    I'm a registered Republican, I like the way Tulsi thinks. If ever I was gonna vote for a Democrat again it would be for her. She uses common sense thinking. She is always willing to look at the big picture. Also ask yourself why are the rest of the Democrats trying to shut her up. I believe its because she is willing to work with both sides to get things fixed. That's who we need for a leader. Look past her age. She gets it. She gets it.

    • @jevvf3246
      @jevvf3246 Před 5 lety +6

      Dumb comment. Who asked for 70 billion for war? It's for posturing and military sustainment. And I don't even know how accurate that number is.
      1. First of all, the military does not just go to war. The first responders to various humanitarian crisis' around the world are the US military. And that is not only a domestic thing.
      2. Second of all, if we don't invest in R&D for military equipment and innovation, other nations will be ahead of us. Sure, you may not think that's a big deal, but in trying times with China, Iran, and Russia, it's *imperative* that we stay ahead of the competition and not show weakness. Remember those Russia hacking *_attempts_* during the election? None were successful. It was because of our investment in cyber security divisions of the military that helped this. The US is the strongest country in the world by far. If we fall behind, it gives them opportunity to affect us in countless ways, whether that be political, military, or consumer.
      3. Third of all, I can't even begin to describe to you how much military investment affects your life at home. You know how much R&D in military tech makes its way into the consumer market? This doesn't even apply to military btw. It's one reason why investment in space (NASA, SpaceX) is so great. If we can develop a technology to sustain us on Mars, it will translate to tremendous amounts of technology and innovations for the consumer market.
      There are more things I can talk about, but for the purpose of CZcams audience's ability to read for more than 15 seconds, I will abstain.

      There are more as well. But don't say the US just "helps" by using drone strikes and bombs. Don't be that naive. On top of those listed operations, the military are supplying food, water, and clothes to places in Africa year round, every year.
      And to say there is no investment on that is naive as well. People see us doing good and it motivates people to want to move to America, support America, or invest in America. I am not a far right MAGA Trump support. Don't get it twisted. It just irritates me when people don't see the big picture.

    You have an inflation issue, not a wage issue. Your cities are outrageously expensive and your solution isn't to fix the sources of the issue, but to put a bandaid on it.

    • @makersmike2959
      @makersmike2959 Před 5 lety +1

      Well, both are an issue. And the wage issue can be handled immediately. We also need to be working on inflation but there are so many facets of inflation that are entrenched in every aspect of our society, it will be a long haul. To fix inflation, you are reliant on companies that refuse to lower prices. You rely on goods from other countries to be cheaper (stop the stupid tariff's). One huge issue is that one way to lower inflation is actually to raise interest rates. It increases the cost of borrowing and slows spending, but it also makes it more challenging for the average American to borrow money while not affecting the very rich. Some say more privatization and deregulation helps lower inflation, but at what cost? Can you trust companies to make proper use of the deregulation, or does it create more ways for them to cheat and then collapse our economy again? I don't know how to fix it, but If you have idea's on how I'm open to them and I'm sure she is too. One way to start is by hiking back up the taxes on the top 1%. That plus drastically lowering the government spending on needless wars and contracts to the military industrial complex will help. And she did touch on both of those issues.

    • @makersmike2959
      @makersmike2959 Před 5 lety

      @Inebriatd I agree education first. And I pretty much agree with what you're saying. I just think a good livable wage, while not making people instantly competent, it is proven to create a more stable home environment for children. It helps them do better in school and have a better chance at a good education in the future. If it means their mom doesn't have to work two jobs, that's something invaluable to children. Worth it to me. And the athletes you speak of. Your facts are incorrect. Money helps.The large majority of athlete's or successful musicians that didn't succeed in school but came into money have seen their children grow up in better neighborhoods, or private schools and receive great educations. And guess what? Compared to what they'd receive growing up in the hood? They fare much better. It's just fact. There will be negatives, but welfare has helped a lot of successful people when they were kids. Ask Joe Rogan about that. Your looking at a the minority of people who abuse the system not the majority. Think about it. These are people that want to work. Not people asking for welfare. If someone doesn't want a free ride, but wants to work full time to try and support themselves or their family, they should have a good livable wage. To suggest that a $15.00 minimum wage will hurt American rather than help it is absurd. And if a company can't afford to pay their employees a livable wage, then they shouldn't be in business. Unless of course you're suggesting giving them one of those "handouts" that you're so against.
      So again. It's both. And one helps the other.

