Lol Mike Bastian sounds like he doesn’t know a damn thing about fashion, he keeps contradicting himself.... Mark Cho is a freaking genius I wish he had spoke more during this discussion

I respect those guys, but the fact they’re in the business do not necesseraly make them the best panel to interview on that topic. Having sociologists who dare to talk about social class relationship and its impact on style (like Boyer does) would help to bring a more serious perspective, I think.
I had fun listening to it although it is not was not the most interesting conversation I’ve listened to so far.

It is extraordinary how folk latch on to these experts. The key is to understand fabric and have the chutzpah to be an individual. In the main these discussions are so elitist and eurocentric missing the eccentricity. Black tie implies formal but an African or an Asian can go with formal native attire.Nothing beats a true understanding of fabric and how they perform before we get to how they are made.Style takes effort, fashion takes a herd mentally.

Misleading title, they seem to forget they were talking to an audience to instruct them on a specific topic, and they think they are bonding on a dinner party or something. I'm glad I didn't pay a ticket to see this. Museums more than anywhere else should be more careful not to waste people's time at the pretext of adding something of value

These are the modern American upper-middle class "talkers," that fill all the useless, self-indulgent, faux intellectual positions in our mediocre, inane modern society. All they do is talk and write inane nonsense. They are mediocre in every way, and creatures of the modern system in every way. These are men for whom education has made them both stupid and arrogant. They know nothing but think they know everything. They are bugmen with small souls, skittering around in their hives, consuming and pontificating and never creating anything worthwhile. They say many words with very little content.
These are three journalists: of course they have nothing interesting to say, because the only things they say are what their masters tell them to say. Knowingly or not, they are mouthpieces for the interests of bankers and corporate executives, nothing more. They are stooges and toadies who think that being stooges and toadies makes them important.

I could stay watching for another hour. Shirley Temple came to mind when that young dude decried the 1930s-40s for its lack of stars under 30. Goodness me.
But that red jacket, denim shirt with dark tie and light tan trouser combo was so goddamn awful.
    Christian Bale has style.
