The Lakers Aren't Getting Better

- For the second straight year, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have stumbled out the gate but this year feels different. Last year the Lakers were coming off a season where they missed the playoffs entirely. They started slow but rallied and eventually made the western conference finals. After an offseason where they seemed to make improvements to the roster, the Lakers have once again started poorly and seem to have many of the same problems they had last year. So why aren't the Lakers getting better?

The problem is the constant change of the roster. No time to build chemistry
A factor but not THE problem imo, it’s AD not being consistent in terms of his play and his health
this is the problem ever since he came back to cleveland. all offense goes thru him and a lebron roster doesn't get any main playmaker
@@dufjdh3u87rhhdbhfhdin hindsight though, Wade wasn’t the same player post 2013 and then Chris Bosh had blood clots. So that would’ve set Lebron and the Heat back for a season or two even if they made the playoffs those years
The LeBron effect
@@JJFT235you’re not lying
Ever since Lebron became a Laker, every time there were great expectations (18-19 20-21 21-22 and 23-24) they’ve underachieved but when they weren’t considered the best (19-20 and 22-23) They impressed
So we should never have expectations basically got it way ahead of you 😅
Lakers were the favourites to win the title in 19-20 and were the Number one seed in the entire NBA. Fuck are you talking about lmao
So you are saying LeBron chokes when the lights are bright?😱
@@amanmehta3026 not really because every time they failed, there were many failures on the team from injuries to bad play that wasn’t at Lebrons control
@@amanmehta30264 rings, 4 finals MVPs.
last year was a miracle run, don't expect them to be top 2 of their conference but it's the media and the Lakers, can't have them being meh
They definitely over achieved end of last year. So many people had so high, it was ridiculous. AD is not a #1 guy, never has been. He's too inconsistent and injury prone. They could turn it around and surprise me, but I had them as a play in team.
@@bandjolyn we are only 8 games in out of 82 and were injured calm down
Yup. The benefitted from a historic FT disparity.
Their “best player” is a >40% shooter outside of dunks and layups.
@@bandjolynand the Nuggets brought them back down to earth in May
Not related to the video, but you were so right on harden.
1:14 yeah it was a bad look.
The Lakers are gonna live to regret breaking up that 2020 team so soon. Might have gotten another ring by now if they didn’t hit the panic button
Idk about all that. That season was the perfect storm for those Lakers. They got fortunate in many ways. The season was super short, which allowed AD to stay healthy and he balled out in those playoffs.
The Nuggets were good but still too young at the time, the Rockets were not what they were in 2018 and 2019, the Bucks hadn't gotten Holiday. Really the one challenge would've been the Clippers but they choked. That's not the Lakers' fault but they still dodged the toughest possible matchup.
KD, Kyrie, Steph, and Klay were all injured also.
Lol na. They only won cause of the long break in the season. AD ain’t making it through a whole season and postseason without that.
The 2021 team was better than 2020 but injuries derailed them
@@THE_BEAR_JEW "Super short"? The regular season was 71 games, out here talking like it was a 50 game season.
@@Avocado11 Don’t be disingenuous.
71 games, but partitioned into 63 games then 3 1/2 months off… then the other 8 games.
Proceed to lose by 34 to my Rockets 😂
I tried to tell my doom and gloom, all is lost cousin that our rebuild wouldn’t be never ending like the Hornets or something but he swore we’d suck forever now and couldn’t win anything without Harden. Safe to say I was right and he was way wrong about anyone winning with Harden. Lol 🤘🏾🤘🏾
At this point, once LeBron retires and we don’t get ring number 18, Rob Pelinka needs to get fired. Literally all the Lakers problems start with the front office and it’s been like that since 2013. Idc how old he is, why are we struggling to make the fuckin playoffs with one of the greatest players of all-time?
