple who host these giveaways very rarely, if ever, provide info on how these giveaway Pokemon are made or how any of this is even possible.
    Also, I stream on CZcams MWF and Sunday from 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM PT, so feel free to stop by when I’m live. Hope to see you there!

    I agree Blaines makes it often look like everything he gives away is legit, but im not sure if copy pasting Pokemon is legit even tho the event Pokemon was. As a shiny hunter myself I think this is just an alternative to using an action replay. And since its a well known fact Blaines doesn't have time for shiny hunting, which is completely reasonable cause some full odds hunts take up an ridiculous amount of time (im still hunting for a shiny shaymin at 7936 encounters currently) and he has a full time job as an English teacher. So we can assume all of these Pokemon like the regi's from sword and shield which are only obtainable from these games are created using a computer generating software or a bot. The rest of the event shinies, idk they could be legit but duplication or cloning always gets a red flag in my book.

      There are methods of “shinifying” and “un-shinifying” Pokemon by editing their data, which also applies to changin their stats. There are tools for this for the game, such as using the online “Beri Bot” tool (which Blaines just so happened to make a video on), so chances are he just used Beri Bot on the non-event Pokemon (eg the Regirock), then use Missingno in the daycare to duplicate them.
      However he did it, or however we phrase it, it’s definitely using non-legit methods. I understand why he does it, it works very well for him, however it is a little dodgy. Not necessarily incredibly illegal, just a red flag, like you mentioned.
      His Pokemon Unite content is lit though, gotta give him that.

    TPC and various gaming outlets currently have a promotion of getting Shiny Eternatus when pre-ordering Scarlet and Violet between September 16th and October 1st 2022; the video Blaines released today, however, is about him distributing said Eternatus via his bots. At the 1:45 mark of the video, the "met on" date reads 05/04/2020; on top of the date red flagging the Pokemon, some people remarked about theirs becoming bad eggs.

    Here's the thing, I'd have much less of a problem with this if he wasn't grifting people out of their money and just had all of it remain free. He's literally taking advantage of people's ignorance. Cus the sad part here, when it comes to the people who actually pay for his membership (or even the ones who waste hours trying to connect to the free bots, for that matter), is that if this is what you want to do then there's countless bots on discord that will trade you whatever you want for FREE once you give it a command, some of them even allow you to input your OT and TID. Some paid ones let you do even more and they cost less than Blaine's membership where you have no control over anything...yeah.
    Bots like those are exactly what he has set up too, just that he manufactures scarcity. But he isn't going to talk about this considering he can't fleece ignorant people anymore, so it just makes it extra scummy that he does this for something that's so openly available. It's intentionally misleading and he always acts so disingenuous and puts on this happy go-lucky persona ("hello my lovelies!") and his fake smile while he's so clearly taking advantage of people and their lack of awareness. I do not get good vibes from him, at all, never have, he's very likely a sociopath. I don't see how any of this okay.

No perfect ivs etc... my point is if I can't determine the legit ones from the clones, should I release them all, or just keep them apart of my personal collection. Also on home, is it possible to get in trouble for being sent hacked pokemon. Gotten a few through wonder trade and usually just send off again in wonder trade, but realised that was being scummy, so just started releasing them on home. Can having these pokemon cause any damage your home account or games? Again I'm totally against cheating. Never have, just feel dirty if I've received fake/cloned pokemom and have used them.

He obviously clones the Pokémon in his giveaways, but his giveaways are also some of the only ways to get a region locked mystery gift. Personally, I’m not a big fan of cloning, but I do support it if the Pokémon cannot be obtained at all legitimately (i.e. Diancie or Hoopa). I also do not like that The Pokémon Company locks content in the game I purchased (e.g. the Ash hat in the DLC) behind the mystery gift system. As the saying goes, piracy is fundamentally a service problem.

    Thanks for informing us and making this problem more aware for those who are getting tricked into these things. I never realised until recently that one of the giveaways I recently went to were fake. I only just got a shiny Spiritomb last week and I thought it was genuine until I was informed that the shiny giveaways were fake and were just hacked Pokémon.
    As a shiny hunter myself I don’t mind free, genuine shinies as gifts, but if they are hacked and generated through a program, I don’t agree with it.
    I myself love to shiny hunt legit Pokémon because that’s the beauty of it. You get it when it comes, not through some form of action replay.

