To be fair, I really do think it's debatable if a screw, a wedge, and an inclined plane really -are- all different simple machines. I have -my- opinion on the matter, too, but I think there's room for more than one correct way to categorize the simple machines.
You know Brennan was like "is this what people mean when they say actual play is nothing like real D&D" but frankly, bypassing all the DM's plans in favor of nonsense and ignoring cool fights to do ethics and diplomacy is EXACTLY what my players do, even when the enemies more or less say in plain Common "I am the vanguard of a colonizing army and pose a direct threat to the lives of innocents and the freedom of your entire continent" so
That sounds exactly like what I would do in DnD, because tbh I think my fantasy is a world where you can use magical powers/insane martial prowess to just force institutions to function and help people lmao. But also trolls are there.
I'm pretty sure that was his point. Most actual plays portray fairly on-rails games, but this one is more chaotic, and therefore more like home games / 'real' d&d.

The first one shot I ever ran was a classic dungeon crawl, my players did one fight, then spent the rest of the time stealthing around, using the power of wizardly breakdancing and tactically viable fart jokes
Brennan desperately trying to save his ongoing Hex spell somehow is the funniest shit, rather than coming off as annoying metagaming. Simply by making the metagaming a meta-joke
Deputi is, mechanically speaking, an object and so should not be a valid target for hex, but I don't blame the table for not realizing this

@@sword7166 yep. I just did a dungeon crawl with numerous encounters between rests as a warlock where you had to really manage resources and I used hex for the damage boost because you can keep it up for an hour on a single slot.

I tried to teach my brotherâs how to play, My youngest brother was not into it include a character off of Chris Baumstead and Insisted that he only works out. My oldest brother crazy a paladin who has an actually good paladin. My last brother decided to make it 4 foot six dwarf barbarian who murders men, women, and children, ate his mother and father, wears nothing but a loincloth, and flirts with every women around. It would have been a nice easy introduction if âSnorlak the Destroyerâ wasnât cracking dirty jokes and trying to kiss there guide.

Aabria's DMing style amazes me. They have mastered the chaos dm method unlike anyone I've ever seen. The level of just "ok. we're doing this now" comes off so flawlessly and effortlessly it's just amazing. If Brennan has mastered Judo DMing Aabria has mastered drunken boxing DMing. One thing Aabria does as a DM that I really love is when she allows certain actions as long as the PC can describe how it would work in game. "Describe how paddles gives you advantage in combat" is a good example, when the player has to/can justify certain actions it really adds to the experience and keeps things within bounds, definitely something I will be using in my future campaigns.
