      Young men stop telling the people them foolishness, because Frank Worrell was not the first black captain. To captain the wi team, because that is not true at all. George Headly was the first black captain, you guys need to do some research. Because both of you have no idea of what you are talking about, well I am going to try and respect your selection. Because I know that both of you don't see half of the players them, but I saw most of during their careers. how can you have Worrell ahead of Lloyd as captain, the man that won the most games. Also the most series you guys are very, very crazy. Also have George Headly over Gayle or Desmond Haynes,out of all the openers from the wi team. Gayle is far ahead of all of them,he is the only wi opener to scored two triple hundreds in test cricket and. His two triple hundreds should put him ahead of Greenidge and Haynes, plus his all round abilities to bowled. He also took 74 test wickets, you guys are very crazy. How can a man scored over 7,256 runs , compared Headley with only 2,245 runs , also over Haynes with 7,460 runs. Lloyd with over 7,546 runs 19 centuries , you guys are very, very crazy. You are just embarrassing yourselves, because you have no clue about cricket. Let me try to teach you guys, that having a higher average than the other person. That does not prove that he is a better batsman, only because of the more not out. Helps the batsman with the most not out,is going to end up with a better average than. The batsman with less not out, because it really depends on where the person is batting. Comparing to a batsman who is an opener,it is very, very rear. That a opener batting through a complete inning,or the team have a very short inning. You will hear people who does not know the intricacies about average, always kept emphasizing about a players average. Because he does not understand how to work out the average,else he wouldn't kept elaborating about it. I know that you have a lot of cyber bullies out there, they does not like to hear the gospel truth at all. When the truth hit some of them, they got very aggressive with me about the truth,ok.

    Interesting eleven. You went across eras and had George Headley open. I would have done the same. Tough luck to Desmond Haynes. Agree with the batsmen picked, really they just pick themselves.
    I would have got Clive Lloyd in place of Worrell. He instilled the killer instinct in the players and got them to be ultra competitive which helped them dominate the game for 15 years.
    Batting wise he was as good as Worrell. I would have picked Jeff Dujon in place of Walcott. a specialist keeper who could keep day in and day out to the fearsome 4some. The pounding he took from the fast bowlers may have had something to with his deteriorating batting skills in the latter part of his career. But still was a great keeper.
    Again, I would pick Andy Roberts in place of Gibbs simply because no team stood against them anywhere in the world for 15 years because of the pace quartet. Garry Sobers was always there for the spin options if they encountered a turner.

    Please allow me to name my Caribbean 11 and then I will explain my reasoning:1) Hunte, 2) Greenidge, 3)Headley, 4) Weeks, 5) Richards, 6) Sobers, 7) Walcott, 8) Roberts, 9) Garner, 10) Marshall, 11) Hall.
    Now, in my opinion, Headley is the greatest Caribbean batsman, he set the standard for others to follow. The great Australian spinner Grimmett once said Headley was the best batsman in the world, the reporters ran to Bradman and stated what Grimmet said and the great man just said, if he said Headley is the best batsman then he is the best.
    The three greatest Caribbean opening batsmen are Hunte, Greenidge, and Fredricks. GG is a better batsman but Freddo is the better opener. People used to say that Freddo could not play spin but he scored two hundreds in India, then saved the team against England on a turning pitch in Trinidad with the longest and most boring innings of his career, there was also another boring innings in England when he scored 150 plus when the ball was swinging. The test debut in Australia when MacKenzie hit him in the head but he batted on earning the nickname Cement Head from the Australian fans. There is no need to mention Perth in 75/76
    I believe that Robers is the greatest fast bowler to come out of the Caribbean.
    Kanhai is the greatest batsman, I have had the pleasure of watching but I don't have a place for him in the team not even as the keeper, the position goes to Walcott the coach who visited Port Mourant and saw him, Madray, Butcher, Solomon, and took them to the trials Guyana trials Georgetown.
    Sobers will bowl back of the arm spin in the team so there is no need for Gibbs.

