  • It's another great day on the farm! Taking care of the animals is what it's all about, pigs, cattle, pigs, chicken and turkeys, large and small. Today we're putting in a new watering system for the little pigs, retagging some of the cattle, checking in on our cattle breeding groups and talking about cattle breeding behavior, and making a ham for dinner!

I look forward to your video's so very much, every time. This one in particular, where you messed around with the critters and talked to them and cared for them and explained so many things about them and why they behave the way they do, it was so wonderfully satisfying and interesting. Thank you for sharing the wonder of your everyday simple life. It is always fresh. Always real. Always good in the best form of the word 'good'. Life was meant to be this way. This is the meaning of life. How to find and enjoy the simple reality of how if all fits and moves in a oneness that is timeless, pure, simple, real and... Good.

I do think Job said it best, " But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee, And the fowls of the air and they shall tell thee..." The guys will love this one when we get back to school on the 15th. Thanks for all you and Hilarie do and have done in helping me do this. Thank you Pete and Hillary for posting your days on your farm. We recently found you and have been going back to older ones to view and loving it so much. We too, left our business lives, bought a small farm and started to live sustainability but unfortunately, we started it about 20 years too late!!! Loving every minute of our life on a farm. We are aged 78 and 74 and still get up every day to tend animals, we have a flower and fruit farm so we tend flowers, some veggies and our orchards, watering, mending everything, just enjoying what we do.What you share and advise has so much merit and is priceless information, and also entertaining. When we started in 2007 there wasn't any information to learn or figure out about crop rotations, companion planting, where to spend your money, investments on the farm; and the hardest part- where to sell what you finally have produced!!! Still an on-going and necessary part of it-selling. Except maybe a few farmers that would share info. Thank you thank you for taking the time and doing such a great job too!! We are loving it. Hi Pete, I enjoy your videos and I appreciate your attitude. I'm from Lewiston NY, now living in Fort Myers Fl. I saw you filling your 55 gallon drum with water and I remember not long ago (7 years) that my water bill was $22.00 for 2 months. We didn't have sewers but a septic system so there wasn't a sewer charge. When we moved to Florida I almost chocked after receiving my first bill which was almost $100.00 for one month, and the water quality is terrible, what a difference!
    Keep up the good work,
    Bob C.

I’ll have one of those ends of that Ham, Pete😊❣️❣️ you did a perfect job of cooking it!!!!!♥️I truly love it when you cook a meal well you’re working on the farm telling us about your day and we’re going through things. I Never thought of piglets as funny but as I have watched your videos, more and more, they really are funny little characters!! I always thought they were cute when they were little and even up to about half size of growth they still were cute in their antics…. What I have been coming to realize in watching your pigs is they tend to follow each other in your movements so if One runs to the corner they all run to the corner; if one jumps &turn they ALL want to jump & turn!! Guess there’s only one brain between the group of them😊❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
What I like about your videos, is you of course, but also how interesting you make everything seem as well as enjoyable no matter what you’re doing or what your day incurs… you always have a positive attitude about it and that’s really a pleasant way to look at life❣️❣️ it reminds me of something I saw many years ago and then I hung it on my refrigerator for a few years because I liked it. I don’t know who wrote it and I don’t remember the quote exactly but I think of you when I think of the quote and how we live our life! And it went something like this: attitude is everything! You can choose to have a good attitude or a bad attitude but either way it’s going to affect the outcome according to what you choose.…… Then it went on the list different chores or Asian throughout the day, Different ones for men and women andHow Our Attitude Will make a big difference in how we handle that issue of the day… Not only how we handle the job but how we feel about it and talk about it the rest of the day! We’ve all seen example of this in movies or advertisements where to men come outside and they both have the same job to do which is cleaning the sidewalk and driveway a snow that has fallen through the night one guy has his coat gloves on I’m putting on his wiener cat whistling all the way as he picks up his shovel and begins to shovel the snow to the left and right
of the Driveway, whistling and humming as he goes and tackling the job in no time at all.
The other man comes out with a frown on his face oh he’s got his coat on but forgot his gloves and hat inside until he gets cold and begins grumbling even more as he hast to go take his boots off to go inside and get his hats and gloves he forgot. Coming back out he’s growing more and more and all the while each shovel the snow seems to be such an annoyance to his life he’s grumbling so loud that he cannot even hear the beautiful cardinal singing nearby and he’s throwing snow , Right and left as fast as he can, just wanting to be done and in his rush to be done he slips because he wasn’t paying attention to how he was throwing his snow leaving extra debris of snow on his sidewalk and driveway. Now he really is in a bad way because, as he hollers for someone to help he realizes he’s grumble so much there’s no one to come to help!! He has no friends.
… ….Now you see where attitude makes all the difference in your day Pete😊❣️❣️❣️❣️So, that’s why I watch you! You’re always happy and singing or whistling in a day away with great stories along the way and You love your animals, Which is obvious as you talk to them and pet them and tell them about their day oh yeah it’s OK if they’re mad because they’re not eating what they want! You’re always so understanding and kind to the animals and I love that❣️❣️❣️❣️
You also have really cute calves on your farm which is my favorite farm animal and you have some of the prettiest variety of colors I’ve ever seen in highland cattle but I’ve noticed nobody seems to be able to pet a baby calf no matter how old they get… why do you think that is?
All I can say is Pete, you give joy to forming and life on the farm and you make me want to become a farmer like you❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I get it with the bulls bellowing but am still surprised at how vocal the cows are. It must be tempting to muzzle Patty at times.

Great video Pete! Bulls and their holes! We have to be careful in pastures that are overgrown some to keep from running in one!!!

I like how you treat your animals with love and respect even though they are raised to die and provide meat. Maybe this is where love comes into the equation as making things taste better.

I saw you at the farmers market the other day! I was going to say hello but we had to leave before I could. I hope to return soon and buy some of your stuff, my whole family really wants to try it.

Thank you for videos my son (2yrs) loves the animals. He can't wait to have our own. I wanted to maybe offer up a solution to your dead fly problem. Dump them on the ground and feed them to your chickens lots of protein! Have a great day and keep up the good videos!

Love the channel, to make it easier, we installed a 12v solar powered door on our coop. Love the chicken door from Texas, no more early hours, or bad weather to open the coop.
