Can't agree with you more I grew going to races at Daytona every year since I was 6 in 1994 because I live 20 mins from there. The #4 Kodak car driven by Sterling Marlin was the first one to have something in the engine or pipes to make it sound the way it did. I saw a video about it on CZcams the other day , that #4 car that year was definitely ahead of it time

Sterling Marlin's race team Morgan-McLure Motorsports came up with the X-pipe and Boom Tubes combination with the help of Dr. Gas exhaust. You would hear that sound for the first time in 1995 during the Daytona 500 race. Well, you technically would hear it for the first time during the qualifying segment. Sounded so good back then. I personally like it better than the straight through exhaust sound from back in the day and compared to today's more unique shorter dual exhaust sound. You can really hear the pulses of the cam lobes when the race car is pushed to its limits.

That's NOT dual exhaust on the new car, it's just a muffler on a header pipe, that's not true dual exhaust.