    Headley never opened, Richards and Worrell did, so I would shuffle Headley down to #3 and have Worrell open.
    Walcott s/b replaced by Dujon. We need the best of the best in wkeeping skills since the batting has been adequately covered and he kept to most of the pace attack with acrobatic athleticism.
    For the bowling, variety edges firepower since this team will be playing all other AT XI's under all conditions. Thus Gibbs over Roberts or Garner. ' Caught Sobers bowled Gibbs ' was a common refrain in the 60's where Sobers would pouch amazing catches in the short-leg position.

    I want a couple of specialist openers. Sir G. Hadley batted at no.3. Let him bat in the middle order.
    Similarly, i want a specialist wc to keep the stumps against the most fearsome, intimidating pace attack. Hence Dujon as wc at no. 7. Sir Walcott was too great a batsman to come at no.7, n he kept wickets only for 15 test matches, not enough to prove his credibility as a keeper.
    I don't nd a specialist spinner with the kind of a pace battery this team has. In fact, Sir Sobers, the greatest of all, can do the spinning if nd be. Plus, we've Richards, whose spin could come handy.

    Nice team, but i will still go with clive Lloyd as captain over Worrell, because he achieve very little and the west indies was still not strong. It took clive lloyd brilliance to build a strong team and made us world champions.

      Thank you for your wonderful feedback. Yes, we love a good Worrell vs. Lloyd debate..lol both men had a big impact and were leader of men. It's just a matter of preference. Let us know your thoughts on our other West Indies Rankings videos.

      @@thereversescoopUSA your other rankings are pretty good, I have no problem with them. I just can't see clive lloyd out of an all time west indies team. Simply impossible. It just boggles my mind. I will now be having sleepless nights.

    It's foolish not to name RB Kanhai as a captain 😢

    • @thereversescoopUSA
      @thereversescoopUSA  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Perhaps this was a tough task to name XI out of such a great cricket legacy of West Indies cricket. Kanhai unfortunately missed out.

      Yes, we know, he preferred batting at 3, but we rekon that his technique was good enough to open as well, suggested by his first class stats.

    A very good list but not the best. Here's arguably the best XI in Test Cricket History. Greenidge, Hunte, I am going with the best openers no make shifts. Richards, Headley, Lara, Sobers, Hendricks, Marshall, Holding, Ambrose and Gibbs. Reserves are Weekes, Roberts, Dujon and Haynes.

    Can’t make this side above Weekes or even chanderpaul. This has to be madness

      We discussed that as well. Some potential changes could be Weekes for Worrell and Roberts for Gibbs if we go with an all pace attack. In that case, Sir Gary Sobers, or Sir Viv would lead.

    I don’t think you guys need a spinner. No disrespect to Lance Gibbs. No Garner, no Roberts, no Walsh. You guys have made the opposition batters a bit happier.

    • @thereversescoopUSA
      @thereversescoopUSA  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Andy Roberts would come in for Lance Gibbs if we go with an all pace an all pace attack. But a specialist spinner is most conditions is a must, hence we decided to put him in. Thank you for watching and being part of our community 😊

      @khurmiful Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@thereversescoopUSA thanks for replying, I understand one would need a spinner but as the great Windies sides of 70s and 80s demonstrated, they didn’t need a spinner. Remember them going to India after 83 WC final and trouncing them in India like no other team before or since has managed. And all this without a spinner. Besides, Lance’s test average or strike rate is nothing like the guys I mentioned.

      It was tough to fit in Andy Roberts in the all-time West Indies XI. He is our 12th man in this XI. If we go with an All pace attack, then Sir Andy Roberts comes in for Lance Gibbs.

      @thereversescoopUSA  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @user-xz2jb8fk6c those are some great suggestions. We discussed going with an all pace attack, but in the end, settled with Gibbs the spinner since we had 5 pace options in the lineup already.

    • @user-xz2jb8fk6c
      @user-xz2jb8fk6c Před 2 měsíci +1

      @thereversescoopUSA you already have Frank Worrell and Sobers bowling spin and Viv too. You don't need 4 spinners in a west indies team our strength was always in fast bowling.

    • @thereversescoopUSA
      @thereversescoopUSA  Před 2 měsíci +2

      @user-xz2jb8fk6c but a specialist spinner is always a must in a test line up unless the surface and conditions demand otherwise. Would you go with an All pace attack in India? Pakistan? Or even in home games? Australia, South Africa, and may be England are only places where an All pace attack might be suited.
