Gents, make note of the lofts as they progress through the irons. I understand most will buy the standard loft (241 7 iron 34*, 243 7 iron 32*, 245 7 iron 30*) but it makes a difference in head to head comparisons. The 245 7 iron is the same loft as the 241 6 iron.
Great video!! I purchased 223 a little over a year ago. But when I was comparing iron it came down to the APEX vs 243’s. I got slightly more speed and distance from the APEX BUT I loved the looks and feel of the 243! I can only discribe the hits as buttery😂 and when I was slightly off I know it. I haven’t looked at the numbers but by your comments I think you would do a mixed set of APEX. Again great video!
I would go 4-5 Mizuno 243 and 6-PW 241. The dispersion was better it seemed, and the sound of the strike seemed more solid. I could not tell as quickly with the Apex’s a good strike versus bad.
Sound/feel of 243 is incredible, distance is good and it has greater MOI than 245 according to Maltby. It also looks great and the detailing is unreal. Quite possibly the pound for pound king of irons in 2024.
245 > Apex Pro > 243 > Apex CB > Apex MB > 241 in terms of forgiveness it seems. You absolutely smoked the 243 and saw noticeable improvement with that club over the 241. As for the Apex irons, you hit the MB and CB well, but I don't think there was as much of an improvement going from MB to CB as there was with Mizuno. I think the Mizuno 243 4-PW with a 245 3 iron (lofts weakened if necessary to adjust carry), or the Apex MB 5-PW with an Apex Pro 3-4 iron would be the two best combos. No-one can deny the look and feel of the 241s though, so potentially a combo set similar to what I had above, but use 241 and 243 instead of 243 and 245?
Amazing swing speed so thanks for that. Almost Mr. Roboto. 241 is in your wheel house but the Apex MB combo with the the cavity in 4 to 6 should give you the gaps and consistency you want at your swing speed. The lower handicap lower swing speed versions would just kill your game and frustrate you 😢
Really like the format subscribed. Where are the numbers? Which of these clubs tolerate the heel strike the best and which least like being struck on the heel?

Who did it best? Callaway or Mizuno?

They were all set at different lofts actually based on Marc’s numbers! But that a great idea we will look into implementing that in future videos:)
This format is really really good guys, you answer alot of questions for people seriously considering 🤔 these irons.

243 Mizuno because they blend very well! For myself I’m debating upgrading to the 245’s or a JPX model.

Great comparison. Never liked the looks of the Callaway sadly going for a fitting this week. I'm loving the 245 so we'll see if they love me back..
Thanks! If you want a look at Marcs numbers we just uploaded part 2 of this review!

Marc is actually a state of the art robot.. 🤖
One of the strongest grips I’ve ever seen!
Sure is! I am significantly better this way!
the apex lineup in 7 iron is 33,34,34 degrees between them all. the mizuno is 30,32,34 degrees in the 7 iron. blending the callaway seems easier
Apex MB. Which had longer blade length- Apex MB or Mizuno 241?
