- Toronto Blue Jays news has recently featured a headline that most Blue Jay fans didn't want to see; Vladdy and Bo could get traded. Definitely not the news Toronto Blue Jays fans were looking for when we aren't even halfway through the MLB season. This info is coming right after Ross Atkins held a press conference saying that he fully believes in the talent on this team and believes that we need to stay patient. Could Vladdy and Bo actually get traded by the Toronto Blue Jays and if so should Ross Atkins be the one to do it?

Fire Atkins. Fire Shapiro. Letting out that Vlad and Bo being traded has to screw with what little morale the team has. The management is pathetic. If Atkins is in charge of the trades we will lose, big time.
If the team truly does want to retool/rebuild, then I agree someone else needs to be at the helm

Atkins and Shapiro didn't let that information out. The NL executive they made the fleece offer to leaked that information, and asked to remain anonymous. My guess is it was the Dodgers, who had solicited offers for Bo during the offseason. This would've been a ridiculous counteroffer to see if the other team would do an insane overpay.
That NL executive should've kept their mouth shut.
That's great who would you hire to Shapiro job? And coming out saying that they might trade well I guess you are the only one that didn't think that. After not signing them the last few summers I can't see both staying.

Shapiro needs to go. He's the guy that's left Atkins in that position for far too long. If they are a tandem then they both go.

@kidkappa04 well we knew last time with Paul leaving, before Paul knew. But to run this team you need a business and baseball person and there are not alot of people that can do this. So we would know if the president was leaving. And the golden boy AA had that team already made, but AA has taken there farm system from one of the best to one of the worst ( I think they are 28 out of 30) When AA was here his drafting was week , two first rounds didn't sign. And he is signed to 31 I think.

Your surprised by Ross's actions. Like he is going to tell the media everything he is up to. GM's jobs are to know what other teams would offer in a trade. That saying, Ross definitely needs to go. The team has been regressing not improving.
I can tell that you put a lot of effort into this video. I don't mind these trades being made, but I don't want Atkins making those trades.

ok all i know is bo and Vlad are human and so i think what is going on is that they are fed up with this management group and to be honest i think that all the players that have bean around for a while just do not trust them and this really would effect them , i mean i get it they get paid great money to play, but at the end of the day they are human and they have limits of bullshit that they can take just like us having good times and bad in our lives, to be honest this management team has bean a shit show more than the players on the jays ,
The only thing Bo & Vlad have shown is 1-2 yrs of action and riding the “Great prospects “ wave. They have yet to show the professionalism required to drive or carry the team!
When a team isn't doing well other teams are going to reach out and see if they can get a trade done. It happens all the time in all sports. Making crazy trade requests is the way to say we don't want to make a trade. Masai did it all the time for the Raptors before they finally blew it up, asked for way more than he knew he would realistically get.
I believe this and can't believe it hasn't been talked about. Shapiro and Atkins are good friends outside of baseball operations. When Rogers chose Shapiro to be the president of Blue Jays, he took Atkins who was the GM of Guardians. Shapiro doesn't have the balls to fire his friend unless Rogers tells him to do it. Shapiro's contract is coming to an end soon, 1 or 2 years left. If Rogers choses not to renewal then both will go.

The Blue Jays front office has been fishing for fleece opportunities. With the asks being ridiculous, the front office obviously isn't serious about moving Vlad or Bo right now.
I haven't seen a single actual report that the Jays have instigated any of these discussions. Being in talks and shopping the players actively are very different.
Oh I have no doubt they trade 1 of the 2 by July. Probably Vlad. That's a daring move and knowing how dense Atkins is he will probably trade him for peanuts. And this will come back to haunt the jays brutally. Once Vlad gets moved to a real team he will mash again I bet.

Atkins could get lured into acquitting a good "analytics projection" prospect in a trade. You're right, can't trust Atkins trading either BO or Vlad.

I would expect Ross Atkins to be looking at options for trading. We are below 0.500, there are a lot of teams we would need to beat for a wildcard spot.
It might be too early but I think a video talking about trade options would be interesting. I think Vladdy or Kikuchi are the best trade peices that the Jays have right now. Every team needs healthy, Cy Young calibre starter and lots of teams would be looking to upgrade at 1B.
I can see Vladdy being traded to Minnesota Twins at this point.
When two guys from Ohio came to run our Franchise after AA I lost my fandome. I became a Yankee fan 3 seasons ago. I don't regret it.
Vlad is immature and not coachable. At this point he projecys to hit 13.5 HR's. That is totally weak for a 1b-man. Overrated, won't work on a better launch angle and STILL plays like a entitled hot dog. He does have talent, but his 10 cent head holds him back. On defense... terrible footwork, lack of focus and generally careless.

