- Its been a long wait but at last I have made a start on the new depot. this depot will look after all diesel locomotives on the layout. this video is about the ground work using the wills granite sets, and also the building of the new diesel storage tanks, and maybe a hint of things to come..............

Coffee stirrers again! Certainly made it easier to install the cobble stones, looks great as does your enhanced oil tanks, making a really nice scene, yep am catching up! Stephen
Hello again. the stirring sticks helped to lift the cobbles to the correct. i will be using cobbles again for the front of the station at some point. ........slowly catching up mate.......cheer's Tony
Brilliant work Tony. Don't forget the deer fence. ha ha ha,
Good Morning Duncan, very funny. lol. thank you for commenting. take care Tony
Morning Tony. Hope its not been to cold in the loft. Just went out to my shed and the freezing weather has ruined my UHU glue, its all turned a sticky white mess.
Wish mine was indoors like yours. You made a great job of the diesel tanks, look very real. I always say those little details make all the difference. I will do another video when it warms up, Have a good day.
Roasty Toasty at times...cheer's Tony
Some good ideas on how to recycle things.I like the way you are doing the depot. The 'kit' looks good.Great video Tony.

I'm glad to be of service. all the best Tony............
Nice use of lolly sticks ! Cobbles look effective !
Cheer's Ray you can use anything for packing. they just happen to be 2mm thick. thanks again. regards Tony
Looks fantastic Tony, It's nice to see how you change kits around to suit your space, Makes it more unique too. Cheers, Michael
thank you Michael that's the thing try and make the kit just that little different. take care many thanks Tony
Hi Tony another great job it looks the part with all the extras you've added super job Tony. Cheers George
hell o George Thanks for commenting. never throw anything bits away that's my motto. those extras are bits of kits left over from the gasometer and flashing from the moulds.....thanks again....Tony
nice start tony.looks like a good old diesel depot. remember in your period there was no set pattern for the NEW diesels so they was maintained in old steam sheds normally with steam locos only separated with a basic wall or a sheet. hope this helps.
Cheer's Paul great tips. thanks for commenting......regards Tony
Oi, those are my granite setts! Lol. Justin really does produce some great kits and with your additional detailing it's come out really well. Nice work Tony. Paul
cheer's Paul its always worth adding the little details. just to make it your own...there's plenty of granite sets left I think I have enough now......so he says...lol...regards Tony
2:58 Thanks goodness you are buying your lollypop sticks on ebay - I thought you had a serious 'Fab' and 'Mivi' problem there. Or possibly a magnum too far problem (of course a couple of others got suspicious, should have read the comments first!).
17:10 My Great Aunt - who lived in the middle of nowhere - used to have a smaller version for her heating oil. I guess an Aga heating system takes less fuel than a full sized diesel engine though. The man who cut her grass used it to power his lawn mower too.
Very nice kit, great extra details.
Hi Chazzy. i do like my lolly pops. i would have to eat hundreds for what i needed. lol. it was easy kit to build, that was a while back.......cheer's Tony
Absolutely superb Tony, wow really looks the part, and the extra touches just exceed the kit..
a cracking job mate.. 👍
Garry
cheer's mate. I'm a bit like yourself making bits and pieces out of anything just to get that last detail....thanks again buddy take care..........Tony
You must eat a lot of lollies and drink gallons of coffee Tony but great detail and a good how to vid cheers Tony.
its funny you should that Tony. I was buying a box of lollipops a week. until Fred of the Wilbury line said you can buy them. I have found out since then you can get them in the pound shop....coffee hmm well you know where I get those from..lol.....Take care cheer's Tony
Like the oil storage tanks and cobbles , going to be a good depot ........Peter
Thank you Peter I think they go well together like coffee and Hobnobs ...........cheer's Tony
How about putting some gravel in the bottom? add some black wash for weathering and dirt. Great model though
Thank you Phil for commenting i will take that idea on board...all the best Tony
Good project Tony ..
Cheer's Dave its took some time to get round to doing it. but I have made a start.....thanks again buddy Tony
Now Tony, you didnt buy all them sticks did you lol, sure i saw a "fab" lolly stick in there. Nice kit and i like the additions you made. Surprising how far along you are with the whole layout, it doesnt seem that long ago that i started watching your channel and its progressed quite a bit.
Yes my secret is out I love FAB ice lolly's until I found you could buy them in bulk a lot cheaper. miss those lollies though. thanks again Tony
Like those cobble stones look realistic, may need a grime touch up.Richard
Cheer's Richard have you seen the MPD video I did about a year or so ago. as I used the same method then and it worked out really well. I used a very light grey then weathered the stones with humbrol green and black wash which gives them its gritty look....thank for commenting cheer's Tony
Hi Tony
Looking good so far keep up the good work
Cheers Beeton hough junction (Dave C)
Thank you Dave well due to the weather looks like I will have more time on my hands. cheers Tony
TONY NORTH EASTERN no problem, yea I don't know what the snow is like for you at the minute but it has started to snow again for me but unfortunately I can't do anything other than build Metcalfe kits due to the layout still in the garage but I will be doing a video shortly so keep an eye out for it cheers Beeton Hough Junction (Dave C)
Hi Dave the snow is about 3 inches at the moment. but its about freezing. and its turning to slush....haven't been in the loft today...all the best Tony
TONY NORTH EASTERN funny how the country comes to a complete stand still and people rush to the shops from bit of snow lol should get a portable heater bit juicy on electric keeps the cold off cheers Beeton Hough Junction (Dave C)
To True there is no need for the panic buying, not these days....Take care if your out and about...Tony
hi tony
top top job here they is some great tips here i did learn some some stuff here to.
i bet your layout looks wonderful
keep safe arp
Good morning ADi thanks for commenting. the lay looks good only in some area's. the surrounding area at the moment is a tip tools and bits and pieces everywhere. that's what we are here for learn from each other. especially with your library of loco videos........all the best Tony
Happy New Year, Tony.
Happy new year! Peter. all the best for 2021...Tony
Cracking kit
Cracking video again tony
Cheer's mate...............Tony
brilliant job Tony! would the stirrers do for the groundwork as well or are the lollipop sticks thicker?...they look great for capping stones anyway..which metcalfe stone is it?..is there a reference number?...im looking for something like that..and wow what a fantastic job on those tanks!!!!! your patience and skill never cease to amaze me ! all the best dave
Thank you Dave the Metcalfe stone is code MOO58 or 50 as they is 2 types the old number is M0050. the coffee stirrers may be to thin depending on the height of the sleepers. code 100 or code 75 I think are at different heights. I just use lollipop sticks because they are cheap. £1 for 150 in the pound shop.. what ever you use as long as you are at the same height as the top of the sleepers you could use anything........ thanks again Tony
cheers Tony..£1 for 150 good grief !! bargain of the year
