    I have been studying Geography extensively as a part of my UPSC preparation, and i really appreciate the efforts of how such vague topics have been easily explained through animations. This is revolutionary!❤

    This is a really fantastic video about the formation of jet streams. I had been studying the topic in detail for some time, but the clarity this video brings is truly praiseworthy. Please keep up the good work. The animations are absolutely brilliant. I wonder how much effort must be going into preparing them. Thank you very much. Very nice.

    This is an excellent lesson. Thank you. May I ask why the meanders, and thus Rossby waves, form in the jet stream in the first place?

    • @zetaupsc
      @zetaupsc  Před 9 měsíci

      Thanks, rossby waves are formed due to conservation of vorticity,

    Sir, when you were explaining about the pressure gradient due to temperature difference in air masses, in the vertical air column, why was it shown that the wind moves from the aircolumn with the low pressure to air column with the high pressure near the poles?

    • @zetaupsc
      @zetaupsc  Před 9 dny

      The air at eauto has low pressure on surface but. If you go in upper atmosphere the air accumulates and at equator in upper atmosphere you have high pressure similarly at poles the pressure at surface is high due to descending air but at poles in upper atmosphere u will see low pressure. In the video the air colums are used to demonstrate that if we take a column of air at equator and a column of air pole having same xcrosssectional area and same weight, then the column at equator will we longer due to low density of air while air columns at pole will be shorter at poles. Therefore a natural pressure gradient exists from equator to air the movement of air in all level shows the effect of these gradient on them when all other effects are not considered

    • @dekithondup6498
      @dekithondup6498 Před 9 dny

      @@zetaupsc so sir, can we consider the entire above phenomena of pressure gradient in the upper atmosphere and the corresponding wind flow to be associated with the 3 cells of air circulation ( Hadley, ferrel and polar cells)?

    • @zetaupsc
      @zetaupsc  Před 9 dny

      @@dekithondup6498 I did not understand your question here. But in the video we are considering the effect of temperature gradient causing pressure gradient and then explaining how jetstres are formed. The three cells have other forces acting on it, so these winds are resultant of the combined forces, I have a video on permanent winds may be that will help

    Tell as about jet stream arctique .. there is 3 type . Polaire. Intertropical and arctique

    • @zetaupsc
      @zetaupsc  Před 3 měsíci +1

      There are many types of jetsteams, here in Indian subcontinent there is easterly jetsteam and Somali jet stream. However there are only two global jet streams per hemisphere tropical and polar jetstream. There could be a local arctic jetsteam just like Somali jetsteam but I am not aware of it.

    Sir, Why there's more deflection for speedy winds?

    • @zetaupsc

      Because the coriolis force is given by 2m wxv. i.e. curl of w and v, were v is velocity of moving air
