I absolutely think this is one of Anacani's BEST performances! No arguement. I had this WHOLE show on VHS, but it got ruined ): (yes, I'm a 16-year old Welk fan, and proud!)
She sings so beautifully with this song that I loved the first time I heard that she breaks my heart. Thank You for all that you have shared with your fans over the decades. You are completely beautiful, bless you.
She went on to become very popular in Mexico, even a talk show host, and plays a guitar very well. Her parents divorced early which demanded the kids go to work . She chose to sing and overnight became popular, at which time Lawrence Welk discovered her. She got her education in the states after spending her first 1.5 years in Mexico, then returned to Mexico after Welk's show halted, and blossomed there, married a man she highly adores and respects for his goodness, and has one daughter who speaks four languages: Spanish, English, Italian (after some schooling there), and French.
Yeh well!... I'm sick to death of this fucking spic song. I hate the way it sounds over and over again. This obnoxious song went from eres tu to eres poo!
I used to sing this to my dad, back in the 70's. Sweet memories of a time long ago. (Cantaba esto a mi padre adorado, en mi infancia. Que dulce memorias de un tiempo pasajero).
welk found her working in his restaurant as a temp waitress and heard her singing as she worked she could not even speak english he offered her a spot on his show and the rest is history
Anacani's online bios all say she was born in Sinaloa, Mexico to Mexican & French parents. In any case, this performance (which I still remember from live TV when I was pretty young) to me rates at least as good as Mocedades, although I prefer Mocedades band. But this song is about the vocals, not the band.
1. Oh; that song from "Tommy Boy." 2. Anacani is actually half-Italian, half-Turkish. But she looks Mexican enough. & she did have a B- in Advanced Spanish. & w/ a Hispanic performer & a black tap dancer, "The Lawrence Welk Show" is "diverse" enough; no need for some Oriental guy. Besides, some viewers still got shell shock after fighting in whichever war in the Orient it was.
when I was in the navy back in late 60s we were in Mexico there was a show we watched with the girl and the donkey this lady here could pass for her double. 🐴
Stunning performance by a stunning woman! Beautiful voice and beautiful woman!

OMG! I've been under a rock! Just heard this song for the first time 4 months ago.

Loved Anacani and well remember hearing this song for the first time on the Lawrence Welk show.
Welk was very smart to bring her into the show to bring in the Spanish speaking audience.
MY dad loves this song and I used to sing it in the car when we go to Tijuana. ;) A beautiful song.
Yeh well!... I'm sick to death of this fucking spic song. I hate the way it sounds over and over again. This obnoxious song went from eres tu to eres poo!

Era tu cancioneiro mu linda
Quien hizo famosa esta canción Anacani o Mocedades?
😂😂😂
i always thought she was talking about STEW......
It is really a shame she didn't do much in the way of recorded music, tapes, LPs, CDs of her own.
