This one is a good size (mine is the purple, 36 inches) not too big but big enough to work and roll both my legs at the same time - I took a photo holding the roller next to me just to provide a better representation of its size. I noticed some reviewers who complained that this is, “just a foam noodle”… and yes, that’s exactly what it is. It’s a high density foam roller. It is absolutely NOT the same consistency/strength/durability/ or texture as a ‘pool noodle’ thought and I disagree entirely with those that say so. As a former collegiate athlete and marathon runner, I’m comfortably giving this roller 5 stars. It’s lightweight and durable and does just what I need it to do at a budget-friendly price. Overall, I have no complaints and am happy with it!

    I've done all the lower body ones but the upper body is something I am looking forward to trying. Also following along and doing it for that long will be motivation cause I seriously hate holding it for longer than 10-15 sec. :) I so need this after my hike/run this past weekend.

    I always walked right past these foam rollers and thought they looked silly, but your demonstration looks like it would feel so good to stretch on.. especially for the upper body! I will definitely grab one next time I see it now ^0^

    I was feeling this one! It hurt so good! My hamstrings and quads really needed this today--just wish I had had a better roller to do it with. The one at my dad's is WAY too squishy to get the full benefits. I might do it again tonight when I go back to my mom's.

    The foam roller I have isn't as long as yours. Either my butt is hanging off or my neck is hanging off....Is that bad? I'm guessing I should just support my neck?

      I try to foam roll after every workout because it really helps to release the lactic acid that builds up in your muscles during your workout. It's a fantastic way to cool down--it's been included as part of my after-workout stretching for about 2-3 years now and I see a HUGE difference in how my body feels the day after a workout.

      Get yourself a tennis ball. Put the ball between your body and the wall and slowly round around on the ball until you find that knot in your back/ shoulder or arm. Then hold right there. Yes it will be painful but this is how you will send the proper signals to your brain to release this tension and realign your muscle tissues. A tennis ball doesn't work as well for the lower body simply because it is hard to balance and put your weight on it, but you can try it.
