Never thought I'd be alive to see the day Bandy complained about the N64
Same here
And moreover to see the triggered video for it more than twice as long as they usually are

But it’s Bathaniel Nandy that’s complaining… waaaiiittt

Ok cool thanks for the comment nice 2021

Isn't that just DeviantArt in a nutshell?
I got the "They put the 64 in so many titles" joke in a few seconds
But the joke just got increasingly funnier and funnier when he legit sat down to list that many titles with 64 in them xD

I got it as soon as he said "Mario Kart 64"

8:43 "And then finally, for our final frickin' finale, ONE THAT CAN SPEAK IN JAPANESE!!!"
No, that says "ZZZ"
When i was a kid in 1999, my dad came home with that jungle green N64 that came with a copy of DK64. That was when i became a true gamer! Still have that jungle green console to this day and it still works!
I don't have my first consoles anymore. I only have a Switch, 3DS, and PS3. Also a Sega Genesis Flashback that I never use because it's glitchy. It crashes randomly, and in Shining Force 2, my favorite classic game, freezes whenever anyone uses magic. Cool that you still have your N64, though!
Jacob Strangman it is but while the console still works, had to replace the controllers a few times the past 5 years. I buy the non-standard but NOT knock-off controllers so that’s probably why
Mmm ... dat sleek jungle green n64
Smash Bros may have already released
We had a PS4. I played a lot of Limbo (by Playdead from 2010) and Leo's Fortune.
My first console (that I owned) was a 3DS. I had Hey Pikmin. Mario Kart 7. A Lego Batman game. And a LOT more. I was absurdly spoilt.
Props to Nintendo for basically giving us the PlayStation
Yes
@@KEN-1991 you're saying that as if nintendo doesn't have absolutely crappy practices like everyone else lol
@@KEN-1991 no one said anything about being on top...why is everything has to one up something or someone...jesus.
To be honest, it was probably a blessing. A lot of modern gaming franchises likely wouldn't exist and there wouldn't be as much competition.
Definitely left us with a lot of good Playstation and Nintendo games for everyone to enjoy

I just noticed that. Nice that Nintendo referenced one of their underrated Mario titles in Mario maker 2
The course bot before the coursebot
Actually it was like thag in super mario maker, so reffer to that one instead of smm2
If Nathaniel doesn't mention Super Mario 64 in the Mind Blowing video, you know something will not be right.

the intro was a reference to his old intro lol

Nathaniel Bandy got hacked so yeah something wasn't right...
The N64 is probably my favorite console because of its game library, especially when it comes to multiplayer games.
My personal favorite is GameCube
So many classics that still in my opinion hold up extremely well 20 some years later
@@Terror832 I think Gamecube and N64 were equal in that regard. Their libraries were quite similar with many timeless classics. I wish there would exist more memes about them.
Rogue squadron' Banjo Tooey' Mariokart 64' Mario 64' Zelda ocarina of time' oo7. This was one of the greatesr consoles of all times with all it's games and the other componies Nintendo worked with like Rare. You can call the 64 outdated in graphics or something compared to moderne consoles but the 64's great games more then make it up

Are you doing something with the N64 in another video again
10:04 not a joke! It actually did! And I already knew that!
Nathaniel actually made this video just to spend time with the N64 and play the rare/obscure N64DD.

2:04 and because of it we have the CDi cutscenes which are so bad it's good
I just want that green Nintendo 64. It looks so good. Also I forgot the N64 had a mic.
8:55 That sounded like EarthBound.
13:18 "A NEW RECORD LONG SHOT!" with 2ft! Nintendo, why? lmao

Can we just acknowledge the fact he named every game for the N64 with 64 at the end. You have my respect man.
9:29 and suddenly, sega saturn.
They did hurt themselves at the time with carts over disks, but I'll say as a retro collector, Carts are so much better than disks, a disk can trick you into thinking it works and then a few hours into a game you can't proceed because part of the disk can't be read. A cart either works or it doesn't.
also I find it way too easy to damage disks. They get scratched if anything gets inside the disk input thingymajig and from literally doing anything else.
Agreed. I'm really sad that my Tony Hawk Underground 2 GC game doesn't read properly anymore.. it'll boot into the game and get into a mission level, but then it'll show a red screen that says "your game has encountered an error. Please do not remove disks while the console is turned on". No matter what, i get that screen after about 30 minutes into the game. It's a shame... The disk and case are signed by the skate god himself
I love how nowadays we're basically heading back to cartridges to some extent once the technology overcame its one big limitation of low storage space and now its basically kicking disks ass in just about every front. wonder how things could of been had the n64 somehow got the modern improvements to cartridge technology but had a similar storage capacity of disks at the time (and just that while everything else stayed the same)down to even its cost.
Yeah, I've always much preferred cartridges over discs as a gamer for two reasons.
1) Carts (especially Nintendo) are more durable than titanium I swear. Since I got my first console as a kid, having something that could handle being dropped and misused without breaking is a big plus. You get one little scratch on a cd and it's ruined lol.
2) Cartridges are considerably harder to lose than tiny discs which is another small feature that I appreciated as a kid.
Personally I'm glad to hear that they're coming back in some small way, I've always had nostalgia for retro gaming while also appreciating the genuine perks that cartridge gaming had
It's a bit different technology. Old cartridges were basically just read-only memory that plugged directly into the system. Modern (DS and newer) cartridges are more like SD cards or SSDs. They are slower to access than ROM, but have much higher storage capacity.
Anybody catch the Mario Maker Coursebot tune at 8:53