As a Lakers fan, I don't know what to expect from this season anymore. I spent the entire offseason saying that the 23-24 season was crucial because this could be our last chance to win for the rest of the decade and so far, we're just fumbling it. When Anthony Davis resigned with the Lakers on a supermax contract, I was still nervous about the ramifications since he's just so fragile and so far, I've been proven right. If this is going to work, AD needs to stay healthy as LeBron will need at least a little rest so he's not playing 35+ minutes every game. And as far as the role players go, I expected this from D'lo but the other guys have to step up.
Couldn’t agree more, as another Lakers fan. And it’s ridiculous to me because we kept the core that just brought us to a conference finals, yet we’re one loss away from being one of the worst teams in the entire league. Christian Wood can’t play basketball, Gabe Vincent practically stole a contract, Cam Reddish is almost nonexistent on both ends, Tauren Prince had ONE good game to START the season, and D-Lo is hit or miss constantly. The only player they used their money on in the off season that I’ve got faith in to contribute to actually winning basketball games is Austin Reaves, and that’s downright depressing when you signed THIS many guys. I’m hoping that when JV comes back we’ll improve, since we’ll be able to run almost the exact same lineup that lead us to a CF. But these other guys needed to step up because the same exact roster isn’t gonna get the job done twice.
Edit: Christian Wood did decent for Dallas at the starting five. So, at this point we might as well get experimental with it. Bron at the 1 , Austin at 2 , Rui at 3 , AD (Or Vando when AD misses 57 games) at the 4 , and Wood at the 5. They gotta try SOMETHING.
A funny thing about that big trade they did last year... It should be noted that the Lakers average number of free throw attempts TRIPLED (they were already #1 at that stat) starting with the 5 games that occurred before any of their trade acquisitions played a single minute for the Lakers and continued that trend for the remainder of the season.
It was indeed a bad look in Houston 😂
Why are y’all got a grudge against the heat fans our lives are rough rn keep the good work going love ya channel
Cause of dame
I like yall nba vids the most, thx for uploading so frequent guys
Lakers downfall:
We will be there no matter what
I mean the answer is in the offseason. In fact, every single one since LeBron got there. They flip out like half the roster and bring in like 4-6 new faces every single year. Its gotten so pervasive, that there are MULTIPLE players who were brought in and have left...TWICE in that time. Also doesn't help that fans get their trade machines ready to get rid of everyone pretty much by December.
almost to 50k subs boys congrats 🎉
Good video guys! How do you think they’ll fare with Vanderbilt back? Also, just a video idea but the Mavericks and Philly have started the season surprisingly well🙌 Would love to hear an analysis about their initial success!
And then Houston beat us by 36
If they are still struggling later in the season, I would love to see you guys Breakdown the Milwaukee Bucks.
Obviously there is area's of improvement game by game as we are watching Adrian Griffin learn to be a head coach as he goes along and the players learning a new system, but I think you guys would do a good, non-bias (Minus Dame) look at them and be firm but fair (and funny) because there are issues at the moment.
I'm a Bucks fan and I would love to hear what you guys think.
they keep blaming injuries but other teams are still playing better than them when they have their own injuries
Both LA teams struggling, even if it’s early in the season, what a time to be alive
thats most LA sports teams atm
LA is in the trenches rn😂
When one of your top players is made of papier-mâché and the other was actually there for Pangea, you're gonna have a bad time most seasons. LeBron and AD have averaged like 39 wins a season since they won the championship.
That 2020 Bubble was their shot to make something happen and to their credit, they did... but that's it. Last season they made the WCF, but they got swept. I would give their WCF appearance as much credit as I gave the Blazers for doing the same in 2019.
The Cold War intro music 👀🔥
i think it comes down to nugs vs warriors to see who wins it all, if both teams continue their trajectory
The Lakers shot themselves in the foot with the Russ trade and it's been downhill from there (and I'm not mad).
But this is a team that will gut their team on a yearly to bi-yearly basis and not even attempt to build team chemistry. They won't ever be a top 5 team from everything expressed in this video to the lack of chemistry and just not being a well put together team.
