Thanks for watching!
The L3B 2.7 turbomax was designed for a truck application! It may be a 4 banger but its equipped with a borg warner turbo capable of 27 psi of boost, cast iron cylinder liners, a larger stroke than the 6.6 duramax, a cam system very similar to honda's vtec, an electric water pump and oil pump capable of varying outputs based on load, and even runs on 87 octane. Although small, this engine has proven to be pretty reliable and has a 100k powertrain warranty. I wish it didn't get so much hate as its quite the engineering feat.
60K warranty
@@constitutionallyconscious165 mine has a 100k warranty
where is this location? it's perfect for offroading
The sight of the Lexus just casually pulling up like it’s on pavement 😂
When critiquing the Canyon's suspension, the truck looked pretty composed going through rough terrain at 60 and even 70 mph. You also said you left the other guys in the dust. That would imply the other truck's suspension was nowhere near as capable? Why was there not more commentary on the Canyon's capabilities compared to the other trucks?
Never a bad time to watch TheTopher. I make a point to watch one a day, best reviewer out there. (Hell of a driver too)
Following the trend, putting a 4 banger in a heavy vehicle. Im mean, yeah, it can have enough power, but I can only imagine that engine being stressed the crap out of it.
Anyways great video, nice seeing this kind of vehicle offroad (where it's supposed to be)
nope. It has more than enough power for the size/weight of the vehicle. If it sounded like a V6 or V8 you wouldnt be able to tell the difference, other than turbo lag.
Exactly my thoughts. The sound of that poor motor in the newer 4 runners he just posted was crazy. Sounded like the motor was being strangled to death.
Blame the government. Or we’re never getting our good old reliable engines back.
The life of those engines is the question. I’m gonna say less than we have been accustomed to
@@pulsewound2677GM does have 100K miles warranty on this new powertrain, I think. Plus, the people who buy these expensive off-road trucks don’t keep the vehicles for that long anyways. Most trade in for another vehicle after 2-3 years. These are toys…I don’t think the original buyer cares about longevity that much.
I am a Big Fan of American Trucks for Life!🚙🇺🇸
What an awesome mighty truck to drive. I have always craved for one of these.
Nice review! 🔥🔥
Such a nice platform! I have a 2024 trailboss and love it so far :) interested to hear your thoughts comparing this to a zr2?
Yeah I want to get my 24 trail boss in that sand!
Living the dream!
Bro pls review on Toyota Hilux 2024
I watched the GX off road video first through the off road fast stuff in just how it handled everything it shocked me that it did better than the canyon your voice was way less jittery in the cabin wasn’t shaking as much in you went faster in the Gx Lol this might sound crazy but far as comfort off road in just how American roads are maintained the GX is up there with Raptor on the level of plush In up most comfortable ride great review by the way
In the next version of this truck they should get rid of the white interior, bring back physical headlight controls, improve the payload (you can't configure the bison for overlanding because of the poor payload), have a rear swing arm like in the hummvee for the tire so you have full use of your bed, have an electronic mirror, bigger and more high resolution cameras.
Nice. I would buy the edition 1 with the front bar and bed racks in volcanic red
What's on the other side of this dune - FUN is on the other side of course!
Damn, not bad for the same price as a Tacoma SR5
That’s crazy
Not sure if your US or not, but I see them for about $20k+ over the Sr5 for this aev edition he’s driving…
I still dont understand why chevy did not tune the 2.7L this way for the camaro they put it in.
Cool interior!
I think you should have been in front of Charlie for this one. You wear crossing then he slowed you down 😂
Best looking exterior for a truck in its class. I just hate the plastics on interior and hate the engine. GM has never made a good 4 cylinder.
Does the AEV modification cause the suspension to become stiffer?
Looks like fun!! 😅
nice truck
Looks like a Ram with Toyota interior
I weighed this truck AT4X against the GX. I figured I'd save 20K and "settle" for this. I punctured a tire day 1 and put 4k miles on it in 1 month. I dont like the mpg very much. I get 11-13 mpg on the way to work and 20ish on the way home and burn a full tank of gas every day, i cut it close yesterday. I wish it had more range with 1 tank. Im averageing about 240 with 18gal daily. Also, I can't manspread in the tight cabin, and the back seat is very tight for a car seat. Overall, I really enjoy the truck.
Only a European could love that engine note
Tf does this have to do with europeans lol. Just cause eu emissions are strict doesn’t mean we love the 4 bangers’ characteristics.
It’s basically a truck with enough power and capability, but no theatrics and a terribly melodramatic pumped-in engine noise. Nothing beats NA engine sound, next up is supercharged but i wouldn’t want one personally.
If I had a money tree I would definitely buy one of these. But I don't. So I will stick to my $10k 20 year old cars. 😂
Big truck, small engine.
