- Heck…Well that took longer than expected. BUT! The Aston is finally level, square and locked in place! Still a little bit for me to do behind the scenes. But after decades of decay, the first step in rebuilding her is done…only a few thousand more hours to go!

Amazing to watch this taking shape. Look forward to the next episode 👌
Thank you! I felt very accomplished to get it finally set in place. Lots to come!
Do remenber that your jeg is the floor, so anytimg would tale the same shape as the floor, in theory
I am old, have seen a lot - but never seen such a rusty wreck. You do a great job!
She definitely needs some love. But very much enjoying the process!
@@HudsonAutoFilms Sorry for bad English, I live in Austria. But your Answer is very gentlemanlike, very british; I like it.
I’m now addicted to your channel and have binwatched all your vids during Christmas. I have liked all the vids hope it will help and that views and subscribers will keep growing. If you manage to appear on big american rebuilding channel it will definitely help your channel. I remember watching samcrac, he introduced us to ratarossa who had a channel with 3000 subscribers at the time and his channel boomed thanks to it.
Sandblasting will destroy a lot of the bodywork, and you will still have internally rusty bracing and panels.
I would recommend a Rust-oleum dip. It does not damage good metal, paint, plastics or other materials, and will treat the ENTIRE car, not just the bits you can get at.
That said, it's not cheap, but it is by far the most effective method on such a classic vehicle.
Great start , looking forward with max interest
It will be quite the adventure! Glad to have you onboard
Reminds me of doing my s1 e type, I just kept cutting and cutting, I started doing a door and there was actually nothing left, same with sills, floor, everything. Like the inboard rear brakes to reduce un sprung weight, nowadays it's all big discs and calipers just on the wheels.
This is e great channel….i love it…..watching from Amsterdam 😊
Thank you!! Happy to have you hear, lots more to come :)
Brilliant.it's a massive task well done for taking it on 😊
Thank you! It’s great fun which keeps me going
"I've seen much worse" must be the understatement of the year. Take care, and don't overstretch yourself. I will follow this restauration for the next 100 years if necessary 😅
this blokes got plenty of cash should not take hundred years
_So it's quite easy really_
_Contorting in the right way_
Words to live by!
Haha now part of my everyday lingo 😂
@@HudsonAutoFilms Yoda's fridge magnet!
Another great video, love seeing the progress👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! So much more to come!!
Good welding practice! Don't wear yourself out!
Too late!
🤣
Great work 👏 . This is truly an amazing journey to bring the car back to being a car once again.
Thank you! I’m glad you’re still enjoying. It was a big task, so much more measuring and figuring things out behind the scenes. But we got there!
Little by little, but your making progress.good video.continue on doing what your doing.👍👍👍😎😎😎
Thank you! Glad you’re enjoying. Getting there slowly, but having a great time!
Great video, you are a brave man
Taking shape. Good video.
Thank you!!
Truly delightful to see the journey of you and this car on its rebirth, very spiritual. Thank you. John
Thank you John! People might think I’m crazy, but it feels good to take something at rock bottom and slowly build it back to its former glory!
I don't know if you are doing it off camera? I am not seeing any diagonal measurements taken when trying to figure out position. Think parallelogram, you can have four equal sides without being square. Measuring diagonally let's you square up the body. This is an absolute must in collision repair and even in home foundation layout. Can be shocking the first time when you see how much a minute angle change of a degree can make the two diagonal measurements grow apart.
Don’t worry! We have been doing that, we mentioned it in an earlier episode. But as this was the third bracing episode, it was a bit more brief in showing each step!
At the rear you have a single vertical stabilizer at the center between the upper & lower box tube - I would recommend adding two more, one at either end. Great video & look forward to seeing you bringing this Aston back to life.
Absolutely! I subsequently fitted a couple more! I’m glad you’re enjoying! It’s actually a really rewarding process. Though many may argue it’s beyond saving, I disagree.
