  • Hey there everyone and welcome to this review of the new Toyota Yaris Cross.
    So it has happened, Toyota have finally joined the small family crossover segment with the Yaris Cross.
    They might be a little late to the game but we have seen Toyotas success with the latest Yaris hatch and GR Yaris. The Japanese brand are certainly on a roll.
    Using their established and latest Self-Charging Hybrid technology, the new Yaris Cross is a frugal little crossover.
    But is it any good?
    Keep watching to find out!

    We’ve had our excel for about a month now. Our fuel is about 66mpg. The engine sound is quieter than the demonstration model we test drove. Replacing a twenty year old Renault Megane. Very easy to get in and out. Great visibility. Super easy to drive. Plenty of power when needed. Not disappointed at all. I would highly recommend this car. Thanks for your review.

    One correction, that’s the older 8” Touch 2 infotainment system, not the latest 9” Smart Connect system. When you add the City Pack it adds the 360 degree camera but downgrades the screen. With Touch 2 you also lose wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

    Great review and video. You haven't touched on driver's support systems which are very impressive. Dynamic cruise control, lane centre assist, etc. I'm still waiting on my Yaris Cross Excel, but I do own 22-plate Yaris hatch which I use for commuting to work - 60 miles both ways. I couldn't wish for more frugal car. I'm getting 480 miles range per about 29 litres of petrol. That's 75 miles/gallon. I absolutely love this car and I'm sure I will love YC even more 🙂

      So how are you finding it? Comfort (suspension damping over potholes), engine/transmission noise (roar), wind noise? What is the colour of the headlining? In this video the headlining is light. I have been advised by a main dealer that they are now only available in black/dark grey; that makes for a terribly gloomy interior.

    The B function is not for charging the battery, its actually for when your going down slopes. Youll wear down your CVT and Engine is you overuse it in normal circumstances. Charging haooens when breaking, as long as its no on the end of the "charge" gauge, it eont use its breaks.

    Great video, but I'll no longer watch ones whereby the CZcamsr reviews the higher spec. In reality, most will go for the Design, but 90% on CZcams seem to always have the top spec with added packs. Just tired of seeing a car model , with features you'll most likely never have. I do really like the way this guy presents the video, though, so all the best for the future.

      Thank you so much for your comment.
      Afraid I have no say in which trim level I get from the manufacturer, which is why I put my recommendations forward. Sometimes I am fortunate to get a base or mid spec car (Kia EV6) which does help buyers make that final choice. Hope you still enjoy the channel.
      Thank you.

    • @Yeah-Buddy-Lightweight
      @Yeah-Buddy-Lightweight Před 8 měsíci

      @AutoBears True that the manufacturers only want to show off the top spec. It's why my nearest Toyota only displayed the GR version of this car and the same type of spec for the Corolla. Even the Toyota sales guy said last month that he doesn't understand why Toyota doesn't just put a mid spec on display, as it will be more honest with what the customer can afford. Great channel and reviews still. On second thought and as you say, you had no say which model they provided, so I shouldn't allow that to stop me from watching. My dissatisfaction should be aimed at Toyota or whoever supplies the car, not at your channel. I highly recommend viewers stay tuned with this channel. Great content and the presentation are equally the same.

    Agree with everything in your review. Car was on my shortlist, had no real expectations as the showroom model looked overly plasticy, I didn't like interior aethetics and it's and button layout is an ergonomic nighmare, but after a test drive, found it to be a better all-rounder. Car is only ever going to be used around town so not bothered about acceleration etc - around the city it proved more than capable. Ended up ordering one albeit in Silver which you didn't like. Boring yes, but the other colours available in UK at the moment are horrible IMO.
