Loved this arc. Seems pretty clear to me that they took some inspiration from New 52 Earth-2 for Justice League Dark: Apokolips War.

Stories like this show how easy WB can have their cake and eat it if they actually thought for more than two minutes. You can have the Synderverse and create an alternate timeline where Val Zod exists and becomes A Superman after Clark goes mad in the dark Justice League timeline. And use Flashpoint to save him when the dark future is averted. Quick and easy plot that didn't take me two minutes to come up with after thinking about it for a minute.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed Earth 2 when I first read it. I like some of the new characterizations and it has some cool concepts. I wish DC would explore Earth 2 again, but ill be happy if we get a JSA ongoing.

This shit means a lot to me, man, i have COMBAT PTSD and severe injuries throughout my body, opiod and benzodiazpine addiction and ive lost much of my will to live. Videos like the ones you make (Nostalgia Critic as well) really help me more than youmight know, esp when i cn't sleep for days on end, smelling, hearing, feeling the horrors of war all around me constantly.
He's made me have a tear in my eye when he read a really good veteran-oriented Punisher story (I Think Frank had a damaged eye in it as well). Like many vets, I identify with PUnisher (I wasn't Marine Scout Sniper recon, but did get to train at the 1 major Army sniper school, and was an Army Ranger, and we are all about adapting, overcoming, and improving on ourselves)
Combat PTSD /w drug addiction is the worst thing I can imagine putting on someone, on top of missing an eye, a testicle, having pieces of my friends stuck inside me (vbIED)...Comicstorian, Nostalgia Criti all play a huge role in me feeling like I'm not some evil piece of murdering shit who's been all-but-destroyed by the horrors of war. Anyway, im rambling and likely just annoying everyone which is what i do best.

Dark skinned Kryptonians are kind of an interesting idea. On one hand, in humans dark skin pigmentation is intended as a defense against the harmful UV radiation from the sun, but since Kryptonians live off solar radiation I'm guessing dark skinned Kryptonians can "quick charge" instead?

Here's Earth 2, which I'm finding better than Marvel's Infinity War; and yet the movies just shit on the whole DC universe.
I feel bad bringing the movie stuff up here, but how many people would know this story from the comics compared to if it was from a movie? *Stories from the DC world deserve so much more, but it is just impossible to achieve even the slightest goal of spreading it to the world in a movie.*
I feel like DC can pull it off with animation CGI and sequels but are too afraid of investing into that sort of production

Fortunate for me. My Grandpa had a pawn shop, where he got into collecting comics. When he stopped dealing them, he gave them alllllllll to me. Im missing a lot still. The hard to find or the expensive ones. I feel like i have a duty to complete the collection as best i can.

Rip brother. It’s crazy it’s only 2 comic related channels I follow and you’re one of them. I would sit and listen to the full 1-3 hr vids of the full stories like this one. My favs by you are injustice all parts and then the deceased. I sat and listen to them fully and was hooked. Always grew up liking comics bc of my dad but this made it so much more accessible and I didn’t feel left out not knowing what was going on bc you really explained it all or went to the start so we could figure it out as the stories went for the viewer. Blessed be your family and rest well.

Timothy Biggers Jr because that Batman grew up with Superman as childhood friends and had a loving wife and daughter that made him more caring while the New 52/Main Batman grew up a paranoid loner which is actually one of the main reasons Darkseid’s invasion on that Earth fails unlike his Earth 2 invasion.
Earth 2 and Futures End are what got me into DC comics.

Earth 2 was a fun place to be before Rebirth. It was a place where Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman were seasoned veterans. Where Superman was married to Lois. And where the Justice Society-Adjacent lived. Now, though, we have actual Superman and the actual Justice Society so...

Well in the Inj reality Batman had 4 Robins which clearly means that they had lots and lots of training and correct me if I'm wrong but in Earth 2 there were only 5 heroes while Inj had a whole roster who is still willong to fight even when they do what they do.
As soon as we saw superman kill shazam with heat vision (who eats that shit in like every other comic he's in) we knew that as interesting that story is, there's alot of bullshit in it.
I think the craziest part of people freaking out about Val Zod is just how many people crap their pants without actually looking into what was going on. I understand that in this day and age it’s not the 90s anymore where if you’re a comic book fan you go to the comic books and that’s it. Today there are fans of both DC and Marvel who love all these characters but have never picked up a comic book in their life. And there’s nothing wrong with that! I don’t think we need to act like comic book elitist and call people fake fans for only being fans of these characters On the big and small screen. However before people lose their mind about things maybe they should do some research. What I saw everyone freaking out on Facebook wasn’t because Val Zod was going to get a movie. They were freaking out because they thought they were changing Clark Kent/Superman to an African-American to be more woke. Anyone that really knows the comic books knows about the multi-verse and there are so many different versions of these characters and some of them are different races in some universe is everyone is gender switched. If people would’ve just calm down and realize that Kal and Val are two different characters completely I don’t think they would’ve had that big of a problem. But because we live in an era where you have two dumb sides that just blindly support one side that kind of thinking doesn’t take into a fact. And I think the left is just as stubborn. I saw several people on the left that were happy with the idea of a black superman but they didn’t know it was Val either they thought they were just changing Clark Kent into an African-American. I understand why Warner Bros./DC does some of these things but I also think they could handle it better. Yes I do believe we need more representation of people of different ethnicities. Where Warner Bros. and DC completely dropped the ball when it comes to movies and television is that they already have so many great characters that are different races but they never give those characters the light of day. Can someone please tell me why we have not gotten a live action version of green lantern John Stewart in the movies yet? What about vixen? Vibe? Steel? Yes I know we’ve got some of these characters in the arrow verse but I think it would go along way to have them on the big screen. I’m so bummed out that Ray Fisher will not be coming back as Cyborg in the DC EU. It just feels like while I know Warner Bros. wants to do the right thing they just miss handle things sometimes. Bottom line is there is a lot both Warner Brothers/DC comics and the fans can be better at. I wish the companies of warner brothers and Disney both sometimes wouldn’t be so scared of not being looked at as woke that they would make better decisions and I wish the fans that lose their mind when they see a black superman or a black Batman would just calm down and realize they’re not replacing those original characters. It's the exact same issue with Miles Morales , Val-Zod is DCs Miles Morales not just story wise but people have this issue where a alternate black version of a character is the replacement of that character which people get offended by rather than just actually researching that character and learning about them
