  • Royal Enfield Concept KX new Cruiser is the latest bike we are hoping to see soon, but will it be a new 650 Bobber or will it feature that all new 838 V twin that got everybody hot under the collar at Eicma in 2018. Anyway weather it turns up as a new 2022 Royal Enfield 650 Meteor or something else its sure to be a winner! #ConceptKX

    RE should definitely put into production, and should keep it as close to the concept design as possible. I’ve never had a cruiser type bike, but this very attractive bike could persuade otherwise. Well done RE 👍

    A astonishing concept. Especially the forc with the integrated head lamp. A light 838 is better than a heavy fat 1200 cc. This could be a successful classic bike

    An 838 could go head to head with the Sportster and Open some major market segments in the states. The concept with the full frame and 30s styled tank looks amazing

  • @turboslag
    @turboslag Před 2 lety +9

    When I saw this concept in 2018 I was blown away, especially with the front end, being a Vincent owner that is right up my street!
    I'd buy one immediately if it follows the concept closely and it must have the larger capacity motor, torque is the thing with this type of machine and a 650 just wouldn't cut it. It's the reason I've held off from buying the Enfield twin, as an experienced rider I just want more power. If the twin made say 75 bhp, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. I understand why they positioned the twin where it is in the market, but they need a more powerful halo model now. I already have an Enfield, the classic 500 Pegasus edition and I love it, very impressed with the build quality and overall engineering, so looking forward to new temptations from the brand!

    Definitely go with the 838 engine. Forget the chain and go with a belt. Rear rack in the rear fender and saddlebags. The exhaust pipes needs something better looking. The front forks should be springer/leading link. Rubber knee pads on gas tank. Price it under $10,000 U.S. and it will sell like hot cakes! Three years. Warranty would be enticing.Oh yeah, keep your Dealers from over upcharging over MSRP! I’d seriously consider getting one.

    What a beautiful bike this is. I really hope they do the 838 in production. The thing with RE however is that they do things to a lower price point as most of the customers are india. So i suspect it will be based on 650 platform for manufacturing efficiencies (it is also why when they start a new model they don't change it much for years). I am sure they will eventually move upmarket but the question is when is the appropriate time to do that ie when can they sell in enough quantity to make it profitable within an acceptable business timeframe ? As for Triumph vs RE ? I guess we need to wait and see when it eventually comes out and we can ride and do the assessment of price vs performance/looks. When it comes to bikes that assessment is always going to be an individual one and that decision is often more made from emotion (branding/what does the bike say about me and what do i think is my place in the world) than from more logical assessments. Most people with lots of money would probably buy the triumph. Others who have limited resources and need to buy other things would probably go for the royal enfield and enjoy it just as much as the guys riding the triumph. Both views are justifiable i guess. BTW I dont agree with various comments below that bigger is better. It depends on what size u can handle and what u want from a bike. But i do think the 838 V motor looks better than the 650 twin motor and i would prefer the 838 (not sure i would want any bike significantly bigger than this but that is just me). (this has piqued my interest - i must get a copy of Eichers financial statements and see if they disclose segment profitability for RE). Wishing you all good riding.

    Beautiful bike period. I vote for the 838. Harley is really missing the boat by not producing a 750 cc - 1000 cc truely nostalgic motorcycle. A rubber mounted post 2004 sportster engine in a post war rigid design with monoshock would be a hit. You don't need 1500 cc to cruise.

  • @thomasheer825
    @thomasheer825 Před 2 lety +3

    That V twin is an excellent addition to the lineup would give the company a larger bike base to work with. Say a U.S. model to go head to head with Harley on the touring/cruiser class bikes with something that at present Harley cannot comprehend, affordable price out the door. Then there would be that superlative reliability that Enfield has established on their newer designed bikes. One guy told me that destroying an new Enfield is like TRYING to blow up a Chrysler slant 6, you have to be very creative to even do light damage.
