Dirt Bike Magazine tests the Surron Storm Bee electric dirt bike in Southern California with Jared Hicks on the handlebars and a full review from editor Mark Tilley. This is Surron's first attempt at a more off-road big bike style dirt bike. It has front/rear brakes on the handlebars, a power mode switch, disc brakes and more. Mark Tilley gives you some insight on how this bike feels on the trail. Is the power good? Can it last a long time? What was the suspension like? All those questions are answered and more in this video.
This bike actually made it all the way through the 24 Hour Race at Glen Helen Raceway! Impressive! Wait until you hear about it!

Love it! Its 2 wheels on dirt, may not be everyone's cup of joe but glad you are testing these! I'd take one without much hesitation and use it for what it is.
I've been testing the Ultra Bee. It's a blast. Surron North America Is tough to deal with though.
Can you elaborate? Looking to get one
Love the electric dirtbikes. the first place where electric makes sense on two wheels. keep it up. this is only getting better from here on
Glad you like them!
#1 question: When they raced the 24 hour, how many batteries did they have and how long did it take to charge each one?
I had the same headlight and headlight mask on my 79 PE 175
It’s awesome but like someone else said not a fan of the sound it makes. Nothing beats the sound and smell of a real dirt bike.
They said the same thing about horse shit…..
As someone who rides gas but also has a few teslas, I’ve really started to like the sound of electric.
The lack of sound is the swelling point!
I ride for fun, not to impress anyone or to compensate for anything. This can open up more areas to ride closer to home when I don’t have the time to truck my full size bike somewhere. Being able to go for a quick ride right out my back door without upsetting the nearby acreage owners sounds VERY FUN! 😎👍
I love riding on two wheels. Anyone that hates on it just because it’s electric isn’t a hard core dirt rider IMO. Your riding buddies that have one will be getting more seat time and will be better than you in short order! 😜
Glad to hear it!
Its not just noise restricting trails. It will just move on to the ecological impact on the soil of riding over it after were on electric bikes. Nothing will change unless it's a closed course on private property.
Yeah, your profile picture says everything. 🖕
Does anybody manufacturer a smoke bomb that smells like RedLine?
@@abracing199- You’re probably right, but more riding areas still means more places to ride and longer for them all to be closed.
2024 yz125x next please there are no in depth looks at the bike just quick videos
My concern is what is the maintenance cost on these things battery life and etc. if I had to say anyone wanting to get into dirtbike riding, definitely should be getting a plated dirtbike these days. It gives you the ability to ride anywhere in any state two or four stroke just get a plate on it.
Batteries on these bikes are designed to last over 10 years or 50000 plus miles without out issues. A new battery is about the same price as a four stroke rebuild. Motor and transmission are basically a life time product. Run costs are a fraction of the cost of gas. To charge the battery costs about a $1.50.
Battery life will be an issue for a while and will limit these bikes to certain types of uses...but for what you can use them for they will be great. Maintenance? What maintenance!? Change tires, sprockets, chains when they wear out. The ICE bikes at the 24-hour should have needed an oil change or two to get through the race, and some of them probably blew up or seized.
@@algee8228 I have one, and the battery lasts pretty long unless you are just straight ripping the track. Single track and trail riding in Colorado, it lasts a few hours no problem. That's a pretty decent amount of riding time.
About time. This should be the one to watch !
From chainsaws, impact wrenches, cars, trucks and now motorcycles? It’s coming…..
Please keep reviewing electric bikes. They will get better. Gas bikes are at their apex. Innovation will be mostly on electric bikes.
Ahead of its time, by 50 years.
That rc car noise is really annoying.
It doesn't seem to bother all the people with RC cars!
That’s what I was thinking… nothing beats the sound & smell of a real bike. Especially a 2 stroke
This bike looks like a unfinished project
Not affordable
What's with all these electrics? Skrew them!!
MX is fueled on GAS!! Instead of following the Green A**wipes in CA, they need to elect people with brains.
We are just testing different bikes. We aren't forcing you to buy anything lol. Just showing options and whats out there in the market. Power of purchase is in your hands not ours!
@@DirtBikeMagazine I didn't say you were forcing anything. I'm just sick and tired of the Leftist push to electric. It isn't going to happen for at least 20+ years. I guess you are just pandering to the little leftist educated kids. Whatever...
I read that Cummings is coming out with diesel powered mx bike.
@@xipetotec8700at least they will be running when the power grid goes down...
🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 if I wanted a coal powered machine, I’d buy a Tesla… or this.
Wack
Sorry you don't like it. It's not for everyone
Ok, now test a stock one - without the thousand + dollars in suspension mods....
