YES AC CAN WORK..... GET PROPER SIZE GAUGE WIRE AND AT LEAST A 5000 WATT GENERATOR get male plug for generator then look inside your junction box, ask electrician as that wire can be installed into the junction box ONCE ALL Breakers ARE OFF, INCLUDING THE MAIN THEN YOU CAN POWER YOUR AC

For 95% of people electricity is essential. I've seen what happens when there have been extended power outages. People go crazy.
@Paul-uw7us exactly. The people can't live without it. However, most that do not rely on electronics will do just fine. I know medically it is essential, but really nothing else. Honestly, think about it
No running water, no working toilet because water companies will go down as well. No hospitals, police, firefighters or ambulance. People will be stuck in elevators. No medication for people with chronic diseases. After fridges don't work there will be tons of rotting food which will attract critters. Sewages might get blocked.
So let's hope that a major power outage won't happen.
