Do a LOST analysis,it has a lot of material.
Ladies only like it bc Krasinski, who is trash as is the office
I'm curious of you're thoughts on season 2 and 3
Your channel is the Jack Ryan of youtube channels. No flash, all substance.
Imagine if Amazon cast Rainn Wilson as the antagonist for Jack Ryan: Season 2?
Ben Wasserman Then all of our wildest dreams would come true! (It’d be great if they could get Oscar to work at the department to help Jack solve things with his brilliant mind!)
That's what she said!!!
@@JPMJPM Great, now I'm just fantasizing of the entire office cast playing characters in season and at the end Jim wakes up from a dream, and anything short of that will be a disappointment.
Oh my gosh, YES!
@@tskwared667 the Bob Newhart show already did that.
My favorite line in the show was what the sex trafficker said to him in the car (10:40). "If I was born in a nice city in America. I could be the good guy". The environment we live determines everything about us, our morals, or way of looking at things. Jack was behaving like a perfect Boy Scout in this foreign country where he had no idea of what people have to do to survive, and this was slowing him down in the search.
That's bs. That's an excuse for doing evil things. Jeffrey Epstein was raised in an upper-middle-class environment and became a sex--trafficker; yet, Ben Carson was raised in a lower than low-class environment and became a leading surgeon in pediatric neurosurgery. Bad guys whine and moan about how their lot in life decided their fate; good guys don't let statistics have the upper hand and decide their own outcome.

Am not gonna lie,I watched The whole show in one sitting.
Same, and this makes me want to see it all again.
That's impossible
Same! I couldn't stop. The part at the bank had me in such tears, I had to pause it
same here! :D
Jack Ryan is just an every day guy...yeah an Ex-Marine with a PhD in economics. Great show though.
ador757 that is possible. It it completely within human skills and possibilities. exceptional but mostly due to extent of work not impossibility of it.
If you talk to enough Ex-Marines or even guys with PhDs, you find that behind the past and title they are all every day guys.
Some of the most accomplished people you meet can have an everyday guy aura about them.
My dad has a PhD and he is very much a normal guy
@@aidanmungai2290 Does your father have military experience? No? Then your dad is just a half-a-day semi-normal guy :D
Jack Ryan is the patient hunter.
By understanding his quarry, he is the best qualified individual to pursue them.
Lord Bloodraven You realize that you are describing Dwight Shrute, right?
The drone worker was so depressed and his character was very interesting. I am glad he got to see the family and tell them what he did and trying to make amends
Now that you're tackling Amazon shows, do Marvelous Mrs. Maisel next.
And Patriot
RvnE39 and The Boys
He can play every character in the world but for me he'll always be Jim from the office.
I spent 10 years as a linguist/analyst with the NSA. I left in 2008 because of my moral objections to the shit I saw on the inside at the height of the GWOT.
Your analysis here is spot on. I guarantee you’ll be bombarded with vitriolic comments. Ignore them as they come from the ignorant.
I strongly doubt that real NSA employee would write about this so openly on CZcams.
George Calm We also don’t add it in our LinkedIn profiles or even add it to our resumes. Because, you know, secret squirrel and stuff.
😐
Gaston, are you related to Mr. Buttlicher?
Sure you did pal.
Doesn't have to be a buff, suave man's man...Have you seen the shirtless scenes? He is about as far away from his Office days as he is gonna get.
Thank you so much for talking about Suleiman! If I’m honest, one of my main reasons for watching the show was because of how they portrayed him. Amazing analysis as usual!
I’ve always loved the Jack Ryan character. Ever since Harrison Ford played him in Patriot Games. A moderate conservative. He has a strong moral compass, believes in government but has the mindset to question American foreign policy.
As someone who's watched hundreds of Action Movies, I can say that while this Jack Ryan is a great and interesting character and hero, he is NOT an Action Hero.
The whole point of an "Action Hero" is that they use destructive action to drive the plot, it's right there in the term. Jack subverts many action hero tropes, but at the end of the day he subverts too many to be considered an Action Hero (it would be like calling someone who doesn't read a bookworm), if anything Jack Ryan fits the "Action Survivor" trope more.
For an example of an idealistic hero who is still a true Action Hero, I'd still point to Steve Rogers from the MCU; He's kind and always fights for what's right without compromising his morality or humanity but still kicks ass.
Its crimes drama thing maybe?
great post! to add, I met John Krasinski at an event- super nice guy.
Viking12 Really? I am so jealous! What event?
it was a governor's ball for the academy a few weeks back@@JPMJPM
All I see is Jim Halpert. I half expected him to make faces at the camera the whole season.
