This is the inspiring story of my great friend Lee Abbamonte, who has just flown out from NYC to meet me here in Ethiopia. We are heading to Somalia, next!
Lee is one of the world's most traveled people. He has been to every U.N. member state, U.S. state, U.S. national park, both the North and South poles, and 321 unique territories overall.
He finished all of the countries in 2011, about 9 years before I will do it, and those 9 years made a lot of difference in terms of how we each approached this mission. In short, Lee wasn't able to leverage social media to lower his travel costs and get paid to travel... because it wasn't popular back then. Instead, he had to work and save his own money the old fashioned way -- making the journey significantly more expensive than what it's costing me. He actually started his travels before the internet took off, back in 1998!

Check nomad mania. They combine mtp and a bunch of other websites to create a map with around 1281 places I believe. That rank probably has the most traveled person in the world

I've tasted Ethiopian food once and it was good. It was a big crepe served as a "plate" with meats on top and you kinda tear a piece of crepe and grab the meat to make a bite. A big spicy and very tasty! Have a nice and safe trip Drew !
The crepe is called "Injera" and the food you had was probably "Tibs" Glad you liked it.

This is amazing, I really don't know how some people are able to travel to EVERY country in the world, it just seems so ridiculous (I mean that in a good way of course). I share the same aspiration, I know I'm a long ways away from doing that, but hopefully I can at least visit MOST places at least once in my life.