Such a brave man attempting this resto, captivating watching it though.
well done and really take care as too much attacking will create pain for later on.
Good job mate!
Thank you!
Great work, can't wait to see it complete👍
Thank you! Will be a lot of fun!
G'day great video mate 👍
Thank you! Lots more on the way!!
In the first few videos I saw a lost cause, nothing but rust, but inside your head was a plan I couldn't see.
Now I'm beginning to see what you were thinking when you said "it's not too bad". 😆
The way forward is becoming more evident and I see a pin-prick of light at the end of a long tunnel...
As an avid follower of this project I'm always keen to see your next video, but I don't want to see a young man burn himself out.
SLEEP!
If a video takes a couple of weeks to drop, it takes a couple of weeks. We can all live with that.
one hell of a project.
Yep!!
Doing a great job ! Never thought I would stay and listen to a Rupert but your going a great job I will keep watching!
Thank you! Lots to come…it will be an interesting project and I’m sure at times rather defeating. But worth it!
Braceing myself for the rotisary getting rerally exciting now. At least the "invisible Aston" hasn;t collapsed although you seem to be on the verge. Get, some rest and once again become the the man with a shadow....Good work and jolly well done. God bless.
I guess you’ll be welding the rotisserie mounts to your triangulated bracing frame?
Great work 👍
Thank you! I think so, it may possibly bolt on to suspension points. But I have to investigate how solid they are first!!
@@HudsonAutoFilms
With the Supporting cage welded in place, it'd be better to bolt the rotisserie to that, which would allow you to remove and refit when necessary also, I put my rotisserie on wheels which made it much easier to move around, just needs a cross bar to join them together.
Great job! Significant progress and gives better clues as to how you’re proceeding with project……..
Thank you! Slowly getting there! Finally a straight canvas to work with!
I'm amazed that you see any potential in this thing. There isn't much car left...
I think it’s the challenge I enjoy the most. Once the cars are done… I tend to loose interest!
@@HudsonAutoFilms Good thing you like old Astons then! Can't imagine they are ever 100% done...
hi, have you finalized any restoration ? see your new nice projects but not any done rides 😀
They’re all In storage! I’ve got a few done, but I get a bit bored when they’re done!!
Mad Max Aston!
Maybe that’s the new direction 😂
Great job on you New Cage😅
Don't wear yourself out on this, the videos come when they come.
Making your Aston structual is a Gargantuan task and i think you're going the right way with getting the professionals into blast as the wrong media will just turn it dust.
Good luck
Thank you! Got there in the end. It will be nice to have it clean and blasted. Even if there is less, at least we’ll know what we’re working with
Thanks for another great video. I await the blasting with bated breath. If anything you’ll be left with bracing you can make a stock car out of 😂. Looking forward to the next one.
What’s happening with the other v8? I’m sure I saw it for sale on an auction site the other week
...still can't quite get my head round the 4x4 aspect of this? ...btw, have you contacted Reebok re. sponsorship?
That’s not the 4x4! This one is full restoration. If you look on my channel, about 3 weeks ago I posted a video about my £200 supercar. That will become the 4x4
Yoyally not necessary to weld that much between the support frame and the body. It will mean damaging the body panels when you cut the frame free.
It was needed, hard to convey over video but in person by feeling around it was still twisting until we had this amount. But the bracing was tacked on, it was very easy to remove without damaging.
I really like what you are doing.......American channels,,NO,,,they will want you to change your style.....Stay British......cheers from Canade......Ernie
RUSTON MARTIN
I'd have run away screaming by now.
I’ve definitely screamed. But haven’t quite ran away!
Please , please put a AM V8 in this car and ditch the wire wheels.
Time for a haircut ……you will look much younger …..and modern ! 😂
I might keep growing it until I finish the car…it will be 14 meters long by that point!
Hi! There is another channel that has just started thats restoring a similar car to yours! Its a 72' V8
@TorslandaAston
I tried to look the name up but couldn’t find anything!
Hi! Thats me!