With LeBron on his way out of the team and league in just a few years, this Lakers team is going to be bad once again, replicating their 2010s era post Kobe's injury.
time to bring back sacre
bro what was up with thanos bussin it down
Before the season the laker were stacked right? 😂
I WAS WAITING FOR THE ROCKET VIDEO
Lebron is nuts. He's the same age now as Jordan was on the Wizards.
+31 in 12 minutes without bron? That’s literally like shutting a team out for a quarter while your team scores pretty well on the other end
7:21 the breakdown of brons games by literally his days alive is crazy
Maybe it’s just me being a lakers fan and all, but I don’t think it’s as big of a deal as everyone else is making it out to be. Sure going 3-5 is looking bad but everyone forgets these are against potentially playoff teams WHILE being super injured. We are basically down to 7 rotation players at this point. We just need to get healthy and see where you stand then.
They have to fight way too hard for every game. Even against lottery teams. So by the time the post season comes around they’re already injured since their stars are injury prone. Then on top of that they’re exhausted 😔
I'm going to ignore all the bad signs until jared vanderbilt plays. Then Ill get depressed.
Should’ve got Cayley-Stein instead of the younger jaxson Hayes 🤦🏽♂️
I remember Christian wood telling shaq he’s a casual and his next contract will be big money and now he ends up as a roll player for the lakers.
Its Lebron bro. The plus minus talk is deceptive. He does not play defense. The rest of the team has to deal with 4 on 5 for most of the game. Then they run the offwnse through him and turn players into spot up jump shooters regardless if thats how they play. He shoots abysmally from outside of 3-5ft from the basket. If you actually watch the game not the highlights you'll see it.
These guys don't watch Laker games, that's for sure. They might really believe that Lebron shoulders no blame for how bad the team performs.
Honestly, if they recorded this videi after the Rockets game, this video would be extra interesting
How are they gonna build if the starting line up changes frequently?
God I miss alex caruso
We thought that the warriors were the ones who has questionable off season moves wherein of course its the lakers that is struggling.
Keep it up guys! We goin' for 50k 'till the end of the year!
The problem is there’s absolutely no urgency, no hustle at all they shoot 1 shot the other team boxes out the complete paint, the opponent shoots and lakers ball watch and give up 15 offensive rebounds 20 plus 2nd chance points, you’re not beating opponents when you shoot 80 times and they shoot 105 times, that’s just pure hustle and no leadership. Lebron isn’t a leader he’s shootings 70 pct at the rim and 3 ft out 35 pct as usual. Ham also doesn’t call timeouts to smack the shit out of the players to wake up, it’s sad that jarred Vanderbilt literally has to be on the floor to create hustle , who knows when he’s coming back. Even last year w Russ they were in every single game, literally 40 plus games by 2 or less possessions deciding the game, now they’re getting blown out by 30 to garbage, last year wo bron the lakers were pretty good , we miss Dennis badly , you know the fiba MVP, leader and winner of the cup. SMH. Gabe Vincent is just like Kendrick Nunn, the heat effect, you know where spolstra demands perfection and grit, well the lakers are the complete opposite and there’s no way to fix that.
Mane we just won today tho😢
Also this take has nothing to do with the Lakers and i know it is early on in the season but I don't see nobody in the west beating a healthy nuggets team in the playoffs. Jokic is the greatest offensive player to ever play the game of basketball heck I don't see nobody in the west taking them to 6. The only team that could do something against match up wise is the Timberwolves.
Out of alll teams 😂
yeah the only threat in the west for the nuggets are the timberwolves, mcdaniels and edwards contain murray by blitzing the pnr while jokic has to worry about rudy who is arguably looking like the best help side defender in the league right now, they match up well size wise.
Suns in 6
@@kowaikokoroMan stop it lmao
iunjuries could suck so bad though. murray and mpj havent been the most healthy players in the last few years unfortunately.
