That hurts, even the loss but the MONEY, hurts bad. Scout ya will be ok my brother.
👍👍
Sorry you lost her Gary! It's very tough losing a good plane, and I wish you luck in the recovery, but in the moment, still a very tough loss... for what it's worth, when I have a bad crash, I always try to fly another (cheaper and easier) plane to help me get my legs back under me - you know it's such a mental game... This helps me to deal with the loss. As for the stall that happened here, I've done the same thing on final with my 70mm...the bottom just slipped out from under me on a very tight base leg in...but I was low and fairly slow so it was "fixable". Dude, you can fix it....not the battery, but the plane for sure! I would.
Thanks, I replaced the fuselage. It was fairly easy.
Caught this video the day you posted it but wanted to tune back in. You rock Gary, for being so truthful with your videos. We know there are more CZcamsrs out there that hide things than show them, and for that reason you'll always have our support! Keep up the awesome, family friendly content 365 baby!!! 👍😁😎⚓
Let’s go Eflite/ Horizon Hobby this guy is always show casing and talking highly about your planes help him out with a new 90 mm viper Your awesome grampa Gary keep as a person and for the hobby KEEP FLYING
Thank you for sharing the bad with the good. I have the Viper 70mm and I never would have known about the Viper stalling issue without videos like this being shared. You've shared your lesson learned despite that feeling after a crash that we're all familiar with. The times that it happened to me, I didn't want to talk to anyone. Lol! But you bit the bullet and shared it. Lesson learned on how important it is to keep the throttle up during banking and making sure the CG is back where it needs to be. Thanks again Gary and I'm glad it didn't stop you!
I have a 70 and I think it may be even worse than the 90 in that department. Logic would dictate that it fly the same as the larger 90 mm, but I don't believe it does!
Man, I feel your pain, my heart goes out to you, always difficult to accept when it's such a nice plane. As you said though, part of the hobby. Fly,crash, repair and repeat. All the best wishes from the UK.
Sorry for the rough day, but thanks for sharing Gary - the emotion is very relatable. Love the channel
Just one word " Amazing" rc plane
I love this plane. 👊
Sorry about your day. I do appreciate your dedication to your fans. Even after a big crash, you tried to give us a video. Thank you for all you do.
Keep your chin up. Can not even describe how many times I have crashed a gorgeous aircraft. Almost keeps me from taking new ones out but then there are the times when you get in the air and have a wonderful day and come back in one piece. That is what puts a huge grin on your face. 😃
I always learn from something you say or do. Thank you Gary!
Going low and slow is ok, going slow in a turn, is usually a big no-no. In real aviation, a mistake like this is often fatal, in this case it may hurt to see this happen, but at least you live to fly another day. Take care and clear skies!
That was no fault of flying slow. That was electronics. It was flying fine and then just fell out of the sky.
Spot-on RC-fan NL, the skill level is a notch up with EDF jets, especially with flat wings, if it's anything like full-size, which I can tell you it is... Most planes will lose 60% lift on a tight turn, most of my students if it be RC or full-size don't like to practise stalling (two mistakes high) but they have a higher success rate,
The other day I was too low over the hedge with my e-flite viper...oooops🤣 happy flying everybody 😁
Biggest killer in G.A.... turn to final when pilot overshoots runway centerline. Tip stall to fatal spin. Every GA pilot needs to lean to fly RC.
I'm so so sorry Gary for your loss. There are no words adequate enough to express the emotion of crashing a good plane. I just crashed my new Viper 70mm too. Men, I am so sorry bro. Hopefully, you have rebuilt or bought another one.
Yes thanks! I love this plane. I have lots of flights now. Waiting on new landing gear. 😀🛩💯
totally feel for you Gary. crash like this is bound to happen from time to time as you know. wishing you better flight days ahead. keep flying bud.
I just picked up a Viper 70 a few weeks ago. I like the jet a lot but it has its issues. The nose retract is still a problem, although the landing gear is beefier than the first edition. The wing cracking above the main retract housing also still happens.
As I was about to maiden it, I was told by several salty old guys at the field to watch the tip stalls. Many of them instructed me to be at 75% throttle or more in and out of turns, or whenever the wings are perpendicular to the ground for more than a couple of seconds.
When you were coming around the corner so slowly I could feel it was going to stall.
Overall, it's a nice jet, but it's not $350 nice IMO. Sorry about the crash. I know how much it hurts. Been there many times.
