    I see that your recommendation to fold down "1 1/2 Inch tabs" at the eaves would have fully covered the hole. You marked and cut a 1" tab, which is a little short. Over-all, nice job.

    I'm building a shed against the back of a house. I'll have a hi-side trim installed on the side of the house and extending several inches over the shed roof (extending over the panel ribs and installed on zee-closure). I'll also have a rake trim installed on a perimeter cleat and zee-closure. How do I finish the rake trim where it meets the hi-side trim?

    Does anyone know how a metal panel (exposed fasteners) installation on a Roof whose Ridge is longer then the Bottom. Should ridges be cut just before the Rake edge or should Ridges be tucked under Rake with the rake cut. Installer cut the Rake and tucked Ridges under Rake. Now water runs under metal.

    Why would you have to use rivets when using the z bar though ? Is only one end of the rake hemmed ? Because the rake I install has a hem and kick on both sides and snaps together like ridge cap

      Did you ever find an answer Dave? I have a metal roof on my house that is leaking at all 4 corners, I think it is because the trim sits on top of the high ridges of the metal, then there are large gaps in the valleys of the metal all the way down.

    • @EricFapton

      Only on the rake. Not on the eave. On the wave the water just rolls off the roof.

    Picky detail; I don't like how the final fold is the fascia side. The final fold imo should be the top flap. 2:51

      @Abcmetalroofing  Před 7 lety

      Hi Hamza; thanks for your question! To accommodate a tapered gable design, you can order tapered rake trim.

      ***** no we cannot use ! i feel you dint get my question ,suppose our eave length is different for both side.so Automatically gabel will not make 90 degree with eave.so in this situation you need to give path for water exit .how you will handel this situation.

    • @Abcmetalroofing
      @Abcmetalroofing  Před 7 lety

      Hi Hanza. What you're describing sounds like when your rake comes into your eave, it isn't at 90 degrees. Despite this, you would still install your eave trim underneath the roof panel and install the rake trim as shown in the video. This will require that you modify the angle for the rake trim to suit your field conditions. If you have any further questions about your specific project, one of our representatives would be happy to take a look at your drawings to better help with your specific field conditions. You can find a representative in your area here: www.abcmetalroofing.com/About-Us/Locations/.

    • @gbski43
      @gbski43 Před rokem

      It's a clip so you don't have to screw through the finished cover trim. Prevents the bottom from lifting off in winds etc

  • @michaelw.urbansr.8617

    Yano if i had a video like this about 35yrs ago that would have been awesome?!? LOL I grew up in a time they didnt even have cell phones so i ,surely didnt have youtube! lol I have done metal work and facia and trim for years. A lot of that can be incorperated in the installing of the metal roofing. But when it comes to the type of products you should have too install it is the thing? I just need to know what items and products i need to get a roof done? Like starters ,which you are calling a continuous kleet. But its basically a metal starter strip, channel lock for the last piece....? In any case i just told a guy that is hiring me yet a 3rd time to do some work i could install the metal roofing like i have done it before.......nope! LOL but i am 100% sure i can figure it out! Now i know there are things i dont know about it i should know. But then i wouldnt be working so.....hehehe Where can i go to find out what products i need for this type of roofing? So im not totally winging it?lol

    So if I follow your recommendations with the double-sided tape I will never pull that trim back off to be able to fold the end like you want for the eaves. So I guess unlike you I will manufacture the piece first then put my tape on then install it. 😜