Joe Acosta Wait til you see the parody trailer for the new show where they replaced the action scenes with Office footage
He winked a few times...
No kidding about the cyber crimes in our times. Had a frozen system error at my work (a grocery store) this week that caused all registers to not work. The fact that it took about a half hour concerned me, had me wondering how close we were getting to having a digital winter. A real concept that barely anyone in this college town I live had heard of.
Husband. Material.
This guy went from a poor man’s Martin Freeman to action star/horror director? What?
Martin Freeman is the poor man's Martin Freeman
An excellent description of Jack Ryan: 2021 spy for today.
A very brilliant analysis...spot on. Its not black and white anymore...it never WAS !! We r just realizing it now.
Thanks! I have something to binge now :D
Y'all did it again. I will be watching yet another show I had no prior interest in because I love the way you talk about it.
Very happy his show did good he deserves it good guy forsure
I wonder if Tom Clancy was thinking all of that when he was writing the book.
These Prime Videos are very well done. Far better than Hollywood remakes with zero creativity. Great to see they go to in-country sets. Cinematography excellent as is the casting. These episodic formats allow a scene to breathe and time to develop characters in broader time spans. Welcome to the future.
This is a hero I could get behind
Thanks for the suggestion of this tv-show. I guess I'll watch it :-)
Nerds are my kind of guy.....I mean hero. 🤓
And all of suddenly everyone try to becoming nerds BY LOOKS, because being nerd is cool now a days. By wearing thick frame "stylish Glasses", and operating little bit technology doesn't make them Nerds.
That's the thing that made me do a double take on the take. That it seems impossible to choose the have an authentic loving life ,but is yes it is . When I realize that my neverending journey 9of love and belief is not only a far away possibility it's happens right now for me. Thank you so much for putting me on the liberating road.
The only part of this new take on Jack Ryan I’m not quite down with is Jim Greer. Clancy wrote Jim Greer as Jack Ryan’s political shield. Greer ran the political game to shield Jack to follow his “wild” or “unrealistic” analysis and theories. Having Jim Greer out in the field swinging an M4 rifle isn’t quite right. Believe it or not, the James Earl Jones version was the perfect one “I said speak your mind Jack, but... Jesus...!” [Hunt for Red October] being a great example of the relationship...
Excellent, as always!
Wow, ScreenPrism, very cool!
He’s adorable and it’s so fitting he’d marry adorable Emily Blunt too, so glad they don’t really live in ‘The Quiet Place’....oooh, still gives me the shivers!😱
Can you guys please do an episode on Lou Solverson from Fargo?
Best tv show period
GREAT vid (as usual) ladies! I gotta admit- I thought this show was "meh" (as a whole), BUT there is some V good acting (esp. from Krasinski & the main villains). I liked how Jack used his brains more (& tech), BUT I didn't like the (underdeveloped) romance angle.
Another great analysis! I didn’t think to compare the two lead characters. I definitely didn’t believe suleman to be all bad. No straight forward good or bad guy!
PLEASE do Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
When was Jack Ryan recast? It's not even half a decade yet. I was still waiting for a follow-up of Shadow Recruit.
I would love to see an analysis over The Americans, the Bourne series, Homeland, or 24, but I'd be okay if you don't if you keep making quality videos like this.
James Healey
Nothing much about Bourne to analyze besides poor cinematography
Paging on marvel, CAN YOU PLEASE CAST HIM ALREADY AS REED RICHARDS TOGETHER WITH HIS WIFE!?!?
Please do one on Ray Donovan. Thank you.
Well James Bond certainly doesn't have a strong moral compass
Kal El
That’s kind of what makes him so interesting. He’s a bad guy on a leash
Another video with John Krasinsky? You girls have a serious crush on the dude!!!
Is this episode supported by Amazon prime by any chance?
gnarlin No, Dashlane.
I can't go to Yemen, I'm an analyst!
If only Rey or Captain Marvel were written like this...
They charged me for the free trial. I'm not sure what to do. I just wanted to try the service(MUBI) out for a month and then proceed accordingly. I'm poor and it hurts!
Jack Ryan = Chuck 😁👌
Ojalá salga clark y ding chavez en la temporada 2.
most operatives and agents are usually are the most mundane looking people especially when it comes to blending in with the crowd. All that flashy high speed action crap are just in the movies. Same goes for soldiers in war around 80 percent of the time you just waiting until your are told to do something.
