- I finally got myself a pet spider! Just like Lucas the spider, my new Regal Jumping Spider is absolutely adorable (if I do say so myself). In this video I am unboxing my new arachnid, her setup, food, decoration and more!

We got a jumper to help my son overcome his crippling fear of spiders. We now have 5 and just recently lost our first spider after a year and a half. My son cried himself to sleep for a week. They are such a sweet bug. Enjoy
I, too had a crippling case of arachniphobia growing up. It lingers yet today.
Jumping Spiders are the perfect "gateway bug" to spiders for arachniphobes.
Would they not be scary because they can jump?

They're so darn cute that they could pole vault and not scare the worst arachniphobe.
Their mannerisms, inquisitive nature and finely honed hunting skills set them apart from other spiders.

Yeah I’ve never really fancied keeping spiders as pets other than jumping spiders, they seem to have little personalities lol
I don't rly like spiders but for some reason my favorite spider isn't even friendly, it's an OBT (orange baboon tarantula or orange bitey thing)

My mom hated reptiles and then i got one and then about a month later went away for a couple days so she took care of him and now she loves him and will hold him

Oh no, the gateway arachnid. In just some few months you’ll be like “hey guys, here’s a leopard gecko for 3.7 seconds now let me show you this giant man-eating tarantula I just got in. It’s so cute!”

I have two jumping spiders my own and I can tell they are awesome! So gentle and exited about the world. They live in their own terrariums next to each other and it is fun to follow them interact with each other. They never bite and handling them is so much fun when they just look at me and wonder around on my hand.

Congrats on the new friend, I hope you enjoy her! I actually got my own pair of jumping spiders last year as somebody who's typically squicked out by arachnids, there's something very different about jumping spiders, especially the phidippus ones. they can be a handful when they're still growing though, had to keep a paint brush near the enclosure to gently shoo them back in if they tried to escape during a feeding/misting, and it's irritating working with fruit flies, but so worth it for these little guys.
Love Betty-Sue's new home. I'm looking forward to hearing and learning more about her. Watching her and getting to see her up close was too cool. I'm similar to you when something means a lot to me. I shake and find it hard to breathe. (Thankfully that doesn't happen all the time.) Great video.

Ooo that would be cool! Now we have our 3D printer we can kind of go wild with the theming. I'm trying to think of something cool thats half bio-active, half a theme :D

I completely sympathise with the shaky hands. Mine are so bad when i'm nervus that it made legible handwriting nearly impossible when i was anxious back in my school years
Yeah I woke up super anxious and then she arrived a little while before I had to be somewhere which I was nervous about, so the adrenaline was certainly pumping that day lol
I love the way they move around, like adorable little robots, shaking their pedipalps and feeling around with their front legs.

Aww she is adorable! I've had a few regal jumping spiders in my life, my last was a girl called Bean. She sadly passed away due to old age a few years ago now, but she was one of the best 🥰 My first 2 were called Sweetcheeks and Fuzzybutt 🤭 it was from then that I found out they are pretty addictive little spiders ❤️
She is probably the only spider I would say is cute. I wouldn’t want to own one, but she’s so fuzzy and adorable!

I've been keeping jumpers for about 3 yrs now, they're cool as hell lol. You'll soon find out how intelligent they are. U can jus look em in the eyes and tell that they're figuring things out
They’re so cute but I’d never be able to upgrade enclosures, clean the enclosures, or handle her because I’m terrified of arachnids! She’d jump on me and I’d freak out and either squash her or flick her off. Unless by some miracle I managed to stay calm.
But maybe the jumping spider species is the starting arachnid to get me slowly over my fear?!? So cute!

I have arachnophobia but I keep a wolf spider, a fishing spider species, and some other weird spider species. I have kept many crab spiders, jumping spiders and other species of random spiders. I'm scared of them but I keep them. My logic is like being terrified of dogs but owning a great dane.
I have arachnophobia too but for some reason tarantulas don't scare me. Maybe because they look fluffy.
7:08 when she poops on you I giggled. And when she waves at you my heart screams “so cute, I want one!” And then my head kicks in and slaps my heart and says “nope, we are afraid!”
Brand new viewer here, I have my first jumping spider Loki arriving on Thursday…he’s a male hence the name Loki I thought it was fitting for the black and green colouration lol I ordered a sign and some little stairs from your Etsy shop a couple nights ago. I get zebra jumping spiders in my bathroom from time to time and they are cute little fellas so fun to watch, this coming from someone whos deathly afraid of spiders 😅
aww haha yeah I was slightly worried she'd be as quick as a zebra jumping spider, because sometimes those guys move quicker than my eyes can keep up with them lol

Can you do a how to care video. I would absolutely love a jumping spider but I have absolutely no idea how to look after. Cage size, light and heat, food, growth, humidity etc everything you would need to know for something that doesn’t know anything.

Tarantulas/Spiders are great. Very interesting and misunderstood! I’ve had a Chilean rose, Mexican red knee, Cobalt blue, Versicolor and a Trinidad dwarf so far. This won’t be your only one! 🕷

I don’t suppose you could use the magnetic jumping spider hides for baby mourning geckos? Perhaps even the adults as they’re not very large when fully grown? I’m totally going to have to check out your Etsy shop and get the measurements, but the teardrop shaped hide looked as if it’d be big enough for at least the babies. 🤔
Hi I have a question for you, in one of your previous videos you mention that the gecko can eat their skin. If you are supposed to feed them that day do you feed them regular proportions? Thanks for all your videos they are very helpful! :)
You can offer them the usual amount, although they might eat less (or not at all).
Spiders are my nightmare. That one is kinda cute tho. But I'm afraid I could never keep one because my reflex would be to squish it.

Do domesticated spiders behave differently? I had to deal with one in my apartment and it was very difficult to catch without hurting it, they are so shy and quick.

When I was younger I envyed people who have intresting hobbys. Jokes on me. I've got no one to talk about my favorite animals. Rats and Leopard Geckos: Maybe some listen. Fish and Isopods: Bored to death cringy smile. Snails and Spiders: Elvis has left the building.
only spiders I'm scared of are black widows and brown recluses and only because I've seen the damage they can do to your body when you get bitten. house spiders or jumping spiders are fine and I love messing with grand daddy long legs