Sorry about that Gary! I know you'll get this sorted and certainly will be back out there tomorrow providing
your usual awesome flight clinics!
That's why I love my safe select switch some people call it a different switch
If I had the money, I would buy you another one. How good you kept your composure after what happened. I know I wouldn't of. But as you said, it's part of the hobby. Been praying for you every day with what happened to your back 🙏🙏 Looking forward to tomorrow's video
Ouch! That really hurt but in the end, it was just an RC airplane and crashes are part of being part of the hobby. You have a great attitude and all I can say is "Just keep Flying".
Wow I'm sorry you lost your viper. Gary your just about the best rc pilot I've seen. Keep it up.
Oh no..... Dude, I almost shed a tear for you! Brutal.
Oh man. Ouch!!!
I hate seeing that happen. I am sooooo Sorry buddy. Hope you are doing well at repair. Sometimes they even fly better after gluing.
Good luck gramp
Hey. While we hate to see this, and man more than once said I was hanging it up after a crash. I’m only three years in, but seeing the more experienced guys had bad days help. And I agree, it sucks but man there is so much more. I got into this after my wife passed away and this community has helped get through some tough days. It’s more than toy airplanes for some of us.
Well said! I love this hobby. 😀🛩👍
Gary it was my pleasure to meet you today at Wing Masters for the swap and fly event. I was so sorry to see your plane catch on fire at our field. A bit surprised to see you posted a video (live) near your home and really sorry that the new beautiful Eflight 90 mm viper crashed. It really hurts to see crashes and I should know as I have lots of my own. Please keep on flying and posting your videos. Jack from Wing Masters Dayton Ohio/ come visit us anytime.
Thanks Jack! I have new parts ordered. Hopefully I will have this back in the air next week. 👍✈😀
Wow, fantastica lezione di vita! Sei un Grande! anche se hai rotto un aereo meraviglioso, hai mantenuto il sorriso! Buona Vita Amico! Ciao!
Grazie per la visione e il tuo supporto!
So sorry man! I know that feeling I did something similar to my fms 70mm f18 Smile to keep from crying brother you will fly her again we have faith!
My God Gary, I'm very sorry about what happened, but remember that we are with you in those moments that are so difficult and that they are part of this hobby ....
Sorry Gary your a great pilot, it happens to all of us, chin up brother, keep flying we all enjoy it.
God Bless you man.
Sorry to see that Gary. I did that same exact thing with my Habo on the Maiden flight. First time flying a plane…. Put it back together with glue and toothpicks, and got her back up in the air, she’s not pretty anymore but now I’m not afraid to crash it again. Great videos, love watching them and seeing all your planes.
Thanks Mark!
Yup been there done that and I just did it again. sorry for your loss that was some big bucks.
Hey Gary that frikin sucks! Been flying for awhile and just did the same thing with my Avanti. Get that ARF + and get back on that horse. Like you said, it’s a blessing any of us can even do this considering life and all. Looking forward to more great flights!
According to the space I have to store aircrafts, I can only own 2 at a time, so whenever one crashes... I understand your pain. All the best for your next flights!
sorry too see that ! hope it can be repaired...that 7000mah seems like it'd be awful heavy for slow speed...just wondering...
I just got here too. - to learn about failures. I have done this many times and hope not to do this on my first jet… Thanks for sharing your flights!
Bad luck, but you did provide a valuable lesson to us all about turning downwind. Thanks. Good job.
Sorry to see it bite the dust
Gary but tomorrow is another day
He hasn't given you the muscle memory to fly for no reason
God bless you and yours
& keep calm and fly on !
Sorry man. I feel your pain. Don't give up. It will get better. All the best from All Motion Images!
Hate to see this Gary. I feel your pain losing two in one day. Especially two nice ones like that. You handle it very well and I’m looking forward to seeing you get back up in the air.
Ahahhahhahaha, I thought the same Thing, not even shaking?
Beauty Matt.
Yeah Gary, about the best thing to do on days like this is to think about and then thank God for all your blessings. I know that you know that in the big scheme of things this is small potatoes compared to so many bigger trials and tribulations - but it still hurts some and that can be understood.
Ps. I've been much better at landing in trees than I have been at crash landings. 😢😊
I sent My brand new Hurricane through the head of a gumtree a few months back, it was snowing foam.
Crashing is even worse when You have no idea what caused it.
Beauty Bill.
One for the newbies... You get roughly 60% less lift, flying EDF jet's, in a tight turn. flying slow is ok but power up on the turns 😜
??
