Out freaking standing my man.. the only issue I have is using BOSS amp kits, not my choice to use. There are much better brands to use. Over all very nice.

WOW !!! that's my previous truck model GREAT paint !!! got the W-987 for my 2002 lightning i traded my '94 in on back in 2005 ...Very nice install !! you reminded me i need some sound proofing mat hope i can get as nice an outcome !!

I got a 94 lightning and was wondering about amp placement. Did you just screw the amp into the rear cab sheetmetal or did you pu some kind of board behind the rear carpet curtain.
Yeah just to the back of the cab making sure not to use ones that would hit the bed.

@@wilburhattaway1510, why? Because it's a truck, his truck and same as you, it's his choice. What does old school have to do with it, are you a boomer, Gen X, what is old school to you. Boomers hacked up muscle cars, Gen X cuts up fox body's and camaros for tubs, coil overs etc. It's a Ford lightning, it's not a Ford GT, if he sells it, he probably upped the value with a way better modern system.

Rattle from dash usually means the brace on the passenger side may be broken. See my video we’re I address this.

That head unit is nice and compact! Did it seems like there was enough room in the dash for deeper models? Many come in around 6.5"
Yes, you can put a deeper unit in the obs FORD

Did you buy the LMR door panels? I’ve heard mixed reviews on them, interested in seeing that.
Haven’t yet but still looking at other options. Heard the same thing & have been hesitant to order them
Trailblazer Films yea, I think they may have fitment issues and for the money they cost I think they should fit like a glove. Can’t remember if they are 599 a set or per panel, wither way it’s crazy. At least your lightning will take any grey XLT trim from 94-96 f series or bronco or the 97 super duty. The 93 lightning had that darker charcoal grey interior that I have to find a 92 or 93 only to swap parts.

Hey on your previous radio did you have to do anything special to get it to turn on. I currently swaapped out the stock radio for a aftermarket but its not turning on. I hear the cd changer getting power but not the head unit itself.
Ive tested it out of the truck aswell as the wire harness adapter. And it works fine. But not when i connect to truck

Anyone got a link to a stereo install on a 92-96 extended cab? Mine only came with 2 speakers in the door. Wanted to add 2 in rear but I don't have the set up. I've seen Crutchfield added 5x7 in the top corners above rear seat.
Could you also install a backup camera to that aswell ?
Yup sure I just did. I recommend the one they recommend with the head unit

You think the sub and box on a dual set up would work. I noticed they had an option for that in the link you provided?

A dual setup might be tight, not sure if it would fit. The screws only went into the first layer of sheet metal, they did not exit the cab.
Did the head unit come with those rca adapters or where did you buy them?

Not yet but definitely considering it. Although it usually just sits in my garage. Don’t leave it outside unattended much when I do drive it.

Did you remove the stock sound dampening mat? Its was probably painted the same color as the truck and glued (?) to the floor in pieces. I'm going through a similar upgrade to my 1993 Lightning.
Must be a lightning thing because I own 5 obs fords, 92-97 f350s and none have sound deadner mat. Only my diesel has a thick felt mat for sound

I have a good question I think a lot will benefit from. I have not bought my head unit yet and I noticed you went with a shallow head unit. How much room is in there, I'm sure we all want to know if we can get away with a DVD CD player which is probably double the depth of the shallow unit you used

There’s enough room behind for a normal style dvd CD player system. I just went this way because I live this head unit & it’s features.

I called them so u got 3 inc drop in front and what did u go with in the back 4 or 5. Same place right DJM. Sorry to bugg u I just like the set on your truck. I'm keeping Original wheels and rims u think it will rub.
How was the integrity of the dash after removing the center support for the double din?
Didn’t change anything. Hadn’t caused any issues or made a difference really
Sir did you have to upgrade your alternator?
I did not, I haven’t had any charging issues or lights dimming while using this setup.
Should have spent the money to get the double din kit from OBSinteriors.com way cleaner and OEM AF
Yea I saw then. There expensive for what your getting. Metra kit was only $30 & gives you want you want for a fraction of the price
Trailblazer Films I agree it’s not cheap, but I’m personally into the OEM look. I’d like to think that’s how Ford would have done it from the factory if it was an option back then.

Really want to have subs in the 94 f150 single cab but I’m 6’0 how does that sub fit, do you have to push the seat forward?
This sub does move the seat forward about a inch or 2 but once I added my smaller steering wheel it definitely gave me way more room

There's a simple plug and play option.
Between bypassing the amp or using the amp to power the system.
It's just a matter of speakers and the amp with rewiring etc...
How much was for everything?

Hmm good question I haven’t tried it like that I usually always plug it in to the charging cable since my iPhone gone is always dead 💀 I’ll check & get back with you on that

Double din gone.. Easiest radio to steal. Go with the flip screen that looks n fits like a reg cd player trust
