I'm in my 50s but I can still remember how I felt when these albums came out. What a great time to be alive, just out of High School, we thought life was gonna be one big summer vacation, lol. We had the best bands, the best music to cruise to, still feels so good to hear these songs played cranked up

When I was young my dad decided to leave the family. When he left he left behind his albums. The first one I listened to was WWL. After I listened to the whole album I did not care that my dad left because I had the Scorpions!!

I tease my wife as I tell her this is her most listened to album EVER!!! I used to have it on loop on cassette ALL NITE when we were dating. I do catch her singing to Holiday and Still Loving You every time they're playing!
I had to chuckle at my 16 year old son when he asked me to hear "Coming Home". I sent him the studio album version a few times and he kept on saying "that's not the song,,, that's a ballad!" as he was used to the World Wide Live version where they jump right into rockin' it!! He felt sheepish after I made him listen further than he had!😂🤣

Grew up listening to World Wide Live.One of my favorites they were back in my mid teens.
I grew up with this live record. When you said world wide live. People knew what you were talking about. The way this record sounds. It's the way you hear the band live.
Another great video about maybe the best Rock live album of all time.Love the Scorpions. They deserve to be in the Rock and Roll hall of fame.

Scorpions love at first sting was my first concert. Changed my life forever, I joined a band went on the road played with a few famous people opened up for a couple big bands. Ended up playing in a band with the bass player from Helix who was the opening band for the Scorpions that night in Toronto my last show with that band was in Toronto. Strange small world !

I must say Dynamite my is my favorite live scorpion song!!! Saw them at Arrowhead in 88 in K C. Monster of Rock and in 2002 in Dayton , Ohio!! They kicked Ass both shows!! 1 of those bands you just want to take a road trip maybe just 3 or 4 different shows I Loved that album!!!

I wish i was born back in Scorpions' best days and communism wouldn't have existed so they could come to Romania too. Scorpions made the best music the world could or will ever make. They achieved the impossible by creating such godlike music.

An amazing live album...still to this day.
The band & album of my formative years. The guys look old now, then I look in the mirror, and I look older !! I've just spent the last lockdown weeks learing the lead various songs, when you look at "no one like you", its such an efficient lead. Stil one of my best bands - only moan is I spent a fortune going to the "Last ever" Scorpions concert in Munich in 2012 to see of my favourite band, and ............. they're stil going. but not in the UK. I'm lucky with my work that I've been able to see the scorps around the world, UK, Germany, Las Vegas, California & France.
They killed it at US '83 and the Forum back then. some of the best performances I've ever seen.

I agree, the album is pure magic! I disagree however with Herman at the end when he says, “it encompasses everything we did.“ It did not encompass EVERYTHING, as it did not include anything pre-Lovedrive
You're right, its odd Herman would say that. Tokyo Tapes was a great live album too. At 9:42 Herman does mention World Wide LIve is "the best statement of what the band sounded like in the 80s". Pre-Lovedrive would be in the 70s. Perhaps that's the context he was going for when he said "everything".

Bryan Mannoia I love Uli as well! In many ways that era is superior… Especially with his guitars. However, I am torn on whether I would’ve liked him to stay around or not? On one hand, it would’ve been great to see them evolve with him..I am a HUGE Uli fan! But as a long-time Scorpions fan, I like the fact that their music doesn’t sound exactly the same throughout their career and they experimented with different styles, etc. That way, in the future, I will have a lot to choose from, and a variety of different types of Scorpions to listen to. There are many bands that stayed the same, and it gets boring, Scorpions are very versatile even though they get criticized for producing stuff that doesn’t necessarily “rock“ like in the early days
this is amazing album, I listened to it too many times when I was a kid, but.. back then as well as today, though, I really hated the sound of drums. snare without attack, just making this "pshh" sound and those dull hollow toms, man.. there are some other records on youtube from the garden with proper drum sound, dynamite for example, jee, that's whole different level of power and overall impression is even better
Yeah... production is way too tinny. I mean, it's an all-time classic album, but it's difficult to listen to nowadays.