Lebron watched the video
Darvin Ham is the issue. Terrible rotations and no adjustments.
can we get video about Memphis Grizzlies?
We not even ten games in 😂😂
Should trade Austin Reaves while his value is high
Surely the lakers wont lose against the rockets
retrospective on the 2016 - 17 playoffs
The lakers might figure by the deadline like last year but I doubt that
The problem is AD still is relying on bron to carry
a Kyrie Trade is this teams only hope of making the Finals
Thankfully, they just need role players. If they keep DLo and Reaves and then work on trades for role players, it could work out.
Trade dlo he trash they should get trae young
Its Darvin Ham imo the Lakers are just getting out hustled and showing no effort. Thats on the coach, I remember Coach Pop once yanked his entire starting lineup within like 4 mins in the first quarter cause they were showing no effort so he put in nothing but bench players. You gotta send a message to the guys, if you gonna be out there i need to be seeing hustle
The lakers should’ve listened to Phil Jackson when he suggested trading Lebron James . The guy is done and he hasn’t play defense in years . Anyone remember when Kuzma pushed Lebron into the close out shooter lol ? Well Kuzma would’ve definitely helped this roster and so would’ve brandon ingram . These guys were all there with lebron and lebron got them traded . Both all stars smh . That bubble ring was a fluke indeed because the lakers have missed the post season twice since then . Its going to be sad once lebron retires for the lakers because they mortgaged their future for 1 chip and they will most likely fall into the abyss of the rebuild phase . Ad most likely wont retire a lakers so the rest of his prime wont be in LA .
Teams like the thunder , spurs , Twolves , nuggets , and maybe even the blazers will be better than the lakers in the next seasons to come . The lakers wont be a factor for the next 3-4 seasons . I love this because over the years the lakers have blatantly cheated to get their accomplishments . So what’s happening now to them is just karma …..
As a lakers fan, yes I’ve figured out that Lebron is the problem. He needs to go already, he’s hindering a rebuild.
yeah nothing is gonna happen to this team if they keep replacing players yearly
also that dude from Lithuania might have broke AR 💀
As a lakers fan, idk what the hell everyone was thinking. I wasnt a fan of this team going into the season
Oof that rocket loss
being a lakers fan is hard man
Im tired of even asking why yall think the Lakers are a good team😂
I feel like lebron will have a season similar to Kobe in 2013 when he played 40 minutes per game and then got injured for the playoffs and la was swept in the first round.
Wood didn't start much in Dallas
We're only 8 games in a brand new season. I really feel as though that the Lakers dealing with injury is the reason why they are playing the way they are. Plus I also have to put this on head coach Darvin Ham as well. Like that game against the Miami Heat that the Lakers could have won You're only down by one why in the hell are you going for 3 I never understood that for the life of me. They pretty much let Miami off the hook with that. But to be honest with you I really believe injuries is the reason why the Lakers are playing bad because they're missing four key guys in majority of those games. Plus D'Lo and Reeves have both haven't lived up to expectations so far. I give Austin Reeves a pass because he played this summer with the Olympic team and probably this is the first time he's played competitive basketball non-stop throughout majority of the calendar year. Call me optimistic or an apologist but I believe that the Lakers can still turn the seasons around But the LeBron being on the bench situation is alarming still with him having 21 years in this game is crazy. But I still believe the Lakers can turn this around within this season and that starts with everyone being healthy.
We started 0-9 or so last season and made it to the conference finals. Currently, we're 3-5. I'm not quite bothered yet.
The 2021-22 season started 7-5 by November 10th (today’s date), if that ruins ur mood
@@demonreacts7816 It doesn't. I choose.
@@AFO_AnalyRics that’s the spirit

Ain’t no way y’all got the clippers over us 😭
Honestly they fumbled not picking up Bismack
DLo said he a playmaker he needs the ball in his hands...he needs to come off the bench then because he just a spot up if he playing at the same time as lebron
Interesting how when you talk about other threats in the Western Conference you don't mention the Timberwolves, who are 3rd in the standings and have the highest ranked defense in the league.