    She says we need to raise minimum wage to compensate for the high cost of living, particularly in larger urban cities. But WHY is the cost of living so high? Could it be due to the high interest rates banks are permitted to charge; the unregulated fossil fuel industry that can set prices collusively without repercussion; the ridiculously high, unregulated cost of medical care and pharmaceutical drugs; the out of control housing market that's being spurned on by Wall Street, local and foreign speculators; the imbalanced tax system that permits multinational corporations to avoid taxes while netting billions in profits; or could it be the allowance of corporate consolidations which deprive small and medium-sized businesses the opportunity to grow and be sustainable?

Any solution she has is not do-able to fix these national issues from small to large scale b/c there just would not be enough cooperation to move forward to fix or untangle a lot of these problems. Only way i could see it is a single party government who unilaterally takes action to help their populace but that would be a benevolent dictatorship & explains China's exponential growth in the last 30 years to becoming an economic world leader.

      No. Australia has a minimum wage just under AUD$19 per hour (about USD$17). Many European countries have high minimum wages and strong economies.
      If you take money from the wealthy - who have no idea what to do with it, so put it into various dubious ‘investments’ or stick it in tax haven banks - and give it to the poorest then it gets immediately put back into the economy. Every time the minimum wage gets increased the economy gets a boost. That gain offsets the increased costs that the buyer of labour must deal with.

      Raise it to 50, 100, hell make it 1,000 an hour. See what happens. Businesses WILL fire employees, just make fewer employees do more work and the smaller ones who can't afford it will go out of business. That's what WILL happen. Talk about redistributing money from the rich and economic boosts all you want but the above is what WILL happen. Try it in Cali please, I don't live there so I'll just sit back and watch it crumble even worse.

Let the states take care of the micro stuff, it should be their concern, not the feds.

    • @walkialyon8507
      @walkialyon8507 Před 5 lety

      @Judas Iscariot the standards will still be upheld. I'm a firm believer that the greatest problem we have today is to much micromanagement from the fed level. Basically, I believe the feds have over stepped their original borders layed out for them by the founding fathers and, in doing such, have over complicated the stream of bureaucracy making it far more inefficient then it should be. It's just like that manager at work who, just because hes A manager, makes him the # 1 expert on everything in his place of work, microing EVERYBODY on jobs that, frankly, they understand on a far deeper level then the manager ever could.

    • @walkialyon8507
      @walkialyon8507 Před 5 lety

      that is true, the sad part is that its an inevitability. However, other states who are less "corrupt" should not be as affected by, what is essentially, the mass conjoining of all these members of the 2 parties as they are right now. They all should represent their states and their states only and not become the mass conglomerate that they are now. That is one of the reasons why the fed should be broken up and put back in its place 1). to many people are to interconnected with one another to not get their hands easily dirty, and 2). the federal government should not, by any means, have the amount of oversite as it does now. The individual states should take care of their own taxes, legislation, healthcare, ect. on their own and not bring everybody else down with them which we see today because of the influences that are forcing their ideologies and way of thinking on the fed level. The fed, as far as im concerned, has 3 jobs; 1). maintain foreign relations. 2).maintain our infrastructure. 3). and insure that all states are compliant with the ultimate law of the land, the bill of rights and the constitution. Their bumbling around with things that are not in those 3 categories, I believe, is what got ALL of us into this mess to begin with.

    They all started just ripping off Yang. The difference is Yang has a plan, no one else does.

    hey they are already charging for all these things. You want to visit national parks? It costs money to get in. You want to camp there? It costs more. You want to fish there? It costs more for a license. In cases like Wyoming and Yellowstone, the park makes you buy a license just to fish there. A Wyoming state fishing license means nothing when fishing on the park.
    If public beaches want to charge...that does not surprise me. They will deem it a city or state park, and collect fees for it. Anything to generate more revenue...which of course will be misused and spent on other crap.