If my brother was Action Hero would be Jack Ryan
The Hunt for Red October. I love that film and that version of Jack Ryan. :)
Screenprism please please please do and analytical explanation of the shows Burn Notice 24 and Nikita!😇😎👍
Please answer my Question on the inception Video :)
Please do HBO's Oz sometime?
Jack Ryan -- *_The Next Chuck Norris_*
Hardly
Nice video! But Jack Ryan in general is not totally of our times, the books are from the 80s and the Harrison Ford was movie Jack in the 90s.
And how Tom Clancy wrote Jack Ryan isn't that different, sure the technology is modern, but Jack Ryan was never meant to be an action hero, just a some what normal man thrust into extraordinary circumstances. For the action stuff there was a separate character, John Clark, and even he wasn't the perfect action hero.
I am Jack's low self-esteem.
but despite all this he somehow becomes president in the books
Book Jack Ryan Sr. spent his day behind the people with guns, and a desk
Ok.
Think this Ryan borrowed some mannerisms from Harrison Ford's older protrayal
Wall we get a video on Carrie Mathison? Or other characters of this type?
Feeling Suleiman pain.
With all the whining going on about entertainment today, Amazon nailed it with both their adaptations of Reacher and Jack Ryan, because it’s not just the idea of brains, or brawn, but that you actually need both.
Audiences are tired of “deconstruction” and protagonists that are being portrayed as incompetent. It’s not that Jack Ryan is that much different from heroes in the past, it’s just the Hollywood has been on this crusade for the last few decades of this ideology of subversion that heroes like Jack Ryan now seem like a breath of fresh air when the strong moral protagonists is the most nostalgic take you have with a modern action hero.
0:34 Dominic's hot lods? 🚗
He's the Reluctant Hero Archetype, if thats even a thing. Maybe Edward Snowden
Oh shit i should of watchted the video before commenting lol
The trouble with America, particularly these days, is that half the population thinks in terms of nuance, shades of grey, and decisions that are not simple and that have unexpected consequences... And the other half of the population likes sound bites, simple decisions, and wants to be told what is right or wrong and is unable or unwilling to apply critical thinking to what they hear.
This isnt the first intelligent spy character though.. Ethan Hunt, Jason Bourne , Jack Reacher, Even Sherlock Holmes
Good analysis but the tv show Condor was a much better example of this.
Krasinski channeled the character from the books fairly well, although, if he added a little bit of Alec Baldwin's version he might be even more effective.
Wait Jack Ryan fought the ira?
ZOINKLES in the novel which were set in the 80s
@@donalking1547 Oh thought it was fighting the Russiains
Completely unnecessary nudity, sex scenes, violence and swearing makes a show I cant watch with my kids, girlfriend or mom in the room. Yet my family members actually like the character of Jack Ryan having watched the movies with me multiple times. Whole family was looking forward to this show, looking forward to all sitting down together to watch.... :(
Who else got a little bit angry with Jim for cheating on Pam in this TV show? I had to FF. I couldn’t bear to watch it.
Next video:
Jim Halpert- The Action Hero of Our Time
I know a guy from shchool named jack ryan.
Buffy&Willow, please...
A Muslim Main Villain, now were Talking Serious. I'm Waiting for a Muslim Hero in America.
Now do an analysis of Lion King
Here too early, still in 144p
I haven't seen the show, but perhaps a significant difference between the two characters is left out of this analysis: that Suleiman believes deeply that doing A in life gets him B in the afterlife. Perhaps that fundamental stance is an area where "West" really is "best"?
Jack Ryan = Alec Baldwin.
With all due respect Sir, Harrison Ford is the Jack Ryan.
Being anti-Muslim isn’t racist anymore than being anti-Christian is being racist. All religious dogmas deserve scrutiny. Other than that, good video.
Yesss amen
Of all actor who did jack ryan. This one is boring.
Sooooooo he’s basically the same kind of hero as Nathan drake. Video games did it first makes sense because they are the superior art form.
Batty Man
They’re both pretty blah characters
Batty Man Technically the books and other movie adaptations like The Hunt For Red October came lonnnnnng before Uncharted
It was a good show then the ending was shit
Jack Ryan is the dullest action hero to date. And Krasinski is the WORST Jack Ryan.
This show is CIA propaganda and your failure to realize that is surprising to me
You're kidding right??? You are an idiot
Honestly, this is why I never cared for Jack Ryan outside of the Ford movies. I don't want to see a physically weak emotional self doubting man. Nerds do not make for interesting protagonists unless they have some kind of superpower ala Chuck.
