My left ski on my 73 Elan broke in half on a ride last month. I used the spark plug wrench and vise grips to remove the attachment bolts. Rode it home on a single ski. Gotta love the Elan
Similar happened to me years ago, had a 377 nordic, but in my case the entire ski and suspension setup came off, made it easier to get back that I bet that was.
I hate Elans. In 71, my much smaller/younger brother got one, but while high-marking he just went straight up without bothering to turn before he bogged out. Since my 340 TNT could never get as high as him, it was my job (per Dad) to hike up and get him unstuck. Yeah, I yelled at him...a LOT! LOL

Im building a 72 right now and all the parts are done rebuilt and painted and im just about to put it together with a perfect stock 247 and then a 335 literally fell into my lap from a friend and im like hmmmmm is it worth it? 🤔 Was it like a “holy crap” night and day difference goin from a single 247 to the 335?
@@starionslider2116 huge difference. The low rpm punch from the 335 is hilarious in a small light chassis like the elan, and still the same sound etc. It also enhances the vibrations. Use the 335.

It's a rotax 335 single cylinder. More power than the original 247 single.
I carry extra nuts and bolts in the tool box.
How many kmh can you reach with it?
I have no idea, it doesn't have a speedometer.
Are you running stock gearing in the chaincase? Still on a single row chain?
