This is it!! I hope it remains that way. I’m scared she will only remain the Nation’s darling (this is how it’s been in the UK) if she continues to tick “their” boxes. Her parents and team are incredible it seems so I had know doubt that she’ll have great success at Wimbledon and beyond.
I just love her! When I saw her first game and didn’t realise she was playing Venus, I genuinely thought they were showing Venus’ first Wimbledon game.
I am the same age as the williamses, they took more hate than any of you will ever find out. I was in monte carlo watching both of them play. the level of vitriol was out of this world.

Well, Anisimova and Vondrousova are the youngest GS semifinalist for more than a decade. Vondrousova is the youngest women's finalist in a Grand Slam for 15 years (Sharapova was 17 at Wimbledon '04). Finalist. And pretty sure Anisimova doesn't have this much level of media hype from her home country while both WTA and Roland Garros didn't treat her like some kind of precious jewel. And they wiped out in Wimbledon's first and second round after their fantastic run in Roland Garros.
In women's tennis, it's not simply breaking through, maintaining the level and achievement will be the harder part. That's Coco's next task. To crack through so deep and getting those sweet drawing where she doesn't need to face the seeded player in her following tourney. For now, give her a break, this is just the 4th round she entered. And facing no seeded player up until now, smh.
Ishan those feats mean jack if you can't bring home a grand slam. maria was already full of drugs at that point anyway.

The way media (US) hyped her is crazy beyond belief and is straight unbalanced if we talked based on achievement here because Anisimova landed in semifinal, hell even no one give a damn about Kenin back in the State when she beat Serena in FO and as matter of fact, Kenin is also a teen, but nothing really matters despite her reaching QF, Anisimova reaching SF, because what matter is Coco Gauff reaching 4th round and let's do this whole video showing how rave she is, lol not like she pulled up a Stephens, ranked 900 something 5 weeks before USO and suddenly winning every single damn match to grab her maiden GS. This is only a decent run by a youngster that deserve to be celebrated, but not this much because she ain't winning shizz yet.

Well, she lost today. She beat a an almost 40 year old Venus Williams outside of that she played very ordinary opponents. Today she came up against a top player in name and ability. The result? routined in straight sets. She's a talent for sure but ease up on the hype.

"Dominates rivals..." Her last opponent had a match point and gifted a double fault. Other players will not be so charitable. Halep will end this improbable run, and the losses will pile up as expectations skyrocket. Ask Naomi Osaka. Ask Belinda Bencic. Ask Capriati. Ask Jimmy Arias. There are so many prodigies who crash, burn, and hopefully revitalize. I will be interesting to see how she deals with the losses, because that's pro tennis.

It's not embarrassing. Martina Hingis and Jennifer Capriati were also teenage tennis sensations taking out experienced players when they were young. Serena Williams won her first slam at 17 beating Hingis who was the world No.1 in the US Open Final. There has always been a more physical dimension to men's tennis and players tend to break through later around 18/19 as we're seeing with Felix Auger. Unfortunately for the new generation on the ATP, they're struggling to break through due to the fact they're playing at a time when Nadal, Federer and Djokovic are playing, who are the best three players the sport has ever seen based on the records.
Well if coco opponents can't cope with the mental pressure that's their problem. She seems to cope with mental pressure well, tennis is mental as well as physical.....

First of all, most 15 year old males have not physically developed and thus find it extremely difficult to compete with fully grown male adults (who have both power and technique on their side) However, females mature much more early and the physical advantage is pretty much nonexistent. Plus during male puberty muscle mass is increased disproportionately to that of female muscle mass during puberty.
