In this video, I finish the raven skull cloak pins I started in the previous video. After forging two simple pins with a ring on the top, I drill a hole in the top of the skulls to receive this pin. Metal epoxy putty is then inserted into the end of the beaks to create a receiver for the point of the pin. The brass skulls are then treated with a nitric acid-based solution called Brass Black. After blackening, the patina is highlighted using steel wool, leaving dark in the crevices.
Now, the grand reveal on my "in progress" rental costume of leather armour and coyote skin cloak. It should be noted that this is not a historically accurate form of armour but rather a fantasy style typical of current film and videogame depictions of leather armour.

    Thakius Maximus, great job!

Though unintentional those tear outs actually work rather well in this application. They lend to the overall effect of the skulls themselves.
Lol tiny led behind the skull and those eyes would have like an archevil glow.!
    🙏. Blessed days now

The raven skulls came out very well. I agree that you need to add pieces to keep the fur from hiding the skulls so much.
Do you have a video showing the gate @ 03:43-05:05? My wife & I _really_ like the plate with the dogs pulling the ropes with the sun(?) looking distressed! ;)

I made that gate for my girlfriend . She has two dogs, sunny and indy....hence the sun...and the ropes trail off into whips...a nod to Indiana Jones. No video on the making of but might do a photo slideshow of the making on instagram

I can see what you mean about the tear outs with the dog and totally agree, but the same thing on the skulls looks amazing! As an aesthetic I think that should stay in any skulls you do in future. It looks very authentic and gives an idea of age and entropy.
