Best visuals of the night…you could hear the rain falling over your right ear during the song…there are some other videos posted that show them well

I saw the dead for my first time with the Who in the seventies. I was forced to see them many times because they were part of the line up. They were never any good. Sorry.
I feel bad for anyone with bad light sensitivity at that show.

Been a loyal Grateful Dead fan since I was in HS and bought Workingmans Dead and American Beauty at the same time. The 1970s live Dead shows are best in my opinion probably cuz I was there. Wall of Sound. This new 2024 band just does not grab me. Maybe I’m getting old but it is all for show and making money. Las Vegas? Hummm

Let the boredom ensue. They ain't JRAD that's for sure.

I was there, just behind the person recording this. It was a celebration of GD history, with 20,000 heads losing their minds. Nothing inauthentic about it.
Of course it's not 70's Dead. That's a bar that will never be reached again. It's merely an opportunity for Bobby and Mickey to keep playing these songs at their age without the rigors of touring, and to give fans something new to experience. I can understand not liking it if you lived through their peak years, but I would think the OG's would at least appreciate that the music lives, and will continue to after they're gone.

They're still quite good imho. Jrad is youthful and whimsical and fun no doubt. But nobody else can do what they do. Why bother comparing them to 1977 Dead? Lennon McCartney were not the Beatles after the Beatles called it a day. Mick Jagger performs the same dull schtick he has for 50 years. The boys still brings it imho.

I'm sure Bob is happy he doesn't have to drag his ass from venue to venue all over the country anymore.
True, it's not a Dead show. I went on June 1st and had a good time, enjoyed the music, was awed by the tech, but it's not the same vibe for sure.
