This is a non emulation version direct from my Nintendo 64. Havent played since 99 and it shows Please subscribe to my channel and like my videos. I appreciate you. Thanks
I remember playing a lot of this! At rookie you could score a goal every 8 seconds or so, and the game would end up like 147-0 but the game wouldn’t be able to display such a big score, so it displayed something like &/% - 0 Thanks for the memories!
The easiest way to score in this game is to come in from a wide angle, move across the front of the net horizontally, then shoot -- the goalie is too slow to keep up. Loved that both of the major glitches of this game were shown in this clip: 1. When introducing the goalies before the game, they get the jersey number of the first goalie wrong (in this case it showed Vanbiesbrouck's number as 1). It's always the jersey number of the backup goalie of the other team. 2. A soft puck on net often goes beats the goalie five-hole. :)
I played this for the first time the other day, I was heartbroken I never played it sooner. Holds up well. Is the n64 version better than ps1 or is it just my eyes?
The N64 version has better image quality that the PS1. The PS1 has jaggies and the models have that “wobbling” effect that PS1 games have, but the N64 version is smooth.
I wouldn't say you played a bad game. Losing by one point isn't exactly being massacred. I would love some insights on the methods for doing the videos. I've been considering creating a Facebook page featuring various retro ice hockey games yet I'm not sure how I would shoot the videos.
Bryan Knotts I am hard on myself, I hate to lose even though I tend to lose more then I’d enjoy admitting. In regards to doing videos I have an elgato device and software that I connected my laptop into and the systems plug from the system to the laptop and I use the microphone of the laptop as my sound for commentary, I generally mute the tv a lot of the games. Sometimes I’ll get a headset and listen to the sound through them but sometimes I record for a long time and it becomes annoying. Newer devices don’t support the rca plugs so you have to find old tech to switch from rca to hdmi on some systems, I have a eon super 64 on my Nintendo 64 now so I can play games through hdmi easily now and can even do some smoothing in ups along with mixed results but no lag. If you have any questions, I’m happy to answer them .
that game is so easy on one of my first try i won 16 to 8 on all star mode cant believe anyone any good at this game with have fun with this winning 20 to nothing and never losing
On Nintendo? I believe EA stopped on N64 because of costs Carts were very expensive compared to playstation discs. Since then EA has done research and have opted not to make their games on Nintendo platforms I am personally stunned with the success of nba 2k18 that EA hasn't tried to go back to switch with at least Madden and or NHL. I think the last hockey games were made by 2k on Wii and they didnt do well and they stopped making games all together.
30 plus years of playing these games, I think The only thing I have ever changed was music and mostly that was for CZcams , I never turned off commentary even though some games could have been better without it
“Northbound on a southbound freeway. Look out!”
FRIGHT TRAIN
WHOOOOO OHHHHH
Bill clement is a legend
That announcer is what drives this game for me over other NHL games using a similar engine. He kicks ass. So many memories playing this as a kid.
I hated him lol
My exact thoughts. I played this game so much and he was the main reason I kept going back to it!
*NORTHBOUND ON A SOUTHBOUND FREEWAY LOOK OUT*
*WHOAAA FREIGHT TRAIN*
I loved breaking the glass in this game by the puck or a body check. So many memories I used to go hard on this game lol
The music in this game is outstanding for a N64 game...
Yea it’s always been impressive, ps1 version’s music was a step above though
the gameplay is still better than current generation of nhl games, lmao...
No way lol
Don’t get crazy.
Best nhl game ever
At the age of 5, This was the first game that i ever played and continued to play for many years! :D :D CHILDHOOD IS BACK :D
FoxFerocity damn u played this at 5?

That strategy worked for like 15 years straight lol.
Yep, we used to call that move, “The Swerve” lol.
The memories I have playing this with my older bro are classic. He would pick the Red Wings and I would get the Mighty Ducks and we would go at it!
This was my 1st N64 game, alongside with NBA Jam 2000. My brother and I had such fun memories with this game
I created Mario Lemiuex in NHL 99 N64 for Penguins with 66.
BestNHL game used to loooooove playing and creating players!!
I can appreciate the actual N64 capture. Thank you for uploading ! I Subscribed !
Im not a hockey fan even when I played this as a kid but it gave me so many memories about how wild the sport could be and love this game forever!!

Brought back some memories
I love NHL 99, it definitely brings back all those memories for me as well, thx for watching
when nhl games were good
I was 18 playing jr hockey playing this game in 1999. Back then it was awesome but now holy fuck its worse than NHL 94
i have alot of fun playing world of chel and franchise mode in nhl 19
He was facing the wrong way on the first goal.
Nice intro! Can’t figure out the memory pack
I love the n64 it really is a great console
FREIGHT TRAIN CHOOOOOOO! Plus EPIC save @ 19:32
"Has anybody seen my wallet?"
That menu is remarkably high res for N64. Is that running at 480i?
I forgot how hard the menu music goes in this game
FIRE
I see why we liked this so much

season 99 right? of nhl?
2020 anybody ?,
That pesky two line pass rule. Glad that is over with.
Was "rode him like a rented mule" a commentary or was that just a fever dream of mine?
Lol commentary that you just don’t hear on games anymore
Losing team just faces the crowd lol
That first goal was trash lmao what was the goalie doing.
Gameplay looks better on n64 graphics wise, but everything else sounds and plays better on os1
Eric Jackson yes framerate and graphics are smoother on n64 but sound quality is much better on the ps1
The controls easy to play this game?
sirgigglez so easy
HI, are you playing on crt tv
I’m using a E.O.N. 64 to play via hdmi
that game is so easy on one of my first try i won 16 to 8 on all star mode cant believe anyone any good at this game with have fun with this winning 20 to nothing and never losing
that's because it's all about 1v1 and 2v2 when you're drunk w/ friends
1:35 skipping intro
I literally read every single comment!
Game on everyone
Lol the intro isn’t anything like it was on PC
Why did it stop after 99

There's The World is Not Enough for the N64. That game is made by EA.
@@davidb69 I always liked the Nintendo 64 a bit better then the ps one. For the simple reason they use carts and not disks
Canadian Outdoor Wonders it’s a fair criticism
11:45
This music warms my heart at beginning
the dekes are so bad lmao. classic game though. my first hockey game i ever played on playstation
The announcer is really obnoxious compared to the PS1/PC version
its easy to score wht not get a ps3 and play nhl 15 or 16
I always turned off the commentator lol
30 plus years of playing these games, I think The only thing I have ever changed was music and mostly that was for CZcams , I never turned off commentary even though some games could have been better without it
