I wasn't harsh but I think the decline started not in 1995 but after1983 world cup. Packer era showed how West Indians could be lured by big money. The rebel tour to South Africa are examples. The board is paying players peanuts. Getting into the West Indies team is now a passport for playing in franchisee cricket. Do you think Nicholas pooran is only good for hit and giggle cricket that is T20. I don't think so. He is good enough to play Test cricket and so are many mercenaries. At the end of the money matters and lack of it is killing cricket in West Indies.

WI produced the grt 3Ws( Weeks, worrel, Walcot), the 3 S's (Sobers, soloman, Smith), and subsequently the grts like Lara, viv Richards, Richardson. Hunt, Holt, and many others. But now WI team is relegated to the LAST POSITION. The reason is that WI board is cash trapped and is not able to train cricketers though WI have enough talents. In India cricket is flourishing because the BCCI is stinking rich and the youngsters are attracted to cricket. Wish WI comes back as they were in the sixties
