LS and Caedrel decided to have pro players/high mmr players play out these drafts. Starting with EU then maybe NA. - Hry
Update: RIOT detected fun and is not allowing them to use LEC players (iirc) so the show match isn't happening 🤷

i like the idea. should try without any bans. But champs can only be picked once in BO5
Or can only ban each champion once. So you can ban specific counters to whatever you are trying to build in that match
drutut made a tournament with this style of draft without bans. You might find it interesting if you havent watched it already. Its called DUS
Having a protect a champ feature seems intruging
but pre ban phase and only allowing one per team per b05
allowing protect allows for maybe team signature picks to go through such as maybe LS with C9 ivern or another team banning out hard matchups for riven and protecting her for an ex riven one trick
would create a lot of hype for some games for some champs to go through
generally is a very much OHHHHH moment to view certain champs get through at certain moments such as to win such tournament a team uses their protect on an ex on trick draven or Evelynn some sort off like oh champion kinda

It sounds great for a bo3, but a bo5 would mean all champs picked or banned in the end. I would make that you could pick again champs after game 2. So you can't use 10 champs from game 1 in game 2 and the 10 from game 2 in game 3, but you can pick/ban the ones from game 1 in game 3.
It would be also interesting to make it that champion banned once is banned for entire series, but picks dont change anything
This would be too confusing for the casual who tunes in late into a series. They would have no way of knowing which champs are even available during the draft.
In a pro environment I'm sure they would have an actual way of showing unavailable champs- in this case it wasn't an option because the website has no such feature (yet?)
yo ik this is a year old but I really cant see a reason for riot to cater to people who are late to tune in? like why would it ever matter if viewers dont know what champs are available or not? all that matters is the teams know right? or am I missing smth? 😅

Arena of Valor (a mobile MOBA popular in my country) have been doing this kind of ban pick for years, there shouldn't be much problem if they implement this for League.