I think they should listen to any offers. I don't think it will happen. Ross is right, that its early. It's been a bad start, but it is still early. Trade deadline, to see where they are in the standings is a better idea of if they will be sellers, not the month of May.

In fairness, when is a GM ever not listening to offers on players? In the contractor world it’s calls “go away pricing”. “Yeah, you can have them for xyz”. I think it’s important not to read too far into this. I’m sure these conversations happen constantly even when teams have no intention of selling. The jays are just a target right now bc of the terrible performances to date
With Bo, Vlady, Springer, Jansen you should produce enough runs, got better defense should have worked out. Now you have Bo, Vlad, Springer sucking at the plate, Jansen injured for most of the 40 games. Varsho worth the trade/ money this year. The problem is John Schneider

Not a fan of Atkins but paper this team should be a much better team than it is. It is only logical the blue jays would to know the market price for their players. GMs should always be collecting that data.
I am not ruling it out. At this point in time, everyone is crap except for the young rookies and Jansen. Question though: Is Vlad really the first deal we should make. I think The only way to make Vlad and Bichette to get moving without tearing apart the whole team is to bring in BIG gun and let them know there is someone to take there spot. If they play well, great. If not, they are gone, and you still have someone to build around. Just my opinion.
Shopping someone for BIG money when you wont pay them that is hilarious and a terrible way to sell anything.

My support for this team is already eroding, due to the crap dished out by management. John Schneider said yesterday that the players decided to bring the homerun jacket back, when we all know it was management or his decision because is took focus away from the discipline of baseball. What a crock. Get rid of Schneider, Atkins and Shapiro. I'm not opposed to trading Vlad, but keep Bo, he has more potential. Keep Cavan. He should be playing every day.
If those two are traded Atkins should NOT be the one to make it.
Bo and Vladdy, though not performing as expected, should be kept. If you can find that serious hitter and they come around all would be different. This is what should have happened in the off season. Atkins is not the man for the job
The Dominican crew a few years ago was a distraction. Too much playing around. Vlady is still in that sandbox, even hitting a buck 99.
All of the hitting coaches and analytics should be let go. Many players expecting one pitch that never arrives.

After being recommended by Chaim Bloom, who worked with James Click at Baseball Prospectus, Click joined the Tampa Bay Rays as an intern in 2005, and the team hired him for their front office in 2006. He was promoted to vice president of baseball operations in 2017.
In January 2020, the Houston Astros hired Click as their general manager. In 2022, the Astros won 106 games, the second-highest total in franchise history. They advanced to the World Series and defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in six games to give Click his first career World Series championship. After his contract expired after the 2022 season, Click rejected a one-year contract offer from the Astros and the team announced that they would move on without Click.
On February 27, 2023, the Toronto Blue Jays hired James Click as vice president.

I believe in the Jay’s team. I don’t believe in Ross Atkins or Shapiro. They both need to be replaced.
Ross Atkins might be a problem but to be completely honest, Mark Shapiro might be a bigger problem.
Right as he leaves Cleveland, they go to nearly winning game 7 of the World Series. One of the first things he does is hire this absolute fraud of a GM in Atkins. In the blink of an eye, these teams that were WS contenders in 15-16 it all gets torn down in the blink of an eye. Since we’ve been back to playoffs, ZERO playoff wins and the team is getting worse and worse every year one way or another.
Whether if it was firing montoyo, trading moreno, or whatever other horrendous trades/signings that has happened with this team, Atkins and Shapiro continue to neglect this team and their fans. While Atkins is on the helm with transactions, Mark Shapiro is above him and has done NOTHING to stop this absolute anarchy.

Shapiro and Atkins have been a total embarrassment and a disappointment since they were hired by Rogers. They need to be fired. Atkins manager hirings and player selections have been very disappointing. Shapiro has preached prospects and a strong farm system but Jays are one of the weakest in the league. Shapiro has made it very expensive to go watch a ball game at Rogers Stadium. Very sad times for Jay fans of all ages.
Unlikely Rogers dumps Atkins and/or Shapiro until the season is done.

First, fire Atkins and Shapiro. Second, hire a new management team. Third, they should trade Bichette, Gausman, Berrios, Springer, Guerrero and more. Complete rebuild (like the Orioles did). A complete rebuild with high ceiling young guys would be exciting. Instead, we are stuck with the worst management team in baseball who will probably trade away the piddly future assets they have to acquire useless ball players who won't even take them to a wild card spot.
The Orioles tanked for 5+ years, were as much as 61 games out of first, and scored how many top draft picks? Now MLB changed the system to go with a draft lottery, so no one can repeat what the Orioles did.
Vlads not a good fit in toronto.....love to see vlad to to a southern national league team....mvp vlad could be back....but everyone knows.....glad and bo are a packaged deal...