  • @jordanorozco5666

    Just found this video and figured I’d chime in after watching and reading some comments lmao. So it’s obviously 2023 now, I 100000% agree that using these Pokémon competitively should be illegal, but Blaines still does these giveaways to this date( about to go grab a few violet exclusives he’s giving away😅). Anyway I think when he does the Event Pokémon giveaways it’s actually a really good service to the Pokémon Community seeing the VAST majority of players would never get them or even have the chance to for that matter. However I do dislike the shiny legendary giveaways I just see them as too fake to give away sometimes lol, but on that matter to each his own I guess. All of our opinions may vary but I think most can agree that SELLING ANY Pokémon is just wrong and should actually be illegal specifically the sellers on EBay and such, that sell “fake Pokémon” to make money idk it just feels wrong especially when people are already just giving them away. But again I mean I guess to each his own🤷🏽‍♂️ I will say though basically since the release of Let’s Go games that the popularity of shiny Pokémon has skyrocketed seeing as it became a lot easier to get them compared to pretty much all previous games. Not keeping the exact same mechanics but staying somewhat similar with the games since then and the implication of shiny charms(not actually sure when they came up with these😅) it’s expected that market for shinies obviously skyrocket as well. And by market I just mean the want of shinies by players. I saw another comment where someone said they were already multiple thousand encounters in, trying to shiny hunt and to so many average players that is just insane lmao so these giveaway’s definitely have their pros in my opinion. Personally I prefer the legit shinies as well but they are just insanely hard to get the specific ones you want sometimes 🤷🏽‍♂️ I think it better to use them to breed your own real Pokémon and shoot for shinies that way( it’s still a hunt trust me lol) but this way you’ll get your own OT and they are legal to use competitively!

    • @LetsNot
      @LetsNot  Před 2 lety +5

      Hey great question Dumbo! Specifically with Blaines giveaways the way most of them could be found is with Static PIDs. (I do also want to point out that I'm not sure Nintendo has ever issued a ban wave yet on duplicated Static PIDs but technically they could when using online services like Pokemon Home). However, while this would work with Lugia, the Ho-Oh is actually safer because it's supposed to have a Static PID, so unless the static PID is wrong it would be very hard to catch. Without taking both the giveaway one and a real one into hacking software it would be tough to tell if it's cloned from an original event or not 🙃

    • @LetsNot
      @LetsNot  Před 2 lety +1

      I dont think I've ever heard someone say Pokemon Go shinys are cheating! As far as shiny dens are concerned it depends. There is one method that involves using a third party software to tell you exactly when a den will be shiny so thats clearly an issues and when sword and shield first came out hacked raid dens were a huge issue with things like shiny shiny zacians and you'd get 999 of all items. If there’s one thing I’ve seen in a large amount of in the Pokemon community over the years, it’s elitism. One of the things I’ve noticed personally that always starts the argument of “Pokemon GO shinies aren’t real” is whenever I get into a discussion with somebody about how the shiny Darkrai that I have caught are technically the most legitimate method to obtaining this specific shiny mythical is recent years. Another aspect of GO shinies that often get called fake are community day Pokémon.
      As far as that specific situation regarding SWSH dens I definitely would consider that to be crossing the line as far as cheating, but for the most part the people who I’ve seen tend to use a discord bot to measure the amount of frames, or dates, to hunt for a specific den to be shiny. Then these people manually date skip their Switches to host the den.

I've definitely seen the same Elitism that you have and while I understand it, I oppose it and it's silly that someone would go so far as to call it cheating. Not liking something and it being cheating are very different things as I'm sure you'd agree.
      Also to the point of Raid Dens they really are a special little gray area if you will. Because while yes I'd argue that using a third party tool to tell you exactly what frame the shiny appears is cheating, the Pokemon that comes out of it will be completely real. You can hyper train in-game, you can change their natures easily in-game, as long as the base stats aren't tampered with, why does it matter where the pokemon come from? Besides people being butthurt

    Another ref flag for my Precious PokeKids + my Beloved PoKeBabies = “REAL shinies” who are hatched from eggs; and/or come from Max Lair & Raid Dens; NEVER come with stickers under their Profiles’ Ribbons tabs, lol.

      You are correct about the Japan bit. Square shinys are 1/32 odd when bred I believe. Maybe 1/16 (this was actually a coding error on Game Freaks part lol) So roughly same odds of a 6 IV shiny hatching

      Just so you know the events Blaines gives away are FAKE as well. Don't believe me go into Pokemon Home and check the distribution date for the event. The Start and End dates are wrong.

      If you got the Pokémon via a giveaway where it's stated the Pokémon are genned then the system will not be able to tell the difference. As the stats, OT, moves, flavour text etc are reinvented, the Pokémon are then made shiny via re-coding, a bit like the coin case glitch in Pokémon Gold/Silver. Genning/genned Pokémon are actually safer than Pokémon that can be cloned via ingame pc/box glitches that were possible in the older DS, GBA and colour games which caused file corruption in a lot of cases. Neither of these pose a problem unlike receiving a hacked Pokémon which invents a Pokémon via manipulation of code which can both cause damage to your saved data - if you save after obtaining one and can appear as red flags when read by the online game servers or the Pokémon Home server.