Darn Gary, when I was down from crashes by buddies would always tell me that nobody got hurt, you can replace or repair planes, cheers, Jeff in LA USA
Brutal day. I admire your composure. I must say, I never thought you would get that Arrows Viper back in the air after the light pole incident. I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw this jet back in the air soon.
For sure. I loved this plane pretty quickly. I have parts ordered.
Oh my. I feel your anguish Gary.
Gary, that is so sad. I was watching your flights with this plane and you seemed to fly it low and slow, but you have to keep speed up with these planes. Rough break, you’ll get it next time!
I just recently crashed my viper 90mm whilst pratting around on my "last flight for the day". Got too cocky and put the jet in silly conditions that made it awkward for it to recover from. Only once u crash u realise what the hell was I doing?! Gutted as it was a total loss including the smart lipo. Reused the fan and esc in my F22 and got myslef a replacement viper and maidened it today. Love that jet! Each crash is from being silly and I wise up a tad after each one too. Keep up the good effort 👍🏾 Mark 🇬🇧
I hear you! I always seem to make mistakes when being silly. 😀🛩💯
Sorry about the crash hope your day gets better
Holy suffering. Thanks for showing us that. Keep up air speed lesson. Crashing is part of this hobby
Oh no! A complete bummer!!!
I've had one too many Viper wing drops so now I never piss it off when at quarter to a third throttle. They'll slow down for sure. But not as forgiving a stall as an F15
Really feel for you, I never like to see this happen but the positives do outweigh the negatives with this hobby, otherwise we’d all be giving up!
Agreed 👍
That is definitely a rough day, GG. I usually call it a day after I crash one, lol. That's OK, you'll be "back in the saddle" shortly.
Gary, dude, my heart breaks for you! Looks like damage was mostly to the fuse though, it totally sucks it looks like your battery got pretty mangled. As we all say...if you're not crashing, you're not flying! Hang in there buddy!
I think all of us here can feel your pain. Here is hoping tomorrow is a far better day for you, sir.
My heart is with you, I know this unpleasant sensation well. I hope that you can recover as many parts as possible to be able to rebuild this beautiful bird...
Frankinbirds usually, well sometimes fly better, ugly, but Your so happy for a little redemtion.
Hot glued. Good luck love your vedio’s
Man Gary that was hard to watch I’m sorry that it happened. Glad to see you still smiling at the end though please keep the great videos coming. We’re those batteries 30c and would you recommend the 7000 over the 5000. Thanks
Well I think the 7000 was fine but I know for sure the 5000 was great.
Ein richtiger Experte!
😢
Man Grandpa Gary hate to see that I hate to see anybody crash there plane!! But like you said God be with you!! You have a blessed day.
Sorry taht happened GG. I learned about Viper stall characteristics with the Arrows 50mm Viper. Maiden my Fms Blue Angels Viper this week and it went great.
I'm watching and screamed "No!". So sorry Gary, keep the faith!
Yeah... We all know it's part of the hobby... That we always learn from mistakes but... Sorry for you, hard times... Keep flying and have fun!
Oh No What a bummer 🙏✌️
Gary. I recently subbed your channel. You got a big heart my friend. Salvage what you can. I know you loved that bird. Get what you need and get it back in the air. We all know crashing is a painful part of the hobby. I been enjoying your videos. Take care, Brad. ☺️
Thanks Brad!
So sorry Gary!!! Looked like a great flight until , well…….hope you can salvage some things, thanks for sharing 👊🏼😖
Dam. Sorry to see. I hope you get another viper back in the air..
Hi Gary, i crashed my brand new pitts v2 , was so distraught it was my best looking plane, however with some glue and apoxy she is ready to be flown again, it sucks crashing, but guess its all part of the hobby, Have a great festive period and keep safe.
Gary sorry that happened I know that's not a cheap airplane I have my little learner pioneer 320 ready to fly one I haven't taken out of the box yet I'm just waiting to get a nice still day and a big open field so I may have the same results as you had possibly be well God bless be happy 😊
Man that sucked...sorry for the loss...it hurts to lose a great flying plane when you just start to get comfortable. It's all part of the hobby, you're gonna crash and it's not always your fault. Columbus, Ohio here pulling for you in Marysville!
Thanks! This has been repaired. I have a couple of flight videos out since the repair. You should check it out.