I love how he went WTF
I have N64.
I have no complaints.
Fun Fact: my dad had a N64 when he was a kid. He is in his 40's. No controllers have broken. And it still works perfectly.
yeah, those things are invincible
2:00 I love how Bandy roasts Nintendo and PlayStation simultaneously.
7:29 the text definetely said that it was a spiny shell
I just want to say the N64 shared the same issue the NES had, that being alot of the games on the system didn't age well
True. The n64 is like the nes but for 3d games. It was ground breaking back in The day, but it didn't age well, with framerate problems and dated graphics. The gamecube is like snes: They have more power and aged better than their predecesors, but they were not as mind-blowing
This is probably the largest triggered video that is not a compilation! Goes to show how much he loves the Nintendo 64.
I thought it goes to show how many games end in 64
And also the largest triggered that doesn’t have a hidden NB Original. (I’m looking at you, LEGO Mario.)
I love the nintendo 64 it was my dad's introduction to gaming
5:06 Yoshi might’ve framed Mario for his tax frauds
Thanks for letting me make the N64 NB logo for this video! It was a lot of fun to work on :D
3:58 BANDY STOLE FROM BLOCKBUSTER!!!
13:06 There's a game for the Wii called we love golf, I don't think there will ever be a worse golf game than that one.
I actually still have my original N64 from when I was a kid and last I checked, it still works fine
In my experience, the N64 is probably one of the most sturdy if not the most sturdy console of all time. I've saw ones that were in bad shape and they still worked perfectly. The most common failure points to look after are the cartridge slot (a small bath in alcohol 90% for a few hours does the job of cleaning it if necessary) and the power supply (I had one which died on me not too long ago, I thought at first it was the console but it was the PSU). Other than that they were all good to go 😄
I just realized bandy had mrs. Pac-Man 64 playing in the background LMAO
7:30 it says "shiny shell", which doesn't make much more sense lol
Man! This brought back so many memories from my childhood!
7:30 You're right, they're calling it a SHINY shell.
logic
and i don't mean it being called a shiny sheel

Love that the video starts with Ms. Pac Man: Maze Madness First Stage Music! Awesome tune! Great vid, even coming from someone who collects mostly for and loves the N64.
Okay can we talk about the fact that the N64 version of resident evil 2 is impressive because they were able to fit a two-disc game on two and then 64 cartridge with the FMVs included
14:08 As a French, I can confirm that the PAL version of Super Mario 64 had these sound effects and the weird castle music.
The most primitive computer storage was punch cards. Then came reel to reel magnetic tape. _Then_ came floppy disks, which were pretty revolutionary for the time. After that came the technological breakthrough of encoding your data onto cakes. And then someone thought “hey, what if the cakes were _really_ flat, like pizzas?”, and thus CDs were born.

This has been one of my wanted videos thanks you so much nb
When you are just trying to learn the controls and your friend lends you a hand by flexing and boasting what's the tricks on the Nintendo
When NB started listing the N64 game names that have 64 in their name, the whole time I was like “NB, it’s okay to breathe!” “Dude, Breathe!!”
13:47 Isn't that the actual track used for Super Mario 64 DS? When you said it sounds odd, I didn't know what you meant because I am young enough to be used to the DS version, not the original... 😅
Edit: I just compared it again. It's not quite the same but really not a big enough difference to feel odd about in my opinion.🤔
The fat woman in the cube moving around had me laughing so hard I couldn't breath for like 3 minutes
0:27 "why have the controller moulded this way"
Me: I agree how am I supposed to use a fork for a video game controller?
11:48 yeah, the gameplay of doshin the giant isn't the best at all, but its message and history is actually quite amazing. Especially when you come to the ending or get into "devil mode"..
Especially for the message and story, the gameplay of main doshin has to be "bad". (Although for the time, the sandbox simulation was actually quite good. Especially the terraforming)
The thing about Donkey Kong 64 needing an expansion pack is a myth:
"Stevenson called Marlow's story a "myth" and said that the Expansion Pak was required early on in development. Though such a bug did exist toward the end of development, according to Stevenson, "the Expansion Pak wasn't introduced to deal with this and wasn’t the solution to the problem." Nintendo said that the choice to bundle, rather than selling the accessory separately, would avoid consumer confusion." from Nintendo Life

10:30 ya know what ive seen enough
You used Cleopacra for the first part of this video. This provides much respect for Ms. Pac-Man that is sadly lacking with Namco Bandai these days. Yeah, I know it's because of copyright, but it would be nice if there was a way they can work around this and maybe get the Pac-Man World games back again!
The thing that makes the Wii remote different from the N64 controller is that one breaks your thumb and one breaks your wall