Wow you guys really need to chill about Austin Reaves. It’s been 7 games. If you think he’s been “exposed” after seven games then you guys are clueless. A guy can have a run of 10 poor games. Doesn’t mean anything long-term. Check back in in a month and then maybe make a judgment.
Just wondering if you guys ever watched a game and compared the scores when LeBron is on vs. off the court. Spoilers: the +/- doesnt line up with the actual score changes. Thats why it sounds so ridiculous.
Anytime I say Lebron is too old to be the best player championship team I’m called a hater,
Yet anytime the lakers lose those same people will use lebron’s age as their first excuse 😂
The Bronsexuals are a delusional bunch man.
It is mind blowing how bad the role players have been.
Can't wait for the brand new Lakers trade package of Austin Reaves, Max Christie and a 2nd to make waves this season.
No vando yet this year. Also ad not playing does not help. Ham is also bad.
Clippers and Suns being listed among the better teams was ridiculous when this was made even more so a few days later.
Ong bro. I was so offended. Like we didn’t just beat them both during our ‘poor performances’?
Rob Pelinka better be canned soon as this team is becoming the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
The gabe vincent hate is unwarranted. Hes obviously going to shoot way better the season just started.
Should’ve kept the 2021 team like I’ve said
10:20 uhhhh no
The Lakers have some issues that's for sure. First Darvin Ham isn't an elite coach. He is constantly making mistakes that are a detriment to the team. Second Davis is inconsistent and pretty awful around the rim for someone his size. The game against Sacramento after Sabonis fouled out, he should have dominated the rest of the way. Instead he was blowing easy layups and settled for being a non-factor. Playing Austin Reaves and Russell at the same time isn't working out and one is going to have to come off the bench. I would start Rui Hachimura in Reaves's spot. The Lakers were a dominating team their championship year in 2020 because they played with size and defense
,ast year when lebron was off the floor from the miracle foot injury lakers came back from 13 seed down to 7 seed . Then i wonder who really the lakers problem is?
What did y'all say about the heat???
For Christian that’s cause of role
Jaxon Hayes has been fine idk what you guys are talking about lol. He just hasn’t got any run
Fire Ham!
7th seed ceiling
Why did they break up that 2020 team? They’ll never win again because of it.
Do y’all think Boston lied about robs health before trading him like they’ve done with other guys before?
Probably. F**k the Celtics.
Could anyone see a crazy trade of AD & LA’s 1st Round pick for Joel Embid? Haha
Lakers will be fine
They need to get rid of Lebron!
That’s the biggest thing Lebron minutes are gonna be the thing with them
I need LeBron out of my favorite team. The Lakers need a massive restructuring, and the franchise will always believe they can win it all with LeBron as our guy. AD isn’t ready, and he’ll never be at this point. He will always be the best #2, and LeBron just ain’t the #1 he once was.
I can’t wait for 2029 or whatever, when our future begins again. We ain’t doing shit for the next 4-5 years.
Yeah Lebum needs go. Should go back to Cleveland.
At this point you gotta feel bad for Bron lmao. How are his roleplayers just losing all their abilities the moment they put on lakers jersey
No at some point you gotta realize Lebron is the problem. The chemistry killer.
Heat in a 4 game win streak and better than the bucks 🤷🏻♀️
5 now
They need to blow this up. AD and Lebron has run its course. their tenure with the team is not that impressive as well.
I hate saying this since it’s unpopular but I think this is on lebron mainly. I swear every player who went to the lakers since lebron has arrived got much worse. Like very bad. Russ is the best example. He became garbage then when he moved to the clippers he’s still a very good point guard.
Edit I’m saying that lebron needs to try and push for the lakers to make ad their main focus and have someone else as the main ball handler.
