What I understood from this is that he is saying cooling tower instead of District Cooling Plant". In UAE we had Empower (DCP) to supply CW. Following HEXs there is no other cooling media for the CW to further cool the water. DCP supplies at the temperature of 4 to 5C to the building. Delta to be maintained as per the energy parameters specified by the in the contract.

I think the line to heat exchanger is from District Cooling plant Chiller not from the Cooling tower, cooling tower might be in District Cooling plant, cooling tower is connected to Chiller not to the Heat Exchanger. The temperature at cooling tower line might be above 30 deg or some what near to ambient temperature
There is a cooling tower along with chiller in the District cooling plant in UAE. Return water gets cooled by cooling tower and Chiller as well.
@@HBTV2020 Ok, do you mean there are two cooling towers, 1 . condenser side of chiller at district cooling plant and 2. Return water side means, another cooling tower between heat exchanger at building and chiller at district cooling plant
@@HBTV2020 Boss you are speaking wrong...Return Water only gets cooled in Chiller Evaporator ..It has nothing to do with Cooling Tower .Check you Schematics to understand the concept.

Aur district cooling me kyun heat exchangers use karte hai jabki hamare paas delta T(5degree) maintain kiya hua hai aur required gpm to milta hi hai main district cooling system piping se

The purpose of the heat exchanger that consumer can maintain their own temperature in the building and service provider can maintain their standard temperature and it will help to calculate the consumption
Consumer has to maintain particular Delta T otherwise service provider can fine the consumer because its effect their plant efficiency
And if consumer by mistakenly made bigger change to their system secondary side it will not immediate effect on service provider company

Is this building being supplied from some district cooling system? Or are the cooling towers exclusive to this building only? Also, 5 degree centigrade chilled water coming from the cooling tower? In the Middle East? I have a feeling something is missing.

There is no cooling tower for this building there is a common cooling tower for whole Island

@@HBTV2020 Brother I think you have the wrong idea. Cooling towers cannot provide water of temperature 5 degree C. The district cooling system utilises chillers to chill water and the heat removed from this chilled water is rejected to the atmospheric air through the cooling towers. It is true that cooling towers alone are also used to provide chilled water but only in winters and that too in western countries where the winters are real cold. But in the Middle East, it is impossible for a cooling tower alone to chill water to 5 degree C. Think about it.

first water pass through form cooling tower rejected heat in the atmosphere than it pass through from chillers (chiller evaporator section) which decrease more water temperature then it distributed to the different project
Even it is possible to gain even 1 Degree Celsius water temperature from cooling tower
Since cooling Tower receive return chilled water temperature approximately 16 degree which can be reduced into 5 degree Celsius by air cool only
if outside temperature too high or high Relative humidity level then they use chiller to lower down the temperature of chilled water

I have a genuine question: why are plate and frame heat exchangers being used here? Why not connect the lines directly to the cooling tower? Why maintain 2 water loops and consequently 2 sets of pumps? PHX se to heat transfer efficiency ghat ta hai.
