I much prefer this to naked bikes, it is a shame almost all manufacturers stopped making these semi-aggressive sport touring bikes. Today you only have the H2 SX, Ducati Supersport 950 and those are the only two that comes to mind actually =(
Ninja 1000SX and Suzuki GSX-S1000GT sucks, you sit straight up which feels/looks weird on a bike that looks sporty like that. If you are not 160cm tall you are going to get all wind on you like a naked bike anyways since sitting so straight up so bike like that are useless I think.
This Sprint however is much more like the VFR 800F, you sit with like 20 degrees forward lean which is still very comfortable for long distance riding, you get less weight on your a$s and some more on your wrist but not anything extreme like a supersport, just enough for it to be perfect balance for touring. And you also feel/look more sporty with the bike.
I think it is much better leaning in a bit to the wind, just takes some rides getting used to if you are coming from a naked bike with up right bars. But once you get used to it, it feels much better.
There is rumors going around that Honda is making a new, around 1000cc VFR, I really hope they are not screwing it up and keep the clip-on bars like they used to have on their very popular VFR 800 and 1200 F, similar to this Triumph Sprint ST. I also hope some more manufacturers will start doing these semi-aggressive sport tourers again.
The only thing with this Sprint ST is that it weighs 240 kg fully fueled and has around 125 hp, if triumph made a new one with their new Speed triple 1200 engine and made it weigh around 210-230 kg fully fueled I think they would sell a lot of them, especially if Triumph added a better upside down showa fork in the front or something.
Many people are still riding around on their old sport tourers like the VFR 800 and is searching for something new to replace them, only to find bikes like the Ninja 1000 SX with a riding position like an MT-07, just not cutting it
Until something good comes out I am thinking of buying the Sprint ST and tuning it buy adding a big open air filter and a full system all the way without the catalytic converter and map the bike to get as much power as possible and make it lighter. These bikes are really cheap on the used market. You get a lot of bike for like 3000 euro with bags and everything
We have -4F here in Sweden in February if you want to trade weather man

yeah it’s overall a great bike but i agree suspension isn’t the greatest and brakes could be improved but it’s a very nice machine.

Brakes are decent for the street, but why Triumph put an old fork like that and not upside down forks like all the competition had while the Sprint was being built and even before it was created I can not understand.
Would be really cool if Triumph made a new Sprint ST 1200 with the new Speed triple engine and made it somewhat lighter with Showa upside down forks, Brembos and they kept this awesome semi-aggressive riding position and not pu$sy out and make the riding position straight up like the Ninja 1000SX or new Suzuki GSX-S1000GT, those suck.
These bikes in Sweden go for around 3000-4000 euros depending on mileage and accessories, I am thinking of buying one next year for some sporty touring and then maybe 2025-2026 I buy my dream bike the H2 SX.

@skylinesquid How do you upgrade the front suspension ? Seems like a lot of work, you swap out the whole thing to another brand or ?

pulls very nice the 1050 really shines over 100

had the 750 and great all rounder but the 1050 is in a different league mate, smoothness of a inline 4 with the power of a twin, lovely and sounds the nuts too! 30bhp more than the 750 and 25nm more torque

@@markariewilliams You forgot to mention, also almost 30kg heavier. That is a lot of weight, but still the 1050 engine is great. I just wish this Sprint bike was a bit lighter and had a bit more power. I am praying to the motorcycle gods that Triumph builds a new Sprint ST with the new Speed triple 1200 engine. Imagine a Sprint ST 1200 with 175 horsepower and max 230 kg weight fully fueled
But the Sprint 1050 will suffice in the meantime, you wont get a better sport touring motorcycle for around 3000€/$ At least I can not think of any other Sport touring bike for that price that is better, both in performance and looks.