When I crashed my Pitts V2 from FMS, that was with my brand new Spektrum 6S 5000 and it was in such bad conditions... Amazing it didn't catch 🔥! I guess quality helps
Two winters ago I landed one plane hot and ran it into another I had on the ground . Boy was I disappointed! I feel your pain!
I‘m with you 🙈 lost my plane too in the last week 😔 its hard 😬
WOO!!! That gotta hurt!!, crashed my Flighline F7F Tigercat the same way
Just remember, sir if you’re gonna fly a jet, it needs to be at speed. if you want to slow it down and see when it’s gonna actually stall you need to be like 3 to 4 mistakes high. Good luck 👍🏼
Hi Gary, I am really sorry about this. Unfortunately this happens in this hobby. I know the feeling. Greetings from Finland. I like your videos.😊 Dirk
I fee your pain Gary.... hopefully you have recovered by now and back in the air with a new one :)
Yep it flies so good.
So sorry about your day Grandpa Gary. Two tough losses with planes you really enjoyed. Better days ahead.
Sorry for your losses, did the same stall with my new fw 190.
It sounds like your hangar opened up for a new 90mm jet. It is a love/hate thing, but there is nothing like a new plane. If they last more than 7 days of flying, usually they don't have many issues. Sorry to hear about your day!
So sorry about that. I feel for you. I'm just a beginner and i couldn't even tell what happened. It wasn't much. Not enough speed going into the corner and it tip stalled. I was flying my cheap little plane the other day and i put it into expert mode and it instantly just fell out of the air. I don't know how you guys fly so good with out safe. But you seem like a great guy and I'm pretty sure people will help you out and you will have another one. I subscribed but not to see you crash. Just keep on flying!!
Thanks for subbing! I will have it flying again soon.
Ahahahahaha!
I skipped out on GB's live stream this arvo, perfect tide to glide an totalled My Brewster an battery exactly the same way You did in Your Beautiful new Toy. Tip stalled with the wind. An like Yours in didn't look like it was that bad till I got on the scene!
I just survived cancer an there is nothing better than busting back into life.
All the best Gary, good health to You Mate!
Harsh!! That's gotta hurt... I hadn't crashed a plane in ages then a couple weeks back i crashed 2 in a week😫 I feel your pain...
GRAND PA Gary, I had one of them days recently also 2 major crashes in one day :(
I wrecked my Habu yesterday. It was flying fine then hit a light pole. I think I can fix it though.
Sad ending to otherwise good flight. Hope you get her flying again it is awesome jet. I have 10 flight on mine so far but I did learn from your mistake, no slow flying at low altitude. Tip stall everyone does it sooner or later.
Sorry to see that Gary. It was a bit of deja vu for me though. My maiden of the 90mm Viper was Saturday, and…same result! I have plenty of experience with warbirds and jets, but this stall just snuck up on me. In my case, a new fuse and right wing is what I needed, so it’s ordered. Looks like you might just need a fuse yourself. Best of luck to you!
Ordered, thanks and sorry to hear it.
I am very sorry you lost that nice plane Gary. All the best from Switzerland!
It was an easy repair. It flies just like new again.
@@IJustGotHere Super!!! Happy!!!!
Hate to see a crash, but I for one will be here for you tomorrow.
Gary I'm speechless. And sorry. Keep flying!
It will be OK! I'm looking forward to repairing it now.
Ouch. I feel your pain. Sorry man.
Sorry man! We all have had those horrible crashes and it hurts.
Man Gary your tough on planes!
Yeah, I've been told that before. 😅🛩👍
New subscriber here Gary…. Man, I hate this for you… I got my 70 mm too slow and lost it earlier this summer. Hang in there…
Thanks Eddie! I have parts ordered. They were showing in stock so hopefully I'll have them yet this week. I would love to fly this again by the weekend.
did you get to use the wing and tail group?
Yep
Sorry Gary. Looked like the 7000 was just a little to heavy for the slow turn. Or perhaps it shifted. I have had planes that crashed like that and I got glued them back together and had plenty of flights.
Sorry to see this! I have that jet and she’s very expensive and a beautiful plane! I hope you are able to fix her. Maybe a new fuselage and she should be back in no time!! Best wishes!
It was fairly easy to repair. It flies like new.
☃️ So sorry for your loss.
Sorry Gary 😞 looks like a new fuse but yeah arf plus I guess and you'll have spare parts 😉chin up buddy 👍😉
Sorry that happened GARY but like you said if that’s all that happens you’re golden hang in there!
Not to worry, that's the beauty of foam, an easy fix with a bit of reinforcement.
