FYI, rub an anti-static pouch over your paper before pouring the powder on to create a static-free paper that less powder will adhere to. Less/easier clean up. They cost just a few dollars at any craft store.
Anti static powder tool is an absolute must have when embossing. Really ups your embossing powder game 👌🏼

Thank you so much I had googled what embossing powder was for and they didn't explain it at all but you showed me not only what it was for but 3 different ways to do it and now I'm so excited about the end results that I saw you have I am going to go get the pens and possibly the liquid ink so I can try my hand at it. I have the powder and the heat tool. I got them at a yard sale but I thought it was glitter. Thank you again for inspiring me into a whole new area of crafts

Good antistatic homemade : pour cornstarch in a silky tights or socks and brush your paper with it before inking the surface

Someone in the U.K. who works for a big company who sells said to me once at a crafters event demonstration that it’s not necessary to use antistatic at all

I’m completely new to embossing and I’ve watched sooo many other videos on the subject that made me left confused bc their videos were for one, too long, second, they went on and on about all the products they didn’t like and their bad experiences with each product! I know someone already asked the question, but the static powder would have helped with this. I am surprised you didn't use it. Also using a misti or tim holtz stamping tool for precision of stamping in the same location over and over would be useful too. I will note that your writing is INCREDIBLE!!! You clearly have skills when it comes to do the writing embossing.

Brilliant all to the point no waffle with clear helpful advise and teaching. Much appreciated thank you. Can I ask why you'd use the pot of ink rather than the pens. Is it cheaper to use a bottle of ink. A calligraphy course for use looks a good idea. Your work looks so professional and has inspired me to start embossing

Excellent video! Question, I noticed you don't use an anti-static "bag" and wipe the cardstock before stamping/writing. Is that not a necessary step? I've seen that done on other videos. Thanks!
If it helps you or anyone else, I just learned you can also use a laundry dryer sheet instead of that fancy bag!
The anti static "powder" is to help remove oils that the embossing powder will stick to. You can make an anti-static bag using cornstarch or talcum powder in a small lint-free bag (mine is made of muslin).

i saw another tutorial that showed the person applying a chalky substance in a small bag FIRST on the paper that is supposed to help with the powder to only stick on the glue

I'm making some Christmas placemeats and am at the point where I'll be varnishing the placemats, my question is, I'm applying some snowflakes in embossing powder should I do the embossing first then varnish or is the embossing powder best left unsealed? She has classes and teaches modern calligraphy. Check into it. Definitely worth the time and money, IMO.

Unfortunately no- hair dryers don't get hot enough!
The Happy Ever Crafter I have had success with an iron. If you flip the page over and iron the back it gets hot enough
so was that an actual blowdryer you used or do you have to use something else? would a blowdryer not work?

The embossing powder I have says to dampen the paper then pour the embossing powder. But no mattet what I do it either sticks just a littie bit to everything or all pours off. Do You have to be putting ink into you indent to make it stick before heating? And i used an iron lol but when I pour it off it all pours off. Is my indent not deep enough do I need to use a marker or certain ink? My bottle just says dampen surface

Thank you for sharing your techniques for three embossing methods. I have yet to begin embossing. You mentioned not using that heat gun for very long as it can cause some burning. Approximately how long did it take you to use your heat tool to mount the embossing powder in the three examples? TIA ♥️
If you keep the heat gun moving it helps then when the powder changes colour you stop, you will get used to how long. It’s very quick

Do I have to apply the powder quickly? Will it dry if I let it sit too long, or is it alright for it to sit for a while? I’m embossing a book cover and it might take a while to write. I’m worried the ink will dry. Thanks!

Well, I see how to do it but still dont know what is it. It looks like what I do with glitter and glue but why the heat gun? Is the end result like a plasticky look? Is it only done on paper?
I used a bag with cornstarch in it that I bought at a local craft store. I wanted to emboss on red cardstock but it left a white film on the cardstock. Any ideas?

How do you feel about the anti-static cling powders that help to not let the excess embossing powder to stick to the paper?
I haven't found one that I find works perfectly- I generally always have to go through with a paintbrush after and touch it up!

I bought the red zing and I found it so-so. It doesn't look embossed as much as just glittery. Are the black, white, and gold better?

No. Too much air and not hot enough. Stick to a heat gun.
You can hold it over a toaster, ink side up, just be careful to move it around and stop as soon as the powder melts..and don’t burn your fingers ;) This is how I did it before buying a heat gun

I tried 2 different white pen ranger and versamark on my white paper aquarelle and use the black powder on it and the powder doesn’t stay . I put some more powder on my word and its still the same. I don’t get it why the powder doesn’t stay. And i put a lot .
