This has nothing to do with our government, but rather society itself. People drove that kid mad, he supplied himself with a easily accessible gun because it’s OUR right to have guns. Notice that it was not a semi automatic weapon, but instead a revolver and shotgun. What we (specifically the people) need is to treat everyone with respect because we are all in this life together. Until that day comes (which it may never), we must sit here and wonder why this scenario continues to happen. My son was killed in an attempted robbery by a fellon who had a gun illegally after they ran him town with a car to knock him off his bike ( he was 18)......so please tell how my son would still be alive if criminals all turn in their assault weapons ( anything that can cause trauma to a human body is an assault weapon) because the only thing that might have prevented them from killing him is if my son had an open carry permit! Watching this in May of 2022 as another school shooting has happened at Robb Elementary School which is where? In TEXAS! 18 children and 3 adults. That vow that it would never happen again apparently was broken. My heartfelt prayers to the families of the precious lives that were taken.

The teacher should not have a round in the chamber where it could go off and hurt or kill someone. It takes under 2 seconds for a person to rack the slide and put a bullet in the chamber, and it can take up to ten minute for police to get there, figure out where the shooter is and devise a plan. A school shooting can take place in 2 minutes. Now which would you rather depend on?

When I was in 5th grade we had a drill. A drill we had never had before. A school shooting drill. It seemed so real and I was tearing up and so nervous. There are old war stories of ppl losing arms an legs to land mines who are so in shock they cant comprehend the pain an even try to go looking for the lost part of them they just lost moments ago. I work with a lot of kids and I have for a lot of years. Very naughty one's. I think our foster parents, juvenile center staff and case workers need to step up and give some perspective to some people.
I'd also be interested on debates about gun-violence with police-officers... I can't help but wonder how hard it makes their job.

I attend school not far from Santa Fe high school. After hearing that there was a shooting at that high school, I was so scared that my school would be next to get shot up. But all of my prayers still goes to the friends and family that got effect on this tragic event.
